Found your channel, catching up from beginning. Impressed with your video presentation and progress on layout! Subbed. Enjoying channel immensely.
I just discovered your TH-cam channel! I am someone who is mostly known for collecting model aircraft but also am working on my N scale collection to do a Nebraska based model railroad.
as model aircraft builder, I'm sure you will enjoy the detail artistic side of model railroading.
Lovely Building.
Great progress! The layout's coming along nicely. Best, John
Thanks. It's starting to take shape.
Better late than never, for me. I'm doing a bridge very much like yours, and see i should be a bit more precise - good thing I'm working slow and won't have to redo too much. Good Show!
I do think trying to be as precise as possible is important. In N scale, 6 inches is about 1 mm.
Nice work! It’s coming along nicely. Looking forward to the next update.
Stay safe and be well,
Sean
Thanks!
Looking good!
Thanks!
Great work on the bridge abutments, good tips. Cheers
Glad it was helpful!
Judging by the "454" you have chevy with a big block stashed somewhere? Nice modeling! I have a 68 Chevelle SS 468 cu. in. I found your post with your 71 and cooling problems, I replied to your problem there! Nice car!!
As expensive of a hobby model railroading in, muscle cars are MUCH worse!
It's funny, you're going through many of the exact same mid-build changes that I've gone through, including moving the incline. Were you able to salvage the first one? I tried to pry one loose from foam, but after about an hour of trying to clean off the glue from the bottom, I gave in and trashed it for a new one. Fortunately, they are relatively cheap. You're right, they make the job so much easier, especially for the first course if you ever build a helix.
I was able to save the foam incline pieces and the track. The cork I could not reuse. I used a sharp utility knife to cut and release the foam, it worked well.
Is there a kit/abutment for connecting two or more of these bridges together?
Not that you have to but did you consider using bridge shoes between your abutments and the bridge.
It's crossed my mind if I have to use them. I think they would interfere with the layout plan. If there is flex in the bridge when trains go over, I'll look into it.
Gotta Remember Measure 2 Cut 1.
