I love how strict you are about the breed! I Ben contemplating the breed for a very long time and decide a Boerboel is gonna be our next companion! I always have Rottweilers so far shadow is 11 years old! And the similarities are almost the same! But the boerboel lives a bit longer and like you said he’s way more imposing but just as adorable and docile as my Rottweilers!with the proper upbringing and training of course! Your videos are absolutely an academic of the breed thank you for sharing your knowledge to all Of us that love the breed!

There is a video on YT with a female Dog that is so muscular... I had to check a second time that it was really a female... So muscular, even more than some Male Boerboels.
I would really not want to speculate on the biggest dog (claiming to be a Boerboel) that I ever saw as it was a clear cross breed. The breed standard used to set a maximum height of 70 cm..... and if the dog is still "balanced", its weight should be around 70 kg........ so, that would be the ideal.
@@boerboelacademy That’s Exactly why I asked the question sir...I see a lot of videos of Boerboels in the USA as well as in SA which are about 200 lbs/ 90 kgs and with a pretty good appraisal score which confuses me. Though I personally like big Dogs, if it doesn’t meet the Breed standards, we can’t call him a Boerboel I guess .
@@durga1 The trend is to breed bigger all the time but it is definitely detrimental for the dog. I have yet to see one of the huge dogs becoming old or having really good mobility. Unfortunately it is allowed by some of the appraisal organisations who are trying to please owners rather than to act in the interest of the breed.
