Join us for an unforgettable evening! We kicked off with a delicious preshow dinner at Asterid, setting the stage for an amazing night.
Then, we headed to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles, an architectural masterpiece designed by Frank Gehry. Completed in 2003, this iconic venue is celebrated for its striking, curvilinear stainless steel exterior and exceptional acoustics. The vineyard-style seating ensures perfect sightlines and sound for all 2,265 seats, expertly engineered by Yasuhisa Toyota.
As a cultural landmark, the hall features a rooftop garden, café, and public spaces, contributing to its vibrant atmosphere.
The highlight of our evening was watching our friend perform in Beethoven's Fidelio, an opera that celebrates liberty, justice, and the triumph of love over tyranny. The story follows Leonore, disguised as Fidelio, as she bravely rescues her husband Florestan from a Spanish prison. The performance was intense and masterful, featuring memorable pieces like "O welche Lust" and "Abscheulicher!" The final 1814 version, known for its compelling overture and emotional depth, concluded with a triumphant finale.
