In both methods he/she just multiplied it by the conjugate of the denominator. That’s a good rule of thumb to keep in mind to solve rational problems like this one.

Exactly. I could do it in my head, once I got rid of the sqrt(25) = 5 and sqrt(75)=5*sqrt(3)
