the whole sweet transvestite song in the remake doesn’t make sense now cause transvestite means a gender wearing like a gender opposite clothes like a man in a girls bikini or a girl in a mans clothes

I feel like the older one feels more voyeuristic. The way characters stare at the camera, or that scene when you're going up into Frank's lab. feels like IM in the elevator with the couple. The new one feels too...movie-ish? Distant
I haven't watched the remake, but one thing that caught my attention was: why did they make Brad and Janet so sexy? Janet with white push up bra and white high heels? She's supposed to be dowdy! They are supposed to be prudes, not sexy people like they look in the remake even before their conversion. But yeah, remakes are often made to make everything fit with a new audience-pleasing videoclip aesthetic. In fact, if the remake had a different twist in the way of portraying the events, contributing with a new perspective, it might have had sense, but no, it's just the same in HD and MTV fashion.
I can understand why Laverne Cox was chosen (and she was very good), but Adam Lambert was MADE to be Frank n Furter. He has the same electrifying, smirking semi-dangerous quality that Tim Curry had.
I feel like if they had done it in the live musical format instead of copying the film at every turn, the newer version would've faired much better. The stage version is slightly different than the movie but keeps the same vibe to it. Unfortunately here they went for such a polished look it didn't feel the same as the atmosphere present in both the movie and musical. If they had focused less on making a remake and more on making a different take on the story while still maintaining the atmosphere, it would've probably faired better than it did
I'm not a hater of this BUT I really think that it just turned something iconic and great as RHPS into something mundane, normal. The Rocky Horror Picture Show it's everything but normal
"a transgender"... girl- okay however i still agree that laverne wasn't good as frank since she's a woman... so it wouldn't make sense for her to sing "sweet transvestite"
The remake looks like an overproduced and over-polished music video, while the original just feels like a MOVIE that I can sit down and watch. More bizarre => more raw and unforgiving => more nostalgic => more awesome
The biggest problem with the remake from what I see visually is it’s too glamorous when the original was balancing beautifully between trashy and glamorous because it’s a horror show the remake is to glitzy Also putting a women as frank ruins sweet transvestite and Frank’s opening line in rose tint my world
I don't have a problem with movies based on stage shows being remade. Stage shows get redone ALL the time. So to me, this new movie version isn't any different than a new stage show doing their take. I think where the new movie fails is that it tried too much to be like the original film instead of finding it's own voice. There are ways to pay homage to something, without copying it shot for shot.
the remake is objectively bad but honestly i wouldn’t mind seeing most of this cast do like a live production bc you can tell theyre really into these characters
The problem is the new one is too clean, which doesn't work with Rocky. I get they were trying to make it more like an homage to the original but... just don't bother. Heck, the only change I even slightly agree with is the casting of Laverne, since Frank was basically designed to answer the question "What would scare a suburban housewife?" and a man in fishnets no longer does that, but a transwoman does and at least it shows they tried something new, even if it failed abysmally.
I tried to watch the remake and it gives off none of the same energy, the reveal of frank n furter freaking iconic, eddy's demise unexpected, how rocky moved was barely a thing not the whole character,it's like they took away the very essence of it all
Ok say what you want about anything, but one of the WORST things about the remake was Columbia. Not hate to the actress but i absolutely hated her performance as Columbia. It was lifeless and snarky. Not like Columbia at all. (And the best part was Adam Lambert as Eddie. I absolutely LOVED his hot patootie)
What was the point of remaking it?!?! And the point of Frank is he is a transvestite, but like everything he does, half arsed, they missed the point with the latter Frank
I love them both. Only because tim curry is in both. Yes the original will never be replaced but this is definitely a great celibration of it. If we dont make remakes then the memory of the original will fade and new generations will live never even knowing about rocky horrer in the first place. No one showed me. If they had focused less on making a remake and more on making a different take on the story while still maintaining the atmosphere, it would've probably faired better than it did
Some things are just meant to be left alone .
I'm not a hater of this BUT I really think that it just turned something iconic and great as RHPS into something mundane, normal. The Rocky Horror Picture Show it's everything but normal
This classic did not need a fucking remake !
Why, for heavens sake? WHY ??? An absolutely needless remake!
I guess was unnecessary a transgender to interpret Dr Frank, a good actor must be better appreciation.
"a transgender"... girl- okay
however i still agree that laverne wasn't good as frank since she's a woman... so it wouldn't make sense for her to sing "sweet transvestite"
@@mariaandreinagarcia6177 yeah, you're right, the whole song just feels... Transphobic now
There is something magical about the original, especially Tim Curry himself, but I will say the remake had overall better singers
I like 1975... They are incredible)))
Agreed! The only good remake I've ever seen was Peter jacksons king kong remake.
The remake almost made me want to stop watching either of the movies but then i watched the original again and it cleared my head.
THIS SIDE BY SIDE COME BACK AHHHHHH YAYAAAYAYAYAYAAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA
The remake looks too... clean and polished. Like, that kinda defeats the point
the remake is objectively bad but honestly i wouldn’t mind seeing most of this cast do like a live production bc you can tell theyre really into these characters
The songs op used in this video are so good
wow this was an awesome edit, fun to watch and great music. thanks!
I'm so sad because no one can do Dr Frank and Further than the legendary Tim Curry.
En definitiva la versión original
The problem is the new one is too clean, which doesn't work with Rocky. I get they were trying to make it more like an homage to the original but... just don't bother. Heck, the only change I even slightly agree with is the casting of Laverne, since Frank was basically designed to answer the question "What would scare a suburban housewife?" and a man in fishnets no longer does that, but a transwoman does and at least it shows they tried something new, even if it failed abysmally.
1975 is better
DAMN, not even a little tiny thing is better than the original movie.
I think the 1975 version is better than the new version
the virgin laverne cox vs the chad tim curry
Absolutely no comparison. Tim has it
I think they missed the point that the guy in the back of the wedding In the beginning was Frank-
Both were good
yeah. I love them!

....Why was the 2016 even made?
Looks about as good as my grades in school..SHIT!
I feel like I’m the only one who likes the 2016 one. I love the
Movie/musical so much that
I like all version of it. That’s how happy it makes me
I like it too! It has its flaws, but it's not that bad. I love Laverne Cox and Tim Curry!
Why?
I tried to watch the remake and it gives off none of the same energy, the reveal of frank n furter freaking iconic, eddy's demise unexpected, how rocky moved was barely a thing not the whole character,it's like they took away the very essence of it all
The original will always be the best.
Never knew they made a 2016 version
Ok say what you want about anything, but one of the WORST things about the remake was Columbia. Not hate to the actress but i absolutely hated her performance as Columbia. It was lifeless and snarky. Not like Columbia at all.
(And the best part was Adam Lambert as Eddie. I absolutely LOVED his hot patootie)
Never understood why people need to remake everything. Original is good on it's own, there is no reason to make exact same movie but worse. 😒😒😒
Y was it even a thing to remake it just no the original is still so amazing and Tim curry was so fantastic u can’t beat him
What was the point of remaking it?!?!
I stumbled across a weird lip movie and watched it without my parents knowing.

Proof that actually hiring a trans person to do a trans role doesn’t automatically make a movie good.
(There were other aspects to the 2016 version that made it terrible but we cannot deny that Tim Curry was and always will be the best Frank N Furter.)
What an entertaining video! Your choice of music was excellent and on point - well done sir!
I had no interest in seeing the remake, but you have caused me to want check it out.
No one can beat Tim Curry with his performance of Frank no one will ever be as good as him lol.
I love them both so much
The remake seemed rushed among other problems. Only good part about it is that Tim Curry was in it and the diversity
i hate the way the 2016 one was shot in a high school lmao, the time warp literally looked like it was filmed in a gym
The original, definitely the original was the best!
Nothing could ever come near the original movie…… Tim Curry Rules!!!! ❤️🔥🫦🫦🫦
Turning the doctor into a black trans woman literally makes no sense. That's not crossdressing and it's not shocking because it's a woman in women's clothing. This just tells me that they simply wanted to blackwash a version of the film without doing much else. They literally ruined the entire point of RHPS with this remake.
There was no need to remake Rocky horror picture show, it's a classic and had no reason to remade. The only redeeming thing about the remake is the fact that Tim Curry's in it
The 1975 one is so much better than the remake.
Hate everything about the new one. EVERYTHING.
Is that- Victoria Justice??
I hated the remake, but like, Ryan McCartan😔💕
