I don’t know how well the movie holds up, but, god damn, seeing Independence Day in theaters as a kid was straight up mind blowing.
I saw it again maybe 3-4 weeks ago...Worried it might feel dated...Nope it holds up.
It holds up fine. It does drag in the middle, but it always did. I will say that from the beginning of the movie to the first attack, it is a straight up, top notch thriller. I would put it up against any movie in terms of build up and suspense in that regard.

The dog scene is a mindless "hooray the dog doesn't die in an explosion of fire" cliche, but I love it. Being 6-7 years old in the theater, that scene made me have hope in humanity lol.

Bill Pullman seems like a very down to earth guy. Spaceballs is one of my all-time favorite movies (but I love most of Mel Brooks' films). I've seen it at least a dozen times and still crack up at all the jokes (and can practically recite the film from memory).
He’s absolutely high and hammered.

My Dad and I saw Independence Day when it came out. My Dad cheered at the end like a kid it was so great to see.
Wes Cravens The Serpent And The Rainbow I thought was one of his best movies ever for serious acting skills. Another underrated actor Hollywood has not given credit where it is due for his talent.
All Bill Pullman fans need to try to find and watch Zero Effect, his Sherlock Holmes-esque movie with Ben Stiller. Fantastic, peak Bill.

While You Were Sleeping might be the most underrated movie of all time. Pullman is superb in it, and perfectly cast, as the hard working overlooked younger brother. It is also Sandra Bullock magic.
His chemistry with Sandra was great to watch.
Grew up with the son of the writer of While You Were Sleeping. That movie is a masterpiece
Pullman will never top his amazing performance in Ruthless People.
I love how his character described Lucy in While your were sleeping. Great cast, great dialogue, and Sandra Bullock.
Jack: I'd say that she gets under your skin as soon as you meet her. She drives you so nuts you don't know whether to hug her or, or just really arm wrestle her. She would go all the way to Europe just to get a stamp in her passport. I don't know if that amounts to insanity, or just being really, really... likable.

“While you were sleeping” is a classic in the Frank Capra sense.
Bill is awesome.. ever since Brain Dead and Serpent Of the Rainbow. Back in the 80s. And his comeback to me was The Sinner. He proved he's the same brilliant actor from the 80s to the 90s Lost Highway days... He has always been awesome.
Thankfully for us, Mel Brooks new talent when he saw it!
Bill makes every movie better.
Spaceballs was one of the first movies i saw in the theater as a kid... and it remains a near and dear movie to me. especially growing up a huge star wars fan.
Let's not forget his unforgettable turn as the wretched Oswald Danes in the British sci-fi series Torchwood: Miracle Day

I saw this movie here in Albuquerque
I can tell you why they don't. Its a DLynch film and the people who love his films, particularly that one, are also truly one of a kind. I don't mean that shitty. I hate Lynch's stuff but my best friend loves his stuff. I like surrealist stuff and stuff that isn't fully explained.....but there is a freakin limit for me in terms of making some narrative sense. So basically either you or my friend will need to interview Pullman.

Pullman enhances every movie he makes. His relatively minor role in the second Equalizer film is nuanced and understated in sharp contrast to the scenery chewing of Washington, Leo, and Pascal.
He gave the best speech from that movie. From the 90s his speech and Pacino’s game of inches speech from Any Given Sunday are amazing.
Bill in Ruthless People was Award Winning. His Turtles Crockett and Tubbs still Kills me

Actors who can do everything, comedy, drama, action really are fascinating...ESPECIALLY those like Bill where we all know him. I never see him in anything and think "Oh it's Bill Pullman", I just see the character. That is such a weird, undefinable skill.
