  • The build of my dream MTB compound begins right here with the start of the roll in tower that will eventually lead into a huge wooden kicker and a mulch landing...
    It has always been a dream of mine to create my own MTB trail spot and I can finally say that it's going ahed! I plan to create a MTB facility full of dirt jump trials, Slopestyle jumps, EMTB trails, training features, wooden kickers, mulch jumps that will hopefully create the dream compound training facility.

    Definitely the right name, "The Tompound" compound. The wooden Kicker to mulch sounds like the right choice. Good luck Tom. I look forward to seeing the rest and you and Kara dropping in on your first feature.

    The angling of the tower to collect water is genius

  • @leonardre
    @leonardre ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I would put a lean to off the side off the roll in top, then you could run a length of guttering off the bottom of the lean to collect all the water, it would give you shade in the summer, a place to get out the rain also you could eventually put sides on ot and make it into a chill den, kind off like a car port sort of thing.

    • @eartharrow6772
      @eartharrow6772 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I've often wandered why roll ins aren't used to make shacks for storage or chilling in the rain

  • @GalacticWoodsman
    @GalacticWoodsman ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Looks awesome! Only thing I might do different is instead of digging the pallets down it might be worth looking into a load of road planings to go on top of the existing soil. With all the water you guys have digging down could create pooling areas and rot your pallets! Either way excited to see what you make 🤘🏻

    Awesome. I covered (Glued) my rollin with a asphalt carpet used for roof. Because it protects the material and the non-slip makes a braketap without sliding out, possible on the way down.
    Just a tip from me to you two. Anyway cant wait for the next video. God luck.

    This looks wicked! I ride bikes and also a carpenter so this ticks both boxes! I love watching build videos so really looking forward to this series.
    I would anticipate building something in the future that somehow incorporates that roll in into a feature to get more out of it. Maybe dig slightly under the ramp so you can have a mini tunnel feature!

  • @Twonksvids
    @Twonksvids ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks great so far. I'd go for a bike lift next to it, maybe even a wooden built thing to keep with the theme, cranked from the top. Shouldn't prove too difficult and would save the space needed for a push ramp or guide rail + steps on the main ramp.

    Twenty years ago I built my 12 ft tall backyard roll-in similarly. The top rolled over much like yours but, I had 8 ft of vertical before rolling out at the bottom. Was super scary😬💀 at first but quickly became accustomed to it.

    looks good... maybe need a support halfway down that roll in?

  • @Cheapsh0t247
    @Cheapsh0t247 ปีที่แล้ว

    looking really good, i like your thought process. I would try and maximise this structure as much as possible and be tempted to have four roll-ins from this point if possible, it will need and addition to the side but you have 4 foot width, extend that by half a board and 2 posts and it could run 4 trails from one structure?
