  • As part of the preparation for the Centenary concerts, I’ve been having an illuminating time delving into my father’s catalogue to make new arrangements of some of his incredible compositions. I couldn’t bear the thought that we wouldn’t be playing any of it tonight, so I asked many of my father’s students to record from their own homes around the world so we could play for you. Here is a taster of what you will hear when we reschedule these shows!
Performed live from musicians’ homes worldwide during coronavirus stay-at-home orders
Edited and arranged by Anoushka Shankar
    Performed by
Vishwa Mohan Bhatt - mohan veena
    Shubhendra Rao - sitar
    Guarav Mazumdar - sitar
    Anoushka Shankar - sitar
    Ravichandra Kulur - bansuri flute
    Ashwani Shankar - shehnai
    Bickram Ghosh - tabla
    B C Manjunath - mridangam
    Pirashanna Thevarajah - ghatam
    Aditya Verma - sarod
    Barry Philips - cello

Saw you and your father perform several times in San Diego and I think I attended his 90th birthday celebration also. He was there that night as were you and your family. What a treasure that was. I have loved his music since the 60's when he made his appearance at Monterey Pop. Indian music has always resonated with my soul. Thank you for carrying on his legacy of pure and heartfelt classical music. Happy Birthday, Maestro.

Thank you for your appreciation of Indian music. There are different ragas for different moods too. There were Ragas known as Raag Deepak and Raag Malhar in ancient India. Raag Deepak when played at a particular frequency helped light up lamps and Raag Malhar used to bring rains from the clouds.

In pursuit of my "roots" (I am a Panjabi from India living in the USA) I discovered that Sandhya means EVENING, when the sun is setting. It depicts a mood that exists at that time, when the day is done, and night about to come. Appropriate for me. I am 88. years old In Indian tradition, reality is just our mood. The way we feel. Not what we own.

That's not what Buddha said. The correct quote is from the Dhammapada,
"Give up the past, give up the future, give up the present. Having reached the end of existences, with a mind freed from all (conditioned things), you will not again undergo birth and decay."

@Beyond Infinity I was not around, but I know that the first original translations of Buddha Gautama's teachings were recorded a few years after he died by his disciples such as Ananda. The Buddhist councils in Sri Lanka and other places in South East Asia that have followed in the years following have perfectly preserved the Tripitaka/Pali Canon..and that is where books such as the Dhammapada derive their information. There is no need to twist a quote that is both original and easily accessible. Namaste.

      "Quantum-consciousness"
Om Isha vasyam idam sarvam, yat kincha jagatyam jagat'
      ॐ ईशा वास्यमिदँ सर्वं यत्किञ्च जगत्यां जगत् ।
      तेन त्यक्तेन भुञ्जीथा मा गृधः कस्यस्विद्धनम्
"All this- whatever exists in this changing universe, is pervaded by consciousness"
      --Isa Upanishad .5000-BCE
"When ever i give lecture on quatum physics
I feel as if i am talking on Vedanta ."
Adi Shankara said, ‘All that you see doesn’t exist’. One of the top scientists of our times, Dr. Hans-Peter Durr said, ‘I studied matter for the last 35 years, only to find out that it does not exist! I have been studying something that does not exist’.
Dr. Hans-Peter Dürr (1929-2014). Biography. Quantum Scientist . Nuclear Physicist
When Buddha says “All is illusion,” he isn’t saying that nothing is real. He’s saying that your mind’s projections onto reality are illusions. He’s saying that the elements in the universe that form every physical thing we see-solid, liquid, gas-if they’re taken down to a subatomic level, they don’t exist. Therefore all we see is an illusion, because it’s shape or form, not true essence.
BrahmAn as per Vedas means THE MORPHOGENIC CONSCIOUSNESS FIELD.
The ancient Vedic rishis in all their wisdom said as early as 8000 BC , that our universe is not woven from matter but consciousness . (They never patent there knowledge there own name ) There are connections between quantum mechanics & consciousness .
Consciousness is the intelligence, the organising principle behind the arising of form. The quantum field or pure consciousness is influenced by intention and desire.
All atoms in the entire universe are capable of mind reading and communicating with other atoms. There is a consciousness in every molecule of matter.
As per quantum physics things do not exist in its physical form, unless they are observed by a conscious observer.
In every experiment when an observer expected energy to behave as a particle, it did so. When he thought it would probably be wave-like, it was. And when observers believed it might start out as one form and end up as another, it did so.
This means ,nothing actually exists in its physical form until observed by someone, was adopted by the group as one of the concepts. You created them by your expectations and your thoughts of what should be. In every situation in your life, including the wealth or lack of it you choose to attract to you.
Thanks to the theory of ERP Quantum Entanglement, originally asserted by Albert Einstein and two fellow scientists , Boris Podolsky and Nathan Rosen, we now have proof that what Vedanta had been saying for 9000 years is true.We are all connected. We are all One, sharing a consciousness with the entire universe, perhaps even many universes.
Bible considers that the cosmos is a few thousand years old. Western historians have been trying to date Rig Veda to 1500 BC ( instead of 5000 BC ) because as per Bible the big bang happened in 4004 BC at 9 AM on 23rdOctober. *Naturally you cannot have a book written before the creation of cosmos , right ?*
      "Jesus was never exist"
      Plz see this video....
      1. th-cam.com/video/3_TDgTebF_Y/w-d-xo.html
      And Vatican has been
pressurising all and sundry to disprove Vedic literature that stated in 5000 BC in writing, that the cosmos is 15 billion years old and that the mind and consciousness has to be factored in.
Well the advent of quantum physics has proved Bible and Max Mueller wrong.
Don't compare Vedas to other religion book .
Vedas have scientific facts , cosmology , advance math , quantum physics , astro physics , Meta Physics etc.
All top scientist including Einstein, Shrodinger , Heisenberg,Oppenheimer,Niels Bohar , Carl Sagan , Dr. Hans-Peter Dürr,Fritjof Capra etc. know sanskrit language and read vedanta scientific thoughts and get knowledge form it ,for there scientific research .
"I go into the Upanishads to ask questions."
Niels Bohr, "God Is Not One" By Stephen Prothero, Page No. 144
Vedas never tell about any sects , cast , race, hell haven and religion .
Schrodinger wrote: “Vedanta teaches that consciousness is singular, all happenings are played out in one universal consciousness and there is no multiplicity of selves.”“the stages of human development are to strive for Possession (Artha), Knowledge (Dharma), Ability (Kama), Being (Moksha)” “Nirvana is a state of pure blissful knowledge.. It has nothing to do with individual.
The ego or its separation is an illusion. The goal of man is to preserve his Karma and to develop it further - when person dies his karma lives and creates for itself another carrier.”
“In all world,” writes Schroedinger in his book My View of the World (chapter iv)
"After the conversations about Indian philosophy, some of the ideas of Quantum Physics that had seemed so crazy suddenly made much more sense"
      Warner Heisenberg
(MORON PEOPLE WITH NON-TECHNICAL BRAINS , LIKE BR AMBEDKAR, EVR PERIYAR, PHULE SAAB, KANCHA ILAIH SQUEAK, KALBURGI, DHABHOLKAR, PANSARE, UR ANANTHAMURTHY, SHELDON POLLOCK, WENDY DONIGER, WOLVES IN SHEEPs CLOTHING INDOPHILES, JNU COMMIES, LITERARY FEST DROHIS, PICKLE JOHNS , CHUTNEY MARYs BENAMI MEDIA etc WHO CALL HINDU HEATHEN SAVAGES AND DFAME VEDAS MUST THINK AGAIN)
THE COSMOS IS THE PLAYGROUND OF MAYA.. FROM MICROCOSM TO MACROCOSM..
Bhagavad Gita is all about BEING IN THE MOMENT.
You cannot change your past, you cannot survive without water, you cannot change natures principle. The only solution is to accept things as they are.
Life is a combination or physical, intellectual and spiritual aspects. Without spiritual development , man is without love or positive emotions ( affection, care, respect, sympathy ) .
To be successful you must be exited about life. Life is a festival only to those who live with enthusiasm. Lack of enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.
Good manners are the best letters of recommendation. Bad manners reduce our acceptability in society, thereby affecting our social relations. A good laugh is the best medicine.. Laughter is a tranquiliser with no side effects. Laughter is the cheapest luxury, it electrifies the nerves and cleanse the system.
Love is food for the soul. Jealousy is poison for the soul. Better to forgive and forget than hate and remember. Fear tends to produce the things we are afraid of.
You must fight and make your own life on the planet. Don’t expect anybody else to do it for you. Make most of the best and least of the worst. Man alone is the architect of his destiny. Inaction is worse than no action at all.
Karma is the result of your actions. If you do something good, you will get good tings in return and if you do bad things, you will get likewise in return.
Karma or the actions that you do in the present life is passed on to the next life. But fate is not passed on to the next life.
Dharma is when we are walking the path of our soul's purpose. When we are walking our path we are out of karma. We are no longer creating cause and effect. We are in flow with the universe, with our spirit. Our soul is line with the Divine.
'Manu-Smiriti'- 5000BC describes the code for leading a disciplined way of life.
Patience, Pardon, Suppression of will, Stay away from Theft, Purity, Control of desires, Wisdom, Knowledge, Truth, Controlling Anger. These 10 qualities are considered as main characteristics of the Dharma.

      -(मनुस्मृति-धर्मलक्षणम्) -5000BC
MANU OF 8300 BC HAS BEEN KICKED FORWARD IN TIME TO 1000 BC BY THE BASTARD WHITE HISTORIANS
Schrodinger wrote in his book Meine Weltansicht:
“This life of yours which you are living is not merely a piece of this entire existence, but in a certain sense the whole; only this whole is not so constituted that it can be surveyed in one single glance. This, as we know, is what the Brahmins express in that sacred, mystic formula which is yet really so simple and so clear; tat tvam asi, this is you. Or, again, in such words as “I am in the east and the west, I am above and below, I am this entire world.”
(This is a reference to the Mundaka Upanishad mantra)
