When I was a year old my grandpa took me for a ride in his tractor. Two weeks later he passed. This song means the world to me. Good job Granger Smith.
I was watching today’s Mass online and when it ended, this “popped up.” I hadn’t watched it in a while. It brought tears to my eyes. I get why it is one of your favorites. ❤️ to you and yours.
I learned a lot of things sitting on the fender of a tractor. seems thats where the best life lessons are taught from. they may be beat up and not be all shiny but they show all the work they have been put through since being made
Yes very true, I rode on the fender with papa (grandpa) for hours since I was 6, I'm now 13 and still to this day, if I'm not driving it, I'm on the fender talking with papa, and if Im not Im on my roller chair with him in the shop working on classic cars asking questions and having papa teach me things and tell me the history of where some of the things came from
@@Tractors_Trucks_And_Pups same bro but I've been sitting on the fender since I was 4 and now I'm 14 almost 15 it's true tho if I'm not driving it I'm on the fender or bedside been working on clearing fences with the chainsaw most of the day. It's been long day especially working by myself grandpa is up in Chicago Illinois he had triple heart bypass surgery a month ago he's still recovering but doing much better than he was he taught me to use the chainsaw, drive, weld all kinds of stuff Grandpas are the best thankful he's still around he's 73 this year. I can't wait till he's fully recovered they're moving down to Florida close to where we live after he's recovered anyways God Bless bro stay safe
I have to agree with you there I have a 7110 and a 5088 international and then I have tractors that are rusty way back from the 60s 70s and 80s and a very old style barn but hey they do the job I don't Need shiny New machines that all they do is cost more to fix .
Tractors Trucks and Pups, I sat on the fender with my dad since I was little, finally got to plow a little this year, never got to see my grandpa, but I know he would be proud of me.
Here's to you grandfather. Rest in peace. My grandfather passed away today at 12:45 in the morning in his sleep. He was in the hospital. Going to miss you Grandpa
Last year my Father gave me the best gift on my 26th birthday last year. It was the best gift any sixth generation farmer could receive. The gift was his Great Great Uncle's 1956 John Deere 50 which was the first tractor he ever drove as toddler. The 50 is my user photo on TH-cam. This song will always have a special place in my heart since most our fleet of tractors were all bought new by my Great Grandfather and its a joy running equipment from a by gone era in American Agriculture history.
Coming from a sixth generation famer who is 24 and this pulls at the heart strings. I am proud to say that we still have and operate 3 of the tractors that my great grandfather bought new and they have not left the farm or the family and never will.
Hearing this song for the first time and I started crying. It reminded me how close I came to losing my 61 year old grandfather to three different strokes just last year. He operates a (roughly) 20 ton excavator on a regular basis and that's been his life for the past at least 17 years. He once taught me to operate a 40 tonner in the quarry before it shut down when I was about six. He's always been there for me and I don't know what I'd do if I lost him. Really hits home about spending time with family man. Never know how much time they got left
Thanks for writing this song. It reminds me of my Grandpa, who passed away February 27, 2017. I miss him so much. He drove his tractor everyday and farming was his whole life. So thankful for the heritage he left us with; so I can pass those memories to my kids on our own farm. There is nothing that compares to life on a farm 💗
Jesus Loves you Matthew 11:28 come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. As well as Romans 6:23 for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God (Jesus who died on the cross for our sins) is eternal life. As long as you put your faith and trust in Him.😊!!!!!
This part of my life is coming down the pipe, parents grandparents getting older. I'm thankful for all I've been taught and shown. Thank you for the best 25 years of my life. GIVE THANKS
Man…i am a country boy… and this song means so much for me …. I cant listen to this without crying… it touched deep in the farm boy who learned to drive the 240 before a bicicle… if music is made to touch inside… i got a big punch to the heart with this one … congratulations you made this young farmer a music to hear all mornings before work 😀😀
This is an amazing song! It reminds me so much of my grandfather! He worked on a farm from when he was young all the way up to his mid 80s til he got to where he couldn't work anymore. We lost him in 2019.
I am so thankful that my dad and grandfather kept their tractors. I enjoy rebuilding them with my dad now. My grandfather is now looking down on us with a big smile on his face as he watches us plow, plant, and harvest the fields. Thank you for a wonderful song Granger, makes me think of my grandfather.
Beautiful circle of country life. I love how Granger holds on to the same spot on that old tractor fender that his dad did. Powerful personal story. Great song.

This is the perfect description of my Grandpa Elmer Dieckman. Here it is 2024 and i miss him greatly. His farm is in good hands with a guy named Devon. My dad, myself, and my son 3 generations on a family farm thanks to Devon. Miss you Grandpa Dieckman. What great memories we shared on that farm. Christmas was AMAZING! The smell of the fireplace, home cooked meals, the cousins, and so many presents. Thank you Grandpa for all the memories and life lessons.
I got my granddaddy's old Super A, and my deceased uncles Super M (preparing to restore). There is more in those old pieces of iron than just working to soil. Over time, they become a part of who we are and our legacy. I might have moved to town and don't go to the farm as often as I used to, but my soul is still there.
Granger, This is a very nice tribute song and video. I cannot imagine how hard it was to lose your father. For him to not see your growth in the music and your success. Great song man! Sorry for your loss I know how you feel because I lost my dad when I was 9 and I still have his tractor to this day! Hang in there bud you are in my prayers.
I love this song. Especially because it reminds me of my great grandfather. He’d always let me “drive” and we’d take them everywhere on that farm. Then we would always clean them after we had hot dogs! I loved that time of my life! Would give anything to go back!
Beautiful tribute to Dad Granger. A real man who taught you so much. The complete circle in your video is touching and I'm sure it was pretty hard jumping up on that tractor the first time. But bet Dad wanted you to ride it as much as you can. It ain't never easy, but Dad and the Good Lord up above know and know how much you appreciated him. So many great memories. God Bless you and yours Granger. Yee Yee!
I don't know of any other genre of music that has so many songs that can move a man to tears cause they bring back so many good memories of good times and good people. Thats why i love country so much. Keep it up Granger! Yee Yee!!
Beautiful tribute to you father Granger. He would be so proud of all your accomplishments in life. Alot of people can relate to this song. Maybe it can give them some comfort with their own memories of their loved ones. My condolences to you and your family.
Wow what a great song! I lost my dad when I was only 15, so 30 years ago, and this song put tears in my eyes. Love your music Granger, keep it country.

I would just like to say this song is so calming and lovely and reminds me of my life though with my grandad I remember when I was very young sitting on his lap steering a tractor around a field and this song gives me chills and makes me so happy that I could experience that it also makes me think what will I do when my dad and grandad die they mean so much to me just like yours do to you.
Granger this one of the most beautiful and meaningful songs I’ve ever heard !!! Amazing ! I listen to it a lot as I lost my brother recently ... love your music ! God bless you ❤️🙏🎈
I recently lost my grandpa this song takes me back im in wv with my little family and the rest of them is in s.c. long story short i came home from the army with no good in my head and that old john dear and him made me think straight in the feilds .i never got to thank him or say good bye but i think he knows how i feel thanks for that song. Sorry for the rambling i just got home from an all nighter at work and im dozing but had to put my 2 cents in. God bless brother keep it up.
What a touching song Mr. Smith. As a proud canadian farmer, i can say we live about the same way as you do, American friends, as much as every other farmers in the world. I grew up on a David Brown 990 and i know what youre talking about. You know, we spend so much hours on those tractors. Thank you.
Granger, this is an amazing song. Definitely touches your heart and is a tear jerker. Hadn't really heard it before but it is great. I think a lot of people don't take the time to see their parents and lose that special time they'll never get back.

iv lost half my family, this song makes me emotional when i listen to it, especially the line "it tore my world apart when god took him away, didn't get to say good bye",,, i never did get the chance to even just see or talk to my lost ones,
Never rode on the fender of a tractor. But my daddy ran heavy equipment all his life. I definitely remember riding in the cab with him on our weekends if he had to work. I'll never forget it and ill always cherish it.
Ain't nothing better than taking good, loving memories and putting some lyrics & six string too, so they will live on forever in our hearts. #YeeYeeNation was here
thanks foeat songr the song it reminds me and my greatgrand father and his farmall cub jus got it runing and when i told him and i never herd him so happy gr
What a beautiful wholesome song. The video of course was touching. But I could hear the memories and feel the love all wrapped up into the lyrics of this song. Truly special.
So sorry for your loss brother and God Bless You and Your family and Prayers & I def pray that he knew the Lord before he left this world and is on his way to a far better place than we could ever begin to imagine here on Earth. & God Bless You & Your Family & I'm so sorry for your loss & Prayers, As well No doubt You live and serve the Lord and give your life to him if you haven't already and obey his will and let him guide you in life no doubt, You'll see him again someday in Heaven above and You can rejoice and praise Lord God Almighty & Heaven above forever more and Live and love in peace and no pain or missery forever more through eternitiy as well, No more loss brother.
Love this song.Reminds me of granddaddy who died when I was 4.He had a Massey 265 which I use now more then my own car. Each time I fire it up I still envision sitting on his lap as a baby riding down the creek bottom.
This is absolutely incredible. My fiance grew up like this with her granddad. Her father is still around and a lot of the same. It's so great to see an artist on the front lines making music that means more than a fancy tune. You're awesome.
Thank you granger smith this is an amazing song and my grandpa was like your dad and this is almost how it went every day and he passed away on may 21st 2018 and we played this song at his service and the last time I talked to him was 2 weeks before that and he was yelling at me and this song makes me cry but it is an amazing song and I think of as a tribute to anything like what happened
WOW! That will take a full grown man back to a young boy sitting on the fule tank of dads old allis. It was a 199. What I would give to make a few laps today with the old man! God bless
Reminds me of my grandpa. I grew up out there so much. Learned how to drive on the old John Deere and the old pickup. I was too young to take the farm when he had to give it up. Sure do miss that place.
Beautiful. Meaningful. Now, with Granger's announcement that he will not be touring anymore, I bet his Dad, Chris, would be well-pleased with Granger's seminary next chapter.
this song and 5 More Minutes always get me. I'm fortunate enough to still have my father with me, but he means the world to me. And 5 more minutes gets me because I wish I had 5 more minutes to tell my grandfather how much he meant to me. Always tell your loved ones you love them and how much they mean to you because you just never know.
I miss my dad too. He died when when i was 22. I dont have a family of my own but my brother does that he never seen. I have grown up alot myself but it helped make me grow up. Life makes us who we are today. Take away something so tragic or otherwise who will we be? But it has to really hurt to lose your child who has yet to really live life. RIP Riv. Now you can watch out for your dad. My prayers smith family
I love this song, the kids love to play and ride on my 1939 9N, this song makes me think of them in 40-50 years when I'm gone... Thank you for being able to make this video, such an amazing song for any dad, beautifully done, he'd be proud of it Granger.
When I first came across this song 6 years ago on Facebook I instantly thought of my uncle that past in May 2010. He farmed and worked our land, that has been in our family for over 100 years. My dream is to soon be farming the land like he did.

I haven't listened to country music since the 90's but Granger, Chris Janson and Margo Price give me hope for the future of country music
Keep shining you are amazing Granger...you're music is is therapy..thank you
Absolutely excellent song, very touching. music like this helps restore my faith that good music isn't dead.
iv lost half my family, this song makes me emotional when i listen to it, especially the line "it tore my world apart when god took him away, didn't get to say good bye",,, i never did get the chance to even just see or talk to my lost ones,
Never rode on the fender of a tractor. But my daddy ran heavy equipment all his life. I definitely remember riding in the cab with him on our weekends if he had to work. I'll never forget it and ill always cherish it.
Sorry for your loss and thank you for staying true to your roots.
Ain't nothing better than taking good, loving memories and putting some lyrics & six string too, so they will live on forever in our hearts. #YeeYeeNation was here
This means a LOT to me ... thank you for creating and sharing it! ; -)

What a beautiful wholesome song. The video of course was touching. But I could hear the memories and feel the love all wrapped up into the lyrics of this song. Truly special.
Have drove that same tractor on my grandfathers farm, granger you are awesome.
My grandpa past away before I could get the chance to help him with the farm. I wish he was still here, I’d be out there in the field with him

What a powerful song! Thank you for sharing Granger Smith!
Always a Good Day to listen to my buddy Granger Smith!!! Prayers for you bud!
First time hearing this song Granger. Heart wrenching!
WOW! That will take a full grown man back to a young boy sitting on the fule tank of dads old allis. It was a 199. What I would give to make a few laps today with the old man! God bless
Its kinda sad but also happy at the same time
Reminds me of my grandpa. I grew up out there so much. Learned how to drive on the old John Deere and the old pickup. I was too young to take the farm when he had to give it up. Sure do miss that place.
makes you realize how important the little things are in life
hurricances47 a lot of us have always realized it. When you grow up on a tractor it leaves a mark
God bless you Granger Smith , so sorry about your loss
I would love to hear Lee Roy Parnell playing slide to accompany this tune. This is back to your roots stuff Granger. Keep it up!
I don't listen to many slow songs, but this is a good one. I'm sorry for your loss.
Beautiful. Meaningful. Now, with Granger's announcement that he will not be touring anymore, I bet his Dad, Chris, would be well-pleased with Granger's seminary next chapter.
I learn more about fixing vehicles with my grandpa than I did in a class in school
Thank You for this wonderful song.. Miss My Grandpa..
this video should get 1 million likes because this is true country music
this song and 5 More Minutes always get me. I'm fortunate enough to still have my father with me, but he means the world to me. And 5 more minutes gets me because I wish I had 5 more minutes to tell my grandfather how much he meant to me. Always tell your loved ones you love them and how much they mean to you because you just never know.
Beautiful song! Sorry for your loss. It reminds me of my grandpa who died in 08 😢
This song describes my dad. God bless him🇬🇷🙏🏻
This song made me cry!! Reminds me of my son and husband on the tractor
Some people will never know.about being up on tractor..so peaceful
I love your videos 😁😁
Love this song explains why i love tractors so much you get a feeling of freedom when you are up there
I miss my dad too.
Howdy buddy tractor is my favorite song it touches my heart
This is All heart ....I love it...
When I first came across this song 6 years ago on Facebook I instantly thought of my uncle that past in May 2010. He farmed and worked our land, that has been in our family for over 100 years. My dream is to soon be farming the land like he did.
