  • We started this day around 2:30 AM because we wanted to catch a sunrise from Seymour Mountain! We did get up in time and it was an absolutely beautiful sunrise! Seymour was In my oppinion the steepest climb of all my 46. i logged 1700 feet of gain in one mile! I loved this mountain! After Seymour we then moved over to the Seward range. Seward was also very steep and 1/4 of the way up the sky turned black and started raining on us witch only got harded as the day went on. Long story short we completed the seward range through some pretty cold and wet conditions! WE DID NOT BRING RAIN GEAR, so lesson of the day is to always have that rain/wind coat with you at all times because they were not calling for rain and we hiked in t shirts and shorts for hours in 50 degree rain! Epic story tho as we complete high peaks #34,35,36,37! This was day one of vacation and we had the next 4 days straight of hiking to complete the 46! Story 2 and the day after this will be the Santanoni Range witch is an amazing story as well!

    Looking at AllTrails and don't see a trail from Seymour to Seward... did you go back to the bottom and then go up Seward?

    • @BrianHikesAllDay
      @BrianHikesAllDay  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you have to go all the way to the summit of Seymour and then all the way back down. Sewards are a separate range right next to Seymour mountain.. I highly suggest doing Seymour first

    How was your water supply? Did you need to refill on your journey? Great video, so helpful!!

      We each had 3 L on us and we never finished them. Water is definitely not an issue on this route as there is plenty of flowing water along the trail up Seward. It was also cold and rainy so we didn’t sweat as much or use as much fluid
