To be fair, I've played a lot of puzzle games (Sokoban and things like that) where a challenging puzzle can seem actually impossible sometimes, so even if I did conclude that a puzzle was impossible I would not trust my understanding of it.

Seeing it without playing I understand the issue, most of those puzzles you can move any box, but in reality your the mask and it's a push puzzle not a square moving puzzle

Oh 100%, there were definitely some people who thought you could move everything independently (and were very vocal about it)
