EA keeps trying to make the shooting more realistic but in reality they’re making it further from it. They forget screamers like Essien, Van Bronchorst, Ronaldo, happen in real life. In 22 you can barely shoot from outside the box. Fifa 12 had incredible long shots. 18 was really good as well. Shooting has sucked from 19-22. Would much rather it be more fun like the older fifa’s than unrealistically slow like it is now.
From Fifa 19 - 21 all Longshots on this Video were taken volley. Fifa 22 had a massive AI change. Look how noone of the defenders, even the one that is infront of him and does not have an opponent player to cover, cares about Haaland. From year to year the situations you need to score such a Longshot become more obvious, more boring and unfortunately more meta as well :-(
I remember that in 02 you could score a definite goal if you shoot from your half of the pitch because when the ball is there, the other goalie stands way in front, at the edge of their penalty box
FIFA 10 I could score essentially every game from the middle circle with Lampard. Catch it right & it'd float right over the keeper. Always wondered why more people didn't take advantage of it while we had it. Glory days.
earlier Fifa's had no ball drop, so you could shoot the ball from half court without it losing any speed. if you have played special bonus gamemode in Fifa 22 and get the Hard Ball or whatever it is that makes the ball velocity really high, its like that but all the time.

fifa 14 was so easy to score a long-shot goals. u just aim a far top corner while running facing a close corner, so the ball starts spinning and easily gets in.
I really like this vintage look and feel in F07. I hope one day they'll renew the experience and we will be able to lead a carrier through the ages with legend players. And not only under the form of expensive DLC's in FUT.

Just aim 1 foot above the goalies head and it will go in... I still remember FIFA 98 when you could casually nutmeg the keeper from half sometimes. Also I have literally scored the exact same goal with Berbatov and Rooney.
Fifa 15 had the best absolute long shots ever. As long as u knew u had an angle , your player was good, and the weight behind the player matched the angle of the goal u could curve that bad boy in
PC version of FiFA 09, was probably the best PC FiFA game ever for the platform, not only did it had PC specific graphics settings that still look good to this day, but Mouse + Keyboard controls were implemented so good, that I preferred to play using M+K over using controller. Team that worked on that one, should had been made its own studio, working on PC versions of EA Sports games. Also those Live-Action cameras and replays were so much fun back in the day, every goal you scored really felt like a huge deal.
