I’m not a Bruins fan. Florida is my pick to play for the cup. Lauko won’t need new drapes this offseason, Ecklund has that spot secured. Total blown call, but at least the refs are human after all 🎉
This was an easy one gone bad. Even if you add goalie interference, which you shouldn’t, you take Ekblad along for the hold and then you’ve got things under control and only look half wrong. Doing it like this makes you look like you need to find a new job driving the Zamboni or selling hot dogs.
Was there a coin toss to decide who gets the penalty? The inconsistency, throughout the league on officiating this year is perplexing. When you got Panthers fans, Bruins haters and analysts throughout the hockey community calling this out, you know there’s an officiating problem. 4 of them out there, and you get this kind of BS.
I thought this was a terrible call until seeing this video. Lauko ran into the goalie all by himself and made no effort to avoid. Ekblad is pushing Lauko towards the boards, not toward the goalie.
@@willacoleman8036 The rule states the skater must make an effort to avoid contact with the goalie. Instead, Lauko puts himself on a path straight for the goalie in the paint. He created a situation where the only way contact can be avoided is if Ekblad stops defending.

Was a bad call. But not as big a deal given the score and shots on goal. Doesn’t feel like it would have made a difference. I think the fans were just mad at that point (they booed Boston off the ice after the second after all) and looking for something to take their frustration out on. I get why the ref made the call based on what he may have thought happened, but yah, was not the right call.
They had just put it in the best sequence of offensive plays of the entire game seconds before this. If Boston gets a power play or penalty shot from this, they keep their momentum and obviously get a good chance at scoring. Instead they go on PK, get scored on, and THEN put up 2 goals. If they converted on the PP or penalty shot, it would’ve been tie game and a whole new mentality for the Bruins. Obviously we can’t say this call is the reason we lost, but this call is definitely the reason we had no chance of coming back.
As a fan of neither team, it should have been 4 on 4 hockey, with holding on the Panthers and goalie interference on the Bruins being the calls. With the Boston fans throwing stuff on the ice, it could have been whistled for a delay of game penalty with Florida being on the power play.
Par for the course. Meanwhile, the Rangers are flopping like fish whenever a 'Canes player touches them. Then, the refs have the nerve to call embellishment on Carolina. It's obvious that the winner's going to be determined by the sportsbook.
neutral fan, and got no hate on boston but I disagree man. He lost an edge and knew he was most likely gonna end up rolling through the goalie. @@teapea8184As a Bruins fan I agree, they were doing the same thing in games 5 and 6 vs the leafs. Very very VERY small amounts of SOG going into the 3rd periods in that series. I can’t believe they made it past the first round to be honest. They looked good and hungry in game 1 against the panthers but they’re back to square 1…
@@teapea8184 how come the power plays are Florida has 17 powers plays and Boston has 7 than you idiot think before you speak
😅 I like THAT CALL ! You should have a whistle bud .
Worst call I've ever seen
Explain
@@bigfoot163have even the slightest clue about the game of hockey
@@bigfoot163 the only reason Lauko made contact with Bob is because he was held. He took a line right towards the net, so I GUESS I would be fine with penalties on each? But it's DEFINITELY not just a penalty on Lauko.
Either way the game was over before this anyway. At worst both should have went to the box. Dude definitely prob would have smoked the goalie
@@bigfoot163watch the video. Anyone with a single brain cell can see this is a hold on Ekblad
Can’t stand the bruins but holy shit terrible call
you gotta upload macdavid skating into ,i think, hughes when hughes is stationary and back is turned. And hughes get called for interference
This league is almost on MLB Umpire levels of fuckery now
I’m sorry, but no way he’s making it to the top of the crease from that angle, even with the hold.😂
Panthers fan here, ekblad held the shit out of him. Also, I totally understand that the refs want to protect the tendys. And lauko was on a collision course with Bob regardless of ekblad being there. Should have been 4 on 4
Ridiculous call
Bruh this and Bennet obviously punching Marchand in the head makes me side with Bruins and I fucking hate that
you don't go barreling into the net like that. Using the guy on your back as an excuse to bowl over the goalie. Refs saw the charade the whole way...
This has shades of Tim Donaghy…they intentionally gave Florida a PP to seal the game.
The Ref's must have been watching some other game......clueless.
i didn't see any bruins fans throwing themselves on the ice
The Bruins are getting Bruin-d. It’s poetic.
Dan O’Rourke called Brayden Point on the exact same play, pushed into the net by the opposing player, in 2021.
Then he got paired with Chris Lee for Habs/Vegas series and we all know how that went
Angel hernandez with skates
While this didn’t lose us the game ( we played like shit ) I just want to say that the officiating has been dog shit for quite awhile now . I love how on the replay you can see Excblad ( or however you spell it ) clearly grabs Lauko by the jersey … and I mean CLEARLY. And some how the ref who was watching this play didn’t see the clear hold . This leagues officiating doesn’t cut it . If you’re gonna make a call you better be pretty damn sure you know what happens on a play . This is sick . It makes me sick that 4 pairs of eyes somehow go blind all at the same time . Enjoy the win Florida …
The call came in from Toronto for Florida to be given all the advantages for the victory.
Rangers fan here. Yep Ref bet on the game...had Panthers -3 alternative line. Clearly holding and not goalie interference
The league would like to see your evidence.
Not a Bruins fan but that was a bad call! Holding all the way
The Panthers are definitely outplaying us, but this call SUCKED!!
The refs were absolutely terrible. Only thing worse was the bruins. Really just a depressing game all around.
I like when they kept cutting to a camera review from the fucking roof of the stadium for us.
I’m not a Bruins fan. Florida is my pick to play for the cup. Lauko won’t need new drapes this offseason, Ecklund has that spot secured. Total blown call, but at least the refs are human after all 🎉
2:32
P.J. Stock shirt 😎
The refs were almost as bad as Boston out there
Florida is allowed anything amd everything . Your team is NOT
Leafs fan, tuned in to watch a rat-fest but this call was absolutely brutal. One of the refs even signalled for a holding penalty! Wtf is going on.
I have no input in this series but that call is despicable. These refs need to be held accountable
This was an easy one gone bad. Even if you add goalie interference, which you shouldn’t, you take Ekblad along for the hold and then you’ve got things under control and only look half wrong. Doing it like this makes you look like you need to find a new job driving the Zamboni or selling hot dogs.
Ref doesn't belong on the ice. Needs to be cleaning toilets instead
Ekblad is pushing Lauko towards the boards, not toward
the goalie.
In the video you can see lauko putting his arm out trying to make the dude stop holding him
@@willacoleman8036 The rule states the skater must make an effort to avoid contact with the goalie. Instead, Lauko puts himself on a path straight for the goalie in the paint. He created a situation where the only way contact can be avoided is if Ekblad stops defending.
Bruins have every reason to be pissed. Ekblad was holding part of Lauko's jersey and yet only Lauko gets penalized?? Inexcusable. IDK if the game changes momentum had that been correctly assessed, but uh-uh. Terrible call.
What are the repercussions for refs that fuck up this bad?
Typical Boston crybaby behavior. Lots of people with compensation issues out there in the North-east
Refs really shafting the bruins this year
horrible call but it didnt matter.. This game was over in the 2nd! Our D is AWFUL and you cant win with only 8 shots on goal after the 2nd!!
2:48 should have done this game three in Toronto after the two missed calls that lead to a goal
I’m happy because I’m a panthers fan but this is bs
bruins fans threw themselves on the ice? woah that’s some crazy stuff
I LOVE the Boston Bruins… but it’s simple… and I’m gonna quote Shoresy… the boys don’t hate to lose
'that's embarrassing' it sure is. the calls changed with game 2.
Worse than the goalie interference call on Rempe, and that was terrible.
This was a really bad call to cap off a string of very if-y calls.
This has got to be one of the worst calls in NHL history.
neutral fan, and got no hate on boston but I disagree man. He lost an edge and knew he was most likely gonna end up rolling through the goalie. Ekblad had nothing to do with Lauko falling, all he did was make sure Lauko had nowhere else to go except behind the net or through the goalie. Lauko made the decision to pursue a lane that wasnt there.
Just my opinion, so nothing to get mad about.
Not goalie interference, defenseman drives him in, and after they hit the goalie, he goes after him like he didn't drive him into his own goalie
One of the worst calls I’ve ever seen. To call Lauko there is completely unacceptable. And to have a ref call Ekblad for the hold then never report it is completely ridiculous as well.
Yes, so many times I see 9ne Bruin trying to get past 3 Panthers. Where's the rest ofthe team?
Just terrible. This has to be the worst year for officiating in the NHL. This call is the epidemic of bad calls. Bruins can’t catch a break with the refs.
