Hi! Greg, I have SolarEdge system and I just add new EV smart charger but not able to add to my system. My installer can’t help me bec. They always say that they haven’t worked any of the EV charger that connected to the inverter. Any suggestions that will be great. Thanks
Hi , To hook up Solar Edge EV Charger ... you need to have a Solar Edge Inverter that is Storedge , Energy Hub, or Home Hub ---You can check the label on side of inverter... If you have one of these inverters it's pretty simple. Can probably do your self ... or can ask a solar edge installer... If you don't have this type inverter Solar Edge offers an upgrade program that give you a discount... see solar edge website .. Thanks for watching
I like your video but in PA I make more in the hot months LOL July and August the best so far. I’m hoping to get the CT clamps installed for the import/export data.
From San Jose, just got my solar panels up and running after nearly 4 years of delays. I set my battery to run during our peak hours with MySolarEdge app, but it didn’t use the battery, I’m a bit confused. Thank you for your videos.
Thanks for explaining the App. How do I know if I have the latest version, My app looks a lot different from the one you are using. Also currently my Inverter is down - green light blinking (7 days so far). Last year September-October 2022 my system was not producing about 45 days. This year July 2023 the system was down again. The installer came out each time and fixed the system. So that's 3 times, is this common? System went live January 2022. The last time it was a communication chip that was replaced. Not sure about the time before that and not sure about this time. I like your resit video it was very helpful, I'm going to try again tomorrow when it's not raining.
Green blinking light means not producing .. yes try reset video when sun is out ... Not sure about why your having service calls ... could have been defective part or wiring issues ...
Thanks for the reply, yes you are right I have reached out to you in the past year. I went to the Solar Edge web site and entered my serial and was informed that it qualifies for a replacement. So looks like the unit is defective and may get a new one. I will kept you informed. Again thanks for your video and your time.@@solarbygreengreg
My solar edge app is reporting half the power that my tesla app reports. My solar edge app shows that only 1 power invertor is on. Any suggestions. I have solar edge panels with tesla power walls
So it seams like the 2nd inverter was not set up on app.... I suggest either contactiung your solar installer or contact solar edge support in pinned comments ... thanks for watching
I found out that my inverter didn’t have consumption meters installed and apparently that doesn’t allow me to make system changes with the app. I spent a lot of time trying to contact Solar Edge with no success and when I used their chat system it didn’t recognize my inverter serial number so it ended the chat several times. Frustrating!

Hello, my solar edge app shows consumption but nothing for production. When I pull it up on the web browser for my site, it shows my consumption and production. I recently had my optimizers changed out after they quit working. Could that be a dynamic at play, my installer seems stumped. Thanks
@@solarbygreengreg I have tried that. It’s all messed up. Been a nightmare and out of commission for 5 months. When something goes wrong, these solar systems are a pain in the ass. Thanks for the response.

Hello Greg, this is very useful information. My app does not have consumption (just production), plus I have Vision Solar that just went out of business, I was told to reach out to the manufacturer of the solar panels to see if they will take over service. My system seems ok, but the top front of my house the Wh on the panels are dark blue and are at half of the back of the roof panels. I do not know who to call to understand if my system is working properly at full capacity since Vision Solar went out of busines.....Oh I am in Pennsylvania!!
Any installer that services Solar Edge can help. you can also contact Solar Edge for support: 1(510) 498-3200. Regarding consumption this is only an option if you have Solaredge Storedge inverter or Energy HUB --- see label on right side of inverter. If you have this type then a pair of CT's need to be installed.
Im having CTs installed soon. But what do I need to do so I can see my panels and what each is generating? My app onlu shows production until my CTs get installed alongside my batteries.
Your installer needs to set up and give you access to SolarEdge monitoring … you will be able to see production. Of each solar panel and total production .. if you have Storedge or home hub inverter you can get consumption monitoring if the installer adds a Second set of CTs
What lights are you seeing ? If not solid green then something wrong … if flashing green might be a wiring problem .. if no lights make sure all breakers and switches on If still no lights inverter may have had power surge and need replacement
Ok flashing green means not producing … it’s likely a breaker tripped on roof top or a wiring issue on roof … you will have to get a solar contractor to look at it
From San Jose, just got my solar panels up and running after nearly 4 years of delays. I set my battery to run during our peak hours with MySolarEdge app, but it didn’t use the battery, I’m a bit confused. Thank you for your videos.
Mmmm please check and see if you have battery set to time of use settings … in Cali ideally you want to charge battery when lots is sun and Utility pay low rate for export … in high cost times like evening you want to discharge bettery - so you avoid paying for high cost electric rates. I suggest trying solar edge support or get a solar contractor to look at it
Why did you say you’re using some from the electric company at the moment when you battery was 100% charged? Shouldn’t it be feeding from the battery then?
Good question... the battery in this case was set to backup mode only ... which means it will only use battery if utlity power goes out ... This is because home is in FL where a storm or hurricane can take power down .. customer wants to have battery for these events. There are other modes available such as time of use .. For example let's say electric cost high 4pm -7pm the solar edge can be set to use battery during that high cost time, this saves money This mode used often in Califortnia. ... there are other modes too .... so just because battery is charged doesn't mean run off battery, thanks for watching.
Watching from Hudson Valley, NY. My SolarEdge app doesn't show the per-panel view, which I thought was interesting. Also I've noticed a difference between the production numbers I see in the mobile app vs. what I see in the website view. My installer says a firmware upgrade is coming to my inverters imminently, but I thought you'd have an opinion.
The per panel view and roof layout this needs setup in app by installer .. I would requesty access to this . Not sure why difference in production mobile vs Solar edge website maybe there is a delay pushing the data .
