Kane has been ripping into JHF all year and as soon as he signs with port he feels he needs to defend him. Call it for what it is. Every #1 draft pick goes to the worst team (excluding academy/father son etc). JHF chose not to commit to a club that needed him.

Kingy knows exactly what has been going on. He also knows that JHF didn't make himself popular within the playing group with his attitude. I think JHF expected to set the AFL alight, but he was rarely sighted. It wouldn't have been easy to stand out in games playing for a usually badly beaten North, but he should have shown a lot more than he did.

Everyone having a go at North I think is unfair. This kid is talented but an absolute rotten egg. Unlike JHF, Clarkson is a serial winner and I have absolutely no doubt that his first order business was to trade this toxic kid out. This is a player they weren’t prepared to swap pick 2/3 for on talent alone, that they’re now prepared to swap for 2/3 and another #1 pick on character. He wanted to go number 1. Disrespected the club, senior players, coach and clearly has a long way to go to understand the standards required (most importantly respect and team work) to be one of the best players in the AFL, let alone the best. Top picks should be super talented but also be natural born hard workers and future leaders of the club. JHF is not a leader, he’s an egomaniac. If you want to be the best then walk the talk and win or at least be in contention for the rising star, don’t get dropped to the VFL, cause tumult all season with your struggling teammates and take pot shots on the way out saying there’s “gonna be instability at North next year”. As if you care about contributing to a stable environment. JHF is a first on the life raft kinda guy, not the type you need to win a flag.

JHF has led North up the garden path when he said he wanted them to pick him as the #1 pick in last year's draft. He never had any intentions to stay at the club beyond his initial two year contract. Having been 'coached' by Noble for most of his first season simply brought his departure forward by a year. His performances for North were lacklustre at best and he was a major disappointment. His lack of commitment to the club and disrespect for other players has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. It is for that reason that I don't wish him well in the future and hope that he doesn't live up to Port's expectations of him. I don't want to be thinking about what might have been if he becomes a star of the AFL. His self entitled attitude might get in the way of his ability.

After that he zoomed up the draft ratings because he showed a lot of great attributes that made you think he was a bullet proof champion in the making.
