Hello! Im the lead artist and guy who made the tooltips for the mod we will most probably add voltage limits/requirements and thanks for the praise and critique!
The electrical part of this is super realistic, speaking from an electrical engineering student. I don't know when stuff explodes until it explodes and then I go back and read the manuals for 30 minutes.
As a soon to graduate computational engineer; most data sheets are very clear on working parameters, they have it all either on the first or couple last pages; at least in my experience Resistors are standardized on capacity through size and all other basic components are annotated on their surfaces
As someone who's got a background in electrical engineering, seeing practically every block blow up when it's directly connected to the stator, I'm like "Yeap, that's about right."
@@AnkleBiter3854 Well, the stator is converting lots of the rotational energy into electrical energy. So to use an analogy, we have an effective Niagara Falls of electricity there. When we shove a singular load, it's like we're forcing the entire waterfall stream into something like a kitchen faucet, fire hose, wooden water wheel, etc. Pretty much everything except an industrial array of steel water turbines. So, the devices break down from overload of energy, melt, short circuit, and finally explode like an Electro Boom video.
10:13 Microelectronics engineer here, if you pass too much voltage through an electronic component, it does in fact, blow up. I remember accidentally popping so many chips just because someone pulled a prank (usually lowering my amps to 0 while I am not looking) or I forgot to double check the voltage. I KNOW THE BLUE SMOKE!
@@nyxiis624 as I can understand floating parts are things that should appear on blocks/multiblocks to show that it's ready/working. But for some reason they appearing with insane offset
It's a great mod, I've used it before, but it just doesn't produce that much SU for the amount of automation needed. And it's really confusing. Devs definitely need to polish it up a bit
Having some experience with the mod, if i may, i would like to give out some information: Supplying diesel engine with lube and coolant not only increases stress capacity, but also fuel efficiency, akin to reducing throttle on two-block engines As for why the huge coil generator produces so much more volts, i have an entire forum in official The Factory Must Grow discord, which explain everything. In short, coil generates volts in quadratic relationship, meaning double the speed = quadruple the volts. Exact formula is Voltage = (RPM/10)^2 * 10. Voltage is also a reason things keep blowing up. Wires can sustain 6000V, batteries and capacitors 1500V, and neon tubes 300V.
So my comment vanished, will try to reply again, in short Discord link is on modpage, "just google it"™ The mod uses FE, so it is compatible with every other mod that uses energy, and is 1:1 with RF (it is the same as FE) The transfer rate is limited to 10k FE/t, as that is the maximum internal storage of cable
the blast furnace really reminded me of the immersive engineering blast furnace, with it taking ages to make coke and making creosote in the process(which can also be used to make treated wood for casing)
The steel casting system reminds me of Tinkers Construct, which makes me happy. I miss the smeltery, I had an idea to reimplement that system as a Create addon but I have no idea where to even begin when programming a Create addon
I do like the rotor and the stator set up, it seems like this mod combines a lot of stuff from Immersive Engineering and that modes Petroleum add-on into Create
I've also been using this mod, and i beleive you can increase the SU generation in the configs which make it work pretty well, though alot of the features definitely need polishing. Great mod though! Definitely fun to automate/ work out
steel is actually easy to get (you get 9 out of 3 crushed iron, which is easy with some crimsite), only annoying part is getting enough fluids for smart fluid pipe filters (steel and slag)
Its the create version of immersive Petroleum! I've been considering making a full create modpack and this mod is basically the final piece i needed to start considering moving away from immersive engineering as a whole....i dont think i WILL tho because im accustomed to IE but i dont expect the shift would be difficult
I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure you can ABSOLUTELY generate more SU than with normal create, or atleast more for less cost. This addon requires you to build massive machines.
"because if I know my gregtech..." is a sentence that borderline scares me edit: since then I started playing nomifactory... now I also know my gregtech petrochem
I agree the engine outputs don’t seem worth the trouble and i wish they would improve that. im also not sure how to get above 60% efficiency. However, electricity as a late game thing could be very useful-one centralized power plant to make FE and voltage, then when you run a factory or whatever set up, you can just use a few electric motors simplifying the setup immensely, instead of having a nightmare of cogs and shafts and gearboxes
60% efficiency out of an internal combustion engine is _massive_ considering the most efficient real world engines are only about 50%, and that's the 1.6L Turbo Hybrid from the Mercedes F1 car. 60% is the theoretical limit however, and most engines that aren't millions of dollars in a multi-million dollar race car, with another million dollar hybrid system hanging off the back of it, only have an efficiency of between 20 and 35%.
hey ive played a game called industrialist and i wanted to make gold and plastic but the first thing i had to produce is crude oil so i unlocked it and got the achievement "american dream"
Also you should check out Create: Destroy, greggiest addon so far imo, theres an extraction system just like this also chemistry which is so complex its not fun sometimes.
10:15 🤦.. Capacitors are temporary storage, they are not banks. They are those little cylinders in the circuit board with a colored cover around. They will absolutely blow up if you overpower them for too long which is why they always have resistors behind. Now circuit board capacitors, small capacitors won’t explode like a bomb but a industrial capacitor is eager to blow your eyeballs out 👍
fun fact: that IS what gardening looks like. kkinda. Flamethrowers are a gardening tool. They're used for burning up dead crop and such, which actually helps with the soil's fertility
