  • I took the Iryo First Class train from Madrid to Barcelona Sants, the cost for my one way ticket was just under £60 which was incredible value.
I hope you enjoy the video and stayed tuned for next weeks video where I review The Caledonian Sleeper

What a great short film, thank you. I’d heard about Spain’s amazing fast speed train network. Wow, the standards are good - leather seats, Rioja, hot towel etc I’m traveling to Sevilla soon and will want to try one of these Iryo trains. The UK has a lot to learn and progress!!

Wow you certainly get around! Trying to catch up on your vlogs. The train journey from Madrid to Barcelona looked fantastic and hope that made up for your Caledonian experience! The food looked great, especially finishing with my 2 must haves, coffee and chocolate! LNER and other operators, could learn a thing or two from those Spanish trains, especially timetabling/service/travel experience! I'm travelling down to London from Alnmouth(live in Alnwick), in May & June, also a trip back up to Glasgow, via Edinburgh, so will be doing a bit of train travelling myself. Great also to see a bit of the Spanish countryside and impressed how fast the train travelled. Great vlog! 😊 👍

This needs to be shown to Australian politicians so they can see that fast rail is achievable. The distance between Madrid and Barcelona is similar to the distance between Melbourne and Sydney. If people could catch a train between Sydney and Melbourne for 100 Australian Dollars, the train would be a roaring success

Hi Ian, with it being one of the busiest flight routes, the demand is there and it would seem like a no brainier
Maybe the politicians haven’t been given enough back hand cash yet to make it happen 👀🤷🏻

How strict are they with luggage? I know they have required sizes but what if you are a little over the required suitcase size?

Hi TTG, I don’t recall them checking luggage at all to be honest 🤦
Some people definitely had suitcases but they just wheeled them on board with no checks once past security.
