Old post, but did they use motion capture like they did for prt 1? All of the actors, facial expressesions would have been coded into the characters I think
I love the game to death even though I usually can't stand Zombies and it's for sure the best playable interactive movie I've ever played. Regardless whether you agree with the story. I specificly love it for it's tragic moments.

I'm glad other people appreciated this moment as much as I did - after the back to back gut-punch of the Jackson scene and then seeing the aftermath, reading Ellie's journal, etc, this scene was so needed.
nope this games story sucks they completely forgot what made the first games story good and killed off the best character and introduced a bunch of new ones that youre not attached to whatsoever

I was so worried about Ellie's behavior with Joel, but this scene, and the scene on the theater shows us very clearly how much she loves him, and also, shows us that Ellie had already forgiven Joel. The fact that she keeps singing the same phrase "If I ever were to lose you, I'd surely lose myself (...)" is here to show us that she understands why Joel saved her life. And that is why she goes in this VERY LONG path of revenge. But also, this is the reason why she couldn't kill Abby in the end, cuz her journey was not only a way to overflow her hate, it was also a path of learning. Although she took a very long time to assimilate, in the end Ellie saw that Abby had the same reasons and motivations to kill Joel, as her own to kill Abby - she also saw that Abby is far from being a monster. She is just a human, and a survivor like Ellie herself.
I hope part 3 or a dlc might come but remember Elli is still young and she just made peace with her thirst for revenge. She has all the time she needs to make things right with Dina again.

Roaming round with both Ellie and Dina in the earlier part of the game is my favourite part of it. It is the warmth of the first game. I love the entire thing, but this section was really nice. I’m happy we got to witness this segment.

I wasn’t really a fan of the sequel’s story but I know very well that the developers worked their asses off to make the gameplay amazing and the voice actors as well. Tbh I think ppl were too blinded by Joel's death they lost the meaning of the game. Cant argue they would make the story a little better by changing the events . This game is so freaking dark and leaves you with so many thoughts in the end. Coming from a guy that was in the side of the ultra hate team before playing it

I didn't like this games story, but I will say, there are moments, that on their own, are beautiful. I really like the way Ellie sings and plays here, with not much confidence or strength. I took it as her still being very shaken up and weakened, from her grief , very well done. I keep singing this now around the house, in this slow style.
