Watching Levy like frantically gesture/mark the board on what could potentially be played while NL takes a year to make a move on turn 5 is just fantastic. Grade A entertainment.
Levy casually showing the potential plans of the position with the arrows is pretty useful and interesting. The facial reactions at each idea is beautifully entertaining. loving the content and now a separate idea, compilation of funky levy faces
I wasn't sure about this series to start with, but the great post-game analysis along with the idea works on dual points, because they make mistakes you wouldn't and then you take over which helps us learn how to recover from a weakened position too. Also helps Northern Lion has a similar rating to me :P You the man Levy, keep rolling out the content!
I'm glad Levy is aware of his fan base. Alot of influencers make edgy or controversial content not understanding their fan base is on the younger side and very impressionable. This is part of the reason Levy blew up so quick. It was putting in the hard work and being a genuine creator.
This video was fantastic. The games are high-level with analysis, and we see a legendary move not even a Guess The Elo submission would play: Fianchetto the knight.
My 2 cents: 20 moves or 1 min remaining (or some other set time constraint), then take over. Everyone seemed uncomfortable/frustrated when the guest went past the 1 min mark.
I think your input during the game is very useful. It can also become a little dull if you're just relaying the moves so chatting a bit helps a lot. The first episode was very fun to watch that way.I don't think it should be considered cheating. Its just like when you're coaching someone for pogchamps.Great series as always
hey levi love this series, I dont play chess or watch any other content creators beside you but i usually get lost on the move count, not that it matters most of the time but for elo swap kinda matters if ur going in soon or not. So im asking if u can to add a move count till 20 at least , ty for all the content :D
It would probably make the episode really long, and it also is up to how much time the guest has, but I would love it if you analysed the game together after it's over.
The part "And this is known as..." around 27:40 is so hilarious - I was thinking the whole time what are you talking about and you actually saying "Zugzwang" which is german and bascially means something like a forced move.
This was a really fun one. I'm not too far off NL's skill level, so it was a lot of fun to see how things changed when you took over as well as the analysis was very instructive for me. Being forced to fish for a draw against a 1600 was a very good sort of tension here.
Great series, Levy! I'd love to see a "reverse ELO swap", where you play the first 20 moves against a strong GM then someone like Hikaru or Magnus takes over.
You should make this series permanent (or at least as long as you have done guess the elo). I think we can all agree that elo swap is a great series. Keep doing what your doing levy (;
I hear you man whenever I play daily games sometimes 48 hours between moves and i've completely forgetting my ideas that were winning then i make the wrong move and then I Lose.
seems like an excellent instructive series which is what I personally look for the most! That save was unbelievable... We can study as many openings as we can but if we can spot those clutch moves and find the correct tactics... Brilliant stuff Levy. Watched the whole video! Thank u so much!
You should make a video about pushing the right pawn. I've lost endgames up 3 connected pawns because I somehow find the worst way to my push pawns and everything falls apart
49:34 I love these little arguments with the computer… I do the same thing but I’m like 1000 blitz 😂😂 the computer proves to me that I’m stupid frequently…
"I'm going to make a quick move here and win you some time so I thinkkkk I mightttt consider the possibility of maybeeeee goinngggg let's seeeee *30 second later* KING SIDE CASTLE"
At 16:16 if he did play knight c2 then he may have been able to promote his pawn because if the rook captured it would be forked with the king by playing knight a3. But I mean the opponent could have prevented it
Woaaah! ELO swap, I am so happy you did a 2nd one!! I never comment (sorry, tee-hee) and watch your videos every day but this right here... This is freeeesh! So instructive to see you coach someone after they started with their own game plan.
@14:36 Levy should have taken the bishop and then moved the knight to c3 it was winning. Cant believe he missed it, even I saw it and im like 1200 rated.
I liked that you commentated during the play of northernlion actually i was about to click away but the second game made me watch the whole video thx for new content Levy keep it up
i'll probably start listing what i learned in these videos from now on in this video i learned to pay more attention on how easily queen gets trapped diagonally and how that can be exploited in suffocating positions if you still have your bishop of the correspondent color the queen is attacking.
The way Levy said "Again, an opportunity presents itself to blunder a rook." just cracked me up and I have no idea why. Thank you Levy for your unintentionally (or intentionally) hilarious command of the English language.
This will set back levy 50 Elo thus delaying his grandmother status

@@JulDYT No he doesn't

Liking the new series. I think 20 moves on lower rated and 15 against higher rated is fairer
