Whether or not he's improving, all the time he's spending on chess is definitely giving his bank account a material advantage. As long as the funds flow in, there wouldn't be a real reason to stop. That's just how I see it though.

For most of us, I don't think spending 5 hours per day for 2 years is worth it to become good at chess. Just think if we spent a fraction of that time in the gym or something.
I always get sibling energy when you two play or just interact with each other. We definitely need more content of you together. In my opinion the two most likeable chess content creators out there :)
Interested how no one talked about levy and how his language towards himself is so self deprecating. I like him, he’d be up with Hikaru if he had more confidence and gave positive self affirmation
And now, 10 months later, he played a week-long competition with Pia and I think learned some useful things from her about how to have some more confidence and positive self-affirmation. It cycles around.
I so much want Anna to win more and get her rating up but in the other hand I want her to just go back to the park and play for fun. She blows the dust off a game that bogged down in politics and seriously miserable players. Her enthusiasm and joy must be bringing more people to the game. Even if she never gets grand master she is a super enthusiastic chess educator and that can't be bad. But I want her to be a master chess player and super educator!
Hikaru says Levy has potential but he has to change his mindset and take more risks when player against higher level opponents to improve and have a chance to further grow to have any chance to reach GM level. Unfortunately, Levy lacks confidence in himself.

He starts to second guess what he technically knows is the right response instead of just looking for the best response.
They should these things clockless and just make moves naturally. So not taking ages to plan everything out, but that would make more entertaining battles in these skirmishes. I get that a clock is important in matches but when playing your friends or family just dont clock

Anna, I need help. I have been playing chess since 2017. I have been attending the chess club since October 2022. Before my attendance, I wasn't playing very good chess, so I feel that I've wasted my time. I went from 650 up to 840. Since then I dropped to 550 over a month. Im not sure what I am doing wrong. I am following the basic fundamentals like castling, trying to take the 4 middle squares, dispersing my pieces on the board and leaving the queen until later on in the game. I feel like I have chess blindness. What do I do?
@@mango7753 chess just has a different set of skills that doesn't come easy to everyone. I can't get past 500 and I've been trying on and off for about a year. I'm not good at pattern recognition. For sure you can get better but maybe I'm just not passionate enough to take chess lessons. But I'm super smart in a lot of other stuff and still take online courses for fun. For some reason I just suck at chess
I am honestly confused on how this is possible. I climbed from 600 to 1200 now pushing 1300 in like 6 months and I feel like I can definetily keep climbing. Watch YT vids, I usually talk to myself aloud when I want to play super solidly because then I can hear if my plans are bullshit or not. Look for what your oponent wants to do and either play to stop your oponent or play safely around their plan creating counterplay. Analyse your games and try to remember patterns so that you can see what went wrong and remember it for future matches. This is some tips from a scrub but still might help
