Hello everyone! Thought I’d try something a bit different and share a little music-making tip, rather than patches :) Feel free to let me know what you think of this, and if you’d like to see more! Cheers.

Hehe - Design Thinking meets Modular - like it!
Yes, haha, wanted to try some of this :)
Thank you. You are SO good at this. Over the 3yrs of my modular journey, your videos have helped me more than anything else.
Thank you! Very nice to hear the videos helped out on your journey, that's what makes it wort it! Cheers :)
I love the Syntrx. And the SQ-1.
Me to! :) Cheers!
Thank you for being willing to share so much of your skills and mindset. It means so much.
You're verry welcome! And thanks for letting me know, reactions like yours make it worth the effort to make and share these :) Cheers!
All hail deliberate practice!!!
Looking forward to sharing my results...
Haha, indeed! And yes, please do! :)
I remember reading that this is sort of how Jimi Hendrix wrote lyrics to his songs. He would write one or two lines on a piece of paper and then just leave those all over his desk (or where ever). Then he would pull a few together and tweak them into actual lyrics. This may not be true, but it certainly make sense.
Haha, nice story in any case! Can imagine there's some interesting things that could come out of that. But do believe the process could work in some ways :)
Brianna Eno’s card game, Oblique Strategies is also good to get out of a rut.
Good tip! That's fun as well, and can be an assists in multiple situations, as well as offer more context or thought around compositions. Worth checking out!
@@MonotrailTechTalk I often play music with other non musician performer (dancer, visual artists etc.) and most cards can apply to wider, not-only-musical context. There's even an a version for phone app
Wow! This beautiful track based on just two short ideas. That starting point goes a long way.❤
Hey, thanks for the kind words! Hope you'll give it a shot :)
This is fantastic! I was doing this but you’re giving me structure. Thank you!
Glad to hear it! All the best :)
This is great stuff. Thanks!
You're very welcome! Cheers :)
Very nice
Glad you liked it!
Very nice ending patch!
Thanks for listening! The tip alone was ending up pretty compact, because I don't like to stretch things out. Adding some music was a fun solution :)
@@MonotrailTechTalk agreed
Could've used this last month! ;) I'll definitely be taking these tips moving forward as I hope to keep some jams going throughout the year!
Nice. glad to hear it! Let me know if you make something :) Cheers!
Big love good sir! you've helped me tremendously on my eurorack journey 🙏
Glad to hear it! Enjoy, and all the best :)
Great idea even if you have tons of ideas. It keeps you focused without overcomplicating things!
Glad you like it! And true, even when you have enough ideas in general it can be good to collect and just have fun with simple ideas :)
Very inspiring thanks for a great idea. Always love your vids 👍
Glad to hear it, thank you so much! :)
As an extension, you can also collect single ideas and then randomly combine them!
Agreed! I showed that with the list and the two dice, that's pretty fun to do :)
Cool, thanks for sharering….👍
You're very welcome, thanks for watching!
This is great. I like this idea a lot and would have never thought of it...
Long time lurker of your channel, and I believe first time commenter. Your channel has been super helpful. You deserve all the success!
Hey, thanks for the comment! Glad you like the videos, and as long as people are enjoying these I will try and keep it up :)
🙏❤😊
Thanks!
Good tutorial!
Glad to hear it ! :)
This is awesome. As I am a beginner in modular, and all of my modules are diy (and therefore quite basic/utility like) I can see myself using your idea to practice. It’s seems a lot less daunting to create a short musical idea than it is to write a complete track. Thanks!
Glad you like it! And indeed I often find limitation really helps to get started with something and just have fun with it :) Hope you'll make something!
Great idea; thanks! I already collect ideas, but this more formalised process makes sense. 😊
You're welcome! Helped me as well! Instead of just having a bunch of thoughts and ideas in my head, this leads to a physical list you can let go and get back to any time :)
@@MonotrailTechTalk 👌😊
🙌🙌👍
Thanks :)
About that list of prompts... Does "use anyway you like" includes re-publishing them on a music game wiki? (attributed ofc)
Sure, feel free! Where possible, link to the video! But share a you like :)
He don’t smoke weed for sure😂
Card Game? 😅
Haha, maybe! :)
