This video details our journey as we looked for and eventually bought a home in the beautiful mountains of Puerto Rico. #puertorico #utuadopuertorico #islandlife
I was in P.R. in June 2024 with my family vacationing after 30 years since last visiting. Although I wasn't born in P.R. my mother, father and brother were all born there. When there I had an overwhelming feeling of being home with my people. I felt completely torn when I had to go back home. Since then I havent stopped thinking of my island and its immense beauty.
@@jojonico11 thanks for sharing this. Honestly I totally get it. I have been to many different countries and places and PR is like no other. Once I left after the first trip many years ago I felt a draw like no other and it seemed like the universe was giving me signs constantly. I’m in NY at this very moment keeping the dream alive but I will be back full time in November and just got back from spending almost a month at the house two weeks ago. I lived there full time almost a year and I have lived the rest of my life in NY but now I feel more at home there and have so many very close friends there now.

@@josecarreras3412 it’s our home although I had to come back to work my wife stayed and we will both be back full time in November. We just had some unforeseen issues in NY.
There are some sad situations in some of the coastal areas of Puerto Rico where communities of gringos have bought up the property and built big expensive homes and priced the natives out of apartment buildings and such so I do agree with you in that respect however we bought in the middle of nowhere the house was priced very modestly because it had been on the market for over a year. The realtor stated that no one wanted to buy it because of the mountain roads to get to the house. Also these groups of rich gringos on the coast that have built up these communities and made prices skyrocket (because natives are selling there properties for unheard of price to them) are in Puerto Rico because of the government of Puerto Rico offered them a tax haven that they are taking advantage of. Just so your recognize there is a huge difference in us as blue collar workers buying a home in the mountains and the millionaire that is paying unheard of money to the native sellers for top dollar. Either way the situations in these communities is sad and it sucks that the Puerto Ricans native to pr’s own government made this situation happen.
Thanks so much that means a lot. We definitely have been blessed to have ment so many incredible welcoming people and also met a lot of people and friends through doing social media
Well, Welcome to the island guys! You got a nice one there, beautiful house and view! I think I saw a Marines logo on the back of your shirt so if you are a veteran welcome brother,a U.S. Army veteran here, we are a few thousands of veterans here in Puerto Rico! Enjoy our culture guys, we are a small country but we have a beautiful history and culture! 🙋🏻♂️
Thanks so much! That is actually an American welding society shirt although my best friend who has been to the house several times is a marine. I have videos I will be posting of us jumping at charcoal los morones.
The culture is what brought us. It reminded me of the right community I experienced when I was q child in the states that seems to be mostly missing these days.

The views are different but equally amazing all over sometimes I have to remind my local friends that they don’t always see the beauty because they are so used to it but love for there beautiful island is never a shortage.
@@PR12379 well I will say this. We bought the place in 2020 it was on the market for over a year and the price had been dropped significantly. The realtor said that people didn’t like the road (which is all paved) but the thing is we love the road it is safe but you have to drive up a mountain to get a beautiful view like this. I can honestly say we have put a lot of money and sweat and work (which I will be doing videos on) and I wouldn’t sell the house for double what we payed. I see houses now that aren’t as nice with no view for more than what we paid.

TikTok has been fun and we have meant some great people and I plan on to continue posting there but have always wanted to try doing something on here. I recognize you from TikTok and hope that you are able to come back to the island soon. We have some plans in the future if this channel does good enough like having some meet ups and stuff but time will tell. God bless!
I hope you are able too. Unless it’s because you absolutely can’t travel because of your health then make it happen.

MY HOME TOWN UTUADO
Awesome man! Thanks for sharing. I will be putting plenty of Utuado base content on here so if your interested stay tuned.
GOD bless PUERTO RICO 🇵🇷 🙏🏻 my beautiful island.Congratulations🎉 Enjoy your new house.
💯💯🇵🇷🇵🇷🙏🙏
You need solar panels, the power goes out a lot in the island. I also have a cistern on top of my roof, because when power goes out there is no water pressure.
Once you have that, either a solar panel system or a generator and a cistern, you are set.
@@glorisol3805 yes this was almost five years ago that we bought the house I now have a cistern and a good generator still might do solar in the future. Thanks for watching.
Congrats on your new home,it's beautiful! My family left the island in 1965 when i was 12yrs old and i still miss my home,i am 72 now...Enjoy your new home and thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for sharing! We have done a thorough n of work on the place since these videos. Puerto Rico is such a beautiful island with some amazing people. Where on the island did you live? I hope you travel back to your home soon.
@@bridgetopr Love your vids...I was born in Ponce,my mother was born in Jayuya and lived in Utuado which is next to Jayuya.
@ thanks so much. Jayuya is beautiful and our home is in Utuado barrio Sabana grande. I have a friend who lives in Ponce who also has a farm in Utuado. I’ll be posting a video soon on some beautiful places around Utuado.
@ Have you visited the Caguana ceremonial park yet? It celebrates the Taino Indians that were living in that area until columbus came and wiped them all out? There are two such parks in PR,one in Ponce and the other in Utuado. My mother's side of the family were descendants of Tainos. I've been to both. I look forward to more of your vids!
@ yes we have gone there it’s very spiritual feeling there. We also have gone to the caves in caguama on the tamaña river absolutely mind blowing.
Congratulations! Great house, beautiful view. One thing for sure you will never be hungry, everywhere you look you see fruits and vegetables specially if you have land. It seems you have great neighbors too.
@@obear3000 thanks so much! You are right there is so much food on the trees and in the ground. I have learned so much since 2020 when we bought the house and your right we have amazing neighbors!
@ I am really happy for you and your wife. Just bought property in Puerto Rico as well, looking forward to enjoy the island specially during Christmas o Navidad like we say 😊 Also i subscribed to your channel.
@ congratulations!!! El mejor Navidad on the planet. Happy for you guys!
THAT LOOK LIKE SABANA GRANDE IN UTUADO
Yes sir you are correct!
Very nice!!! Good luck!!!
@@DavidPacJr thanks!
Thank you!
@@bridgetopr you’re welcome!
@@ChristyDillenbeck you’re welcome
What's a Maria, tree? I'm from PR, and never heard of it.
😆 I looked it up once it has another name and Nick name Santa Maria but native to PR. I am no expert but this man has so much knowledge on everything. He taught me to dig ñame and he knows the plants and trees so I have no doubts.
Whoo is your realtor?
We used Marilyn Riviera torres. MRT real estate.
Its your house or your second home? 6 months in usa and 6 monts in PR ?
@@josecarreras3412 it’s our home although I had to come back to work my wife stayed and we will both be back full time in November. We just had some unforeseen issues in NY.
Beautiful place. But prepare the house with solar panels because the power goes out when bad weather.
We would like to do that eventually. I have a good generator but solar would be nice.
I’m sure you get a fantastic view of the sky above at night, so you better get a telescope. enjoy it 🔭
@@thebower9757 we do and we bought one. It’s awesome!
This is how it starts .. while natives are being forced out of the Island!
Concrete soild structure it's a fortress good investment wellcome home with love from all of us here in puerto rico.
Thanks so much that means a lot. We definitely have been blessed to have ment so many incredible welcoming people and also met a lot of people and friends through doing social media
❤❤❤ thank you
Well, Welcome to the island guys! 🙋🏻♂️
@@juniorbor5888 thank you!
Thanks so much! That is actually an American welding society shirt although my best friend who has been to the house several times is a marine. I have videos I will be posting of us jumping at charcoal los morones.
Also thanks for your service. My friend actually served part of his enlistment in PR but never got to explore until he came with us.
The culture is what brought us. It reminded me of the right community I experienced when I was q child in the states that seems to be mostly missing these days.
Welcome? Yeah right they can freaking leave! Someone will make sure they leave.
GO HOME GRINGOS!
Scorpions????.jesusssss cuidado

@@carmencastellano8575 Thanks. We bought the house back in 2020 we moved here beginning of 2023 and I ended up coming back to work in NY about a year later because I had stuff I had to take care of here in NY and my wife stayed she came back to NY six months ago so we could be together and we are working on one last project together here in NY so I started this TH-cam with old content but we also were just there for a month and be back soon again and will be back full time in November. The goal is to keep putting out videos every week or two with content I already have and also new content so stay tuned and thanks for watching.

Wow!!!Looks amazing you guys are blessed I’m Puerto Rican and wish I had this view my mother has a house in Guayama that’s the south and when I used to climb in the roof u can see the ocean and places like el Corazón it’s in Guayama but higher you can see the whole city I use to love it but you guys have a beautiful home and friends or neighbors you guys are so blessed and God bless you guys enjoy the new home 🥰
Thanks for sharing this we really need to get over to that part of the island as we haven’t been to that part yet. The views are different but equally amazing all over sometimes I have to remind my local friends that they don’t always see the beauty because they are so used to it but love for there beautiful island is never a shortage.
God bless! ❤
How much did you pay for the house?
@@PR12379 well I will say this. We bought the place in 2020 it was on the market for over a year and the price had been dropped significantly. The realtor said that people didn’t like the road (which is all paved) but the thing is we love the road it is safe but you have to drive up a mountain to get a beautiful view like this. I can honestly say we have put a lot of money and sweat and work (which I will be doing videos on) and I wouldn’t sell the house for double what we payed. I see houses now that aren’t as nice with no view for more than what we paid.
Pray a lot during hurricane season. Good luck.
Yes we always do. God bless
