  • Come along with us on our house hunting adventure in Puerto Rico! There are a lot of differences when purchasing a home in Puerto Rico as compared to the mainland. We hope this video can help you through the home buying process in Puerto Rico if you are looking to buy a house here.

      Congrats on the house! Very cool video as well. You mentioned that a realtor told you that everyone is trying to move to Puerto Rico now. Is there a particular reason for why that is? I have heard a lot about tax breaks, so I'm wondering if that's what is attracting people now.

      Thank you!! Yes a lot of people are moving for the tax benefit also I think just a lot more people are starting to discover it. It’s a really beautiful place with ocean, mountains and a lot of nature and the people are super warm and welcoming!

      You right about saying God plans. His plans is greater than our plans.. I went to pr didn't find anything. All waiting.. this was las year 2021. A year later the landlord sold me his apt.. I couldn't believe it.. now I go pr again and take my time to look around. Caguas, Aibonito is the town I will love to live. God bless & stay bless....

    Welcome to Puerto Rico! Watching this brought back a lot of memories of when we were house hunting over a decade ago and we finally found our little slice of paradise too. Many houses here are sold with cash to avoid a lot of the hassles and setbacks you guys went through (and we went through some too). But you made it! Congrats! We go and explore Puerto Rico all the time so check out our channel if you want some inspiration on places to go too.

    Any recommendations on what bank to use for 100% loan for a lot in Puerto Rico? I have a down payment but can't come up with the reminder untill I retire in 2 years. I would love to buy something now and pay it slowly but banks in PR only offer 30% loans to buy land.

    What's Puerto Rico like in terms of safety and freedom? I feel like I want to live somewhere warmer (now in Liverpool UK) and I am wondering where it led be. Loads of love and many blessings! 🤗🧡🧡🧡

      We love it so far! Very peaceful. We live in Guaynabo area it’s more in the country side - from what we have experienced so far it is the same safety as any major city in the US. It also depends a lot on where you live, there are definitely safer areas than others…where we live is considered a safer area same with neighborhoods like Condado, Dorado, Fajardo, Guaynabo, and Rincón those are usually the ones recommended for people wanting to move. Majority of neighborhoods in these areas are gated communities and the houses also have gates. We love it because the weather is amazing and you can eat outside in most places, so far we have experienced that everyone is very welcoming and warm. I highly recommend coming to visit and check it out for yourself! Old San Juan is also a stunning place to check out 💗

      @@itsdreak oh what a wonderful detailed answer Andrea! Thank you so so much for sharing this with me! We've moved twice this year after a very stressful series of events and I really feel like staying in one place for a while. But you know, my body is also asking for a warmer climate like so badly 😂. I'm from Northern Spain and I love the Canary Islands. But there's been a lot predictions about natural desasters to do with water, close to the sea...and that makes me doubt my own desire to go there a bit, since it's already showing to be true in many areas... I feel I'll wait until it gets clearer for me. Thank you beautiful souls! If you have the chance, visit the canary Islands, I specially like 'La palma', it's super raw and not very populated. Also the South of Gran canaria is sooo incredibly beautiful, with amazing dunes +beaches and mountains 😃👌. Loads of love from my heart to yours 🤗🧡🧡🧡

    I hope you guys found a home. There are lot of people buying out homes here in PR to turn them into B&Bs. The one with the most B&Bs is the governor’s brother. I believe he owns over 80 of them. It’s really sad. They should be fixing those homes to sell them to people that are from here that are looking for a home for their families. I was born here but was raised in the states. Mainly Massachusetts, NY and Florida. I decided to buy a home here in PR. I went about it the wrong way. I was looking online and came to the island to look at the homes. I fell in love with one house when I should have kept on looking. You guys are doing the right thing by hooking up with an agent. However, the agents here aren’t very motivated. You have to look online while you’re here and bug the agent to show you homes. They will want to sell you their listings and not other agents listings because they really don’t want to share the commissions. Anyway, like I said. I hope you guys found your dream home.

    If you don't mind me asking... what part of Puerto Rico did you end up buying in? I'm looking all over the internet and can't seem to find anything as beautiful as what I saw on your video. Also, you don't have to say specifically the amount, but what price range would I expect to pay for such a home? I have been looking in San Juan, Carolina, Fajardo and Ponce to no avail

    • @itsdreak
      @itsdreak  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would check that site that I recommended in the video it’s like Craigslist for PR houses and less people know about it - clasificadosonline, that is where we found our house. We moved to the Guaynabo area, there’s a lot more nature here but pretty close to San Juan. Price range is a lot less than a typical urban city, you’ll probably get double the space and rooms for something in a place like Seattle (where we moved from)

      Thank you ❤️ yes so initially we were working with First Bank which is a big bank in PR but with the bigger banks, although you will probably get a lower interest rate, it can take a lot longer. We actually ended up switching to a smaller mortgage company called FEMBI mortgage and were able to close about 2 months after vs. Working with the big bank and it took 3 months and we didn’t even close
