Meta does not have a similar product, the resolution of meta devices is 1/3rd.. you can barely get 1080p video resolution. The resolution is not high enough for monitor replacement.
@@Nobody-Nowhere: I agree that the quality of the Quest 3 display isn’t quite good enough for longer text editing sessions in virtual windows-it’s usable for relatively short editing sessions, but my eyes get tired after only about ten minutes of text editing since text is a little blurry and the white background behind the text is slightly dim, compared to my 16 inch M1 Macbook. But I find using the Quest 3 to watch medium-resolution videos like those on TH-cam, or to look at still photos is OK, but not near the resolution of the Vision Pro, from what I hear (I haven’t yet tried one). I’ve tried two software approaches for creating virtual windows, sent from my Macbook through my home’s wifi router-Immersed, and Virtual Desktop-and both are decent for what they do, as well as a direct HDMI wired connection between my Macbook Pro and my Quest 3, using a 4K HD capture “card” (really just an adapter that looks like a USB stick), and I think the resolution using Virtual Desktop might be just a tiny bit better than the wired connection.

Quest 3 supports both hand tracking and controllers, which makes it far more versatile for various uses (not just gaming) than Apple. On the other hand, Apple has purposely closed themselves away from 90% of gaming. I think Moohan/Google Android XR seems like a great middleground with the most potential. Hey if it works it works! I still have those Daydream views too, never use them though. Yes so much of these devices seems to be about the media consumption aspect. Thanks for watching!
In reality, consumers perceive the product as a failure due to its high price. However, if the product does not align with individual preferences, it may not be suitable for them. Apple has comprehensive plans for all its products, and it is possible that the product may not meet expectations. Nevertheless, it is unlikely to be a complete failure, as previous products like the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and AirPods have proven successful despite initial skepticism.
I think a huge differentiation between the Android XR platform and the Apple Vision Pro is going to be the XR version of Google Maps/Earth and more especially TH-cam. TH-cam support on the AVP is very limited….it only works through the browser and does not support the various 3D, VR and immersive videos that are on the platform, where with the glimpses of the TH-cam app I’ve seen on Android XR, it fully supports all of those formats, and there’s the potential of Google making deals with the various movie studios for them to makes their 3D movies available on the TH-cam app on Android XR. That and I’m sure standard 2D videos will have a much better viewing experience on Android XR then on the AVP. This could all change if Google finally releases an AVP TH-cam app.
The TH-cam app on Android XR was incredibly immersive, all of the UI elements were separated into their own zones that made perfect sense inside of the immersive presentation within the goggles. It was highly tailored and very effective.
@ that may be enough for me to buy an Android XR headset….that and the AI 3D support on Google Photos. I watch a lot of content on TH-cam and from trying out the AVP, the TH-cam experience is very poor on there. This is coming from someone who’s long been an iPhone guy but has always purposely uploaded my personal photos and videos to both iCloud and Google Photos.
You do know they are not VR devices they are all classed as XR Devices even the Quest any headset that allows you to do Mixed Reality AR and VR is a Xtended Reality headset the PSVR2 is a VR headset as it only does VR amd nothing else
That's a great point, thanks for pointing that out. I'm so used to calling these kinds of headsets VR, but it really is XR at this point. Thanks for commenting and watching!

Yeah you bet. Now keep in mind, I had time with the Moohan about 1.5 weeks prior to the Apple Vision Pro. Trying to maintain my "memory" of the other experience by comparison was a bit tricky. Well, I live in Europe (AI restrictions in place), my mother tongue is not English... in addition to this, Samsung/Google product still not fully defined in terms of tech features, games, programs and of course... fully reviewed performance. My guess, it will take some time to be available, tested and with a reasonable price... also feel a little bit heavy (or not big different in that area with Meta quest, apple vision pro)... so in my opinion in a couple of years I guess Meta and others can also have better visors, let us see then the difference and the real practical use of this... no mention the possibility of someone coming up with some magic in the haptic field that really, in my view, would be a game changer.
I’m not saying you are biased but it’s interesting that you barely cover anything apple and like comments that say that the Vision Pro is a complete fail when it’s not. It definitely has its flaws but Apple thinks the long term and I don’t think anyone understands that in this comment section…While I do not intend to imply bias, it is intriguing that you primarily focus on negative aspects of Apple products, particularly the Vision Pro. While it is true that the Vision Pro has its shortcomings, Apple’s long-term vision is often misunderstood in this discussion.
Um... Are you talking to me or commenters? Cause I feel like I shared a ton of really positive-leaning perspective on the AVP. I think my only hesitation is in the price really. Apple created a solid and impressively immersive headset and ecosystem. I just couldn't afford $3500 to invest my time into it on a deeper level.
Which device, the Moohan? I mean, Google invited me to the campus to demo it, but didn't let me shoot any footage. You can watch my video covering that trip here: th-cam.com/video/pLGauiTDPXY/w-d-xo.html
Not a fan of the way Google wants to track everything you do with the device which plays into their business model of selling (or selling access to) your data. I prefer privacy.
The company that track everything is Apple, they want you to buy all the product from them, they are the least privacy company in the world, don't be fooled by their false claims.🙂
Well, Google may be compelled to change that behavior in the coming months and years through the many anti-competitive charges it faces in the courts. Personally, I just want the choice.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Siri now powered buy OpenAI? If that's the case then it looks like both headset units are have are AI powered. The main thing that you forgot to mention is that Apple is no longer manufacturing is there a VR headsets.
That's true, as of recently. I think the key difference though is that ChatGPT with Siri is purely voice query based. Whereas Gemini is truly multimodal. Big difference from a user standpoint. I'd make the bet that Apple gets multimodality onboard within a year or two tops.

I totally agree re Haptics. I feel like that is a largely untapped direction for XR headsets. Or maybe even Haptics in the battery pack.
The music is a bit loud and annoying, a lower audio setting would be more appropriate
Cool I'll keep that in mind, thanks for watching!
Maybe if you had an Apple Watch they would have let you record the video in the store 😅
That's the secret, isn't it!
Perplexity What is Perplexity PRO: can be used in iPhone
Sure Perplexity can be used in an iPhone, browser or app. It's my service of choice. I love it.
when you cant even show a real image of the device, its a bit sus
@ Absolutely. I’ll probably get one (I’m an XR device hoarder) but will disable all the monitoring I can.
News flash.
99% of Zucks money came from selling your data.
@JasonHowell great point. I completely forgot about that.
Another win for Android against apple
Time will tell, but I think Samsung has a good thing going here.
People think that the Vision Pro isn’t successful when this is just Apple’s starting point for their vision of this technology. Most consumers automatically hate on the Vision Pro because it’s expensive. If you think it’s too expensive then it’s probably not the product for you. Contrary to popular belief, the Vision Pro serves as Apple’s initial iteration of its vision for this technology. Consequently, it is unsurprising that many consumers harbor negative sentiments towards the device due to its high price point. However, it is important to note that the Vision Pro may not be the most suitable product for individuals who prioritize cost-effectiveness.
Perfect thank you
Thank you for being here!!
Too many unnecessary information
Thanks for watching! I'd love your constructive feedback. Are you talking about the driving portion? Or the actual comparison data?
Apple / meta 🎉. Google 🤮
😢
@ I would’ve preferred Microsoft, but Microsoft gave up on VR and AR. And to an extent windows operating system as a whole when Windows phone died 😭
Gemini is a woke fire dumpster. What a bummer. It’s a real shame.
What does that even mean
@ it means that it gives false information about history when you look stuff up. Same garbage they did when X was twitter. It’s honestly a shame what tech has been turned into. I miss just regular tech that’s awesome that doesn’t include their crazy crap biases.
🔥🔥🎉 I love these vlog style and also kudos for giving the time jump for those who want to jump ahead
