Jim has nothing but great things to say about Shelton, and that is because Shelton had respect for the sport, plus he has your three I, Kurt intensity, integrity and intelligence. And for Jim that is a big thing is you treat wrestling with respect, that you have intensity, integrity and intelligence,

Because to hate on any wrestling legend for no good reason is disrespectful to wrestling. I have always said Shelton had the most athletic spot in wrestling I ever seen! When he ran up that ladder that was amazing my jaw dropped! That took crazy ability and coordination and balance! I couldn’t do it with someone holding it and he did it just flipping in the wind!
Love and respect to Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin and Mr Cornette from Belize 🇧🇿 May god bless Thank you for making my childhood spectacular and memorable
Jim Cornette spent five minutes raving about Shelton. Cornette may have been the only that believed in Shelton as much as he did. Had Cornette still been in "the office" with Vince, Shelton would've had way more championship runs.
What "kids"? The IWC? People in their thirties and forties and above? Kids today mostly don't care about wrestling. The age of the average wrestling fan in the US is in the "currently-decomposing to fully-fossilised" range.
Cornette has always been nice because Shelton has always been a hard worker who does his best and is teachable. And that's really all Cornette is looking for.
It's shitty that Shelton never got to have a run with the WWE championship, even if it was a short run he should've had that title at least once but he still got himself over without it
Corny has never hidden his admiration for Shelton Benjamin. The fact that Corny brought in Bobby Eaton to teach SB the Alabama Jam, might be one of the biggest shows of respect Corny can give someone.
Knowing what I do now about wrestling: Stone Cold saying that he hated delivering the stunner because of having to land on his ass, I can't imagine the brass of someone saying "I'm gonna land on my ass, but from the top rope!" Corny always praises Benjamin as probably the best pure talent that came out of OVW. Didn't become the biggest star, but better athlete than anyone who came through. And you can tell that's true
It seriously is a crime that Shelton Benjamin was never WWE Champion during his 1st run there. He was super agile in the ring. Once that bell rang, he could wrestle anybody in that roster & still put on a great match.
TNA im thinking would be the perfect place for Shelton, him and Ziggler already have a story of not reaching their full potential and can lead to both of them in a feud for the TNA gold to prove it.
Anyone who listens to Corny knows he's a softy who only rages at the folks in wrestling who don't respect wrestling, which makes him no different than anyone else who loves what they do or did, except that he's a linguistic genius with a temper.
I'd love to spend an afternoon talkin to Jim Cornette cause he is just such a fountain of wrestling knowledge and probably has some good stories about wrestlers from the past
I watch/listen to a few people regularly. Cornette and Last are probably 50%, I was out of wrestling for years (since Benoit incident, I completely tuned out), and I began listening to these guys a few years back and got me back into the swing. Busted Open is probably about 20% 83 Weeks (Bischoff and Conrad) about 10% Maven about 5% - Although, I watch every video, he just has lower content output because he's more of a TH-camr than a podcaster. And 10-15% for shows like What Culture, the occasional Vince Russo clip, and stuff. Always open to new content, though. But anyway, the point is Cornette's show is always full of energy and anger, and I find that entertaining. Even when Cornette is happy he seems to be angry.
Cornette is one of the best Pro Wrestling minds of all time. In a new day and age where the product really doesn’t excite me anymore, Cornette is still very entertaining to listen to.
I feel like WWE fumbled the ball with so many amazing wrestlers, if I had to make a mount rushmore of the greatest wrestlers WWE failed to utilize properly I'd say Mr Kennedy, Dolph Ziggler, Malakai Black, and obviously Shelton Benjamin. But unfortunately Vince McMahon was never capable of creating more then a few stars at a time. I think Triple H is doing a lot better and WWE is building up dozens of stars right now. It's been a long long time since I enjoyed wrestling this much.

Sucks that Shelton didn't learn how to be a politician, because he wouldn't learn it from Corny, and that's the main reason why his career is "underrated" when it should've been multiple-time world champion with a couple of Wrestlemania main events. Shame.
