Honestly tho I really wish you could go underwater in botw 2 It could make exploration even cooler, exploring sunken ruins and fighting underwater enemies and stuff. It would be awesome
And the Zora armor would increase underwater speed and attacks. There'd be an air meter without it and you can find sunken treasures and whatnot. That, and some cave systems, and we got a whole new aspect of Hyrule to explore!
Hey, good video, but I just need to precise two things you said There's actually multiples others methods to activate the glitch, and one can be pretty useful : with the menu overloading, by stacking a lot of stal weapons, you'll have the glitch done without water And if you do it with water, the best weapon is the savage lynel sword : it requires ~150, and for others weapons it's between 170 and 200. Also, if you throw a boomerang in "local water", wich is water in which your camera goes in (shrines, divine beast, zora's domain,...), you'll activate boomerang curse, a lighter version of hinox curse (which works also on wii U )

Maybe it’s me, but I got the glitch to work, no damage, sink to the bottom of the fountain, but when I leave the area, it reverts back to normal. I actually wanted to use the going underwater glitch to explore Lake Hylia or any underwater locations to see if devs made any secret references.
I came back after 1 year cause this is the first time I try it and I'm glad I successfully performed it :) And I noticed that it doesn't only affect Link, in case there are fish in the body of water you are doing it, it also affects them, they drop to the bottom and start choking like they are out of the water
Yeah you can get it to work in the Calamity fight using water in the castle nearby, but in addition to there not being any water in the Dark Beast area, I think entering the fight reloads the world into a special state where certain things don't load or spawn at all, so it would probably remove the overload even if the water were close enough Edit: I forgot about the Stal arm method I saw in a comment above this one, maybe that could work

@@rghennig1 it also shows how much you can do in the game. The difference between BOTW and something like Skyrim is the gameplay is glitch-free. So if you're trying to enjoy a casual playthrough you're unlikely to find any game breaking glitches. But if you're into complicated exploits like this, there are countless glitches that you would never find in a casual playthrough.
technically someone could do this with a skew corresponding to one of the "edge of the world" barriers and try to shield clip out of the game's bounds.
Yeah I heard Nintendo intentionally left in some glitches because they make the game more fun. Lucky for us there's a lot more than "some" glitches now
And also, you can’t climb up or down when you setup the glitch you jump up it instead, because sometimes when you have the glitch, you dive when you jump. I am not kidding it’s true btw.
Would this help with the Middle and Final Trials? The Beginning Trials were bad enough, but the first two rooms of the Middle Trial aren't good for my mental health. Stasis Clipping looks impossible and I still want to see the different rooms, but they're just too fucking stressful and I take too much damage. And this is Standard Mode! I wouldn't touch the Master Mode with a million yard pole.
Is it possible to get that chest deep underwater near the fish town in the SE, near where you need the pieces of the monolith for the squating shrine. ACH! I don't remember the real names. You can use stasis and magnesis to get it for an opal or if you are underwater maybe it is easier. Is there a way without doing the throw 100 things to do it? It's funny, there are still more glitches - that could be useful - to find.
You actually cant open chests with this glitch active for some strange reason. But if you're committed, you can probably move the chest away from the area to disable Collision Overload, and then you can enjoy the reward inside.
Do you think it's because they count as individual "events", like the entering the shrine cutscenes and talking to the great fairies? Because you can't get hurt whilst entering a shrine/talking to fairies/sitting at a fire, so maybe during "events" you have invincibility and having that many stacked causes an overflow in an integer somewhere so the invincibility is always in the on state.
Going too far away is most definitely because the campfires and great fairy pond unloaded so that's not a mystery xD I just like to hypothesize about the coding aspect and what could cause the glitch in the first place.
But the invincibility with those things comes from there being nothing able to hurt you, as time is frozen, so there would be no reason to hardcode invincibility

Since the area of the glitch is limited, it probably isn't worth doing lots of times for a memory storage run. Doing it at Hyrule castle might be a good idea though because it should be enough to stop all the guardians
The fairy fountain one is literally as easy as the video shows. I paused immediately after he jumped into the fountain and tried it myself. Exact same result.
It’s not working and I’m sure I’m doing exactly what’s shown in the video. I activate magnesis, pause and take out the wood, drop the wood, then light it with a fire arrow. The wood doesn’t turn into a campfire however. What am I doing incorrectly? Is it the timing? Can someone let me know? Thanks. Edit: and the second method isn’t working either. I’m dropping the Lynel bows but Link is still fully loaded.
Try lighting the wood and then dropping the rest of them. If you try to pile all of them up at the same time then they'll start to de-spawn. As for the dropping of the bows, make sure you equip lightening arrows and press ZR to make link hold the bow before you go into the menu to drop it.

Where is the clostest and best place for the ganon fight without multishot bows? I saw you weren't doing any damage to him, is that a side effect
Yeah sadly you can't hurt him, but if you have Urbosa's Fury you can electrocuted him and wait for it to recharge. I used a body of water very close to the sanctum to become invincible during the fight
A few attacks like Urbosa's Fury (which i used) still damage enemies, so if you had the patience to let it recharge 20 times, you could technically beat any boss

If you didn't use a lot of campfires or weapon duplication or anything, it may have been both, like an emulator bug triggered the collision to overload or something

You can get a lot of duplex bows (which also work) from the Yiga clan hideout and from any yigas who attack you in random places. This should be easier than fighting lynels
Tried it, didn’t work for me using the fairy location in Kakariko Village. EDIT: Never mind tried it again and it worked but like you show a very limited distance from the fountain.
When you use magnesis, it shoots a magnetic orb out of the shiekah slate. You want to pause the game while that orb is still shooting. Hold an item and unpause, and the item will drop to Link's feet right away

That's a good question. As far as I know, collision overload only lets you go through water and lava, but I'd have to test that

Hey, I found another thing about the glitch, when you do the glitch you won’t take damage to bombs, well at least remote bombs.

When combining this with the infinite jumping glitch, Link basically becomes a god. I wonder if there’s an infinite stamina glitch 😮
From my own experience, it seems to be more consistent when you use the Royal Guard’s Spear for weapon duping.
I also heard that savage lynel swords work well. Interesting how certain weapons affect the glitch

The glitch does not persist through fast travel
Also, you can dive into the ground, like in Mario oddysey
And it doesn't persist through different saves

What would happen if you use this with Trail if the Sword? Would you be able to skip every room easily or would you be softlocked?
If you can find creative ways to damage enemies, it might be possible. You'd just need to overload the menu before entering the trials

Warping far away, entering a shrine, or closing and reopening the game should do the trick

I think the collision randomly came back every few seconds, but thankfully it's only like that in lava

Thankfully it does reset no matter which method you try, so you won't have to worry about getting stuck in this state

Don't worry it's completely safe and easy to fix when you're done: Just teleport away, load a save, or close the game to disable the glitch

You can travel a decent amount of distance before it unloads, but I think it stays through cutscenes which is why it even let me go to Calamity Ganon

This bug happened to me while ago, i thought it was an emulador bug D: i was wslking underwater.
If you didn't use a lot of campfires or weapon duplication or anything, it may have been both, like an emulator bug triggered the collision to overload or something

From what I tested you can still kill monsters by throwing rocks and using Urbosa's Fury

Good question. I guess you can use it to avoiding stronger monsters or hazards that would kill you. I mostly use it to explore underwater.

You can get a lot of duplex bows (which also work) from the Yiga clan hideout and from any yigas who attack you in random places. This should be easier than fighting lynels

Tried it, didn’t work for me using the fairy location in Kakariko Village. EDIT: Never mind tried it again and it worked but like you show a very limited distance from the fountain.
How do you drop things using magnesis?
When you use magnesis, it shoots a magnetic orb out of the shiekah slate. You want to pause the game while that orb is still shooting. Hold an item and unpause, and the item will drop to Link's feet right away
