    Thank you so much. I had an ileostomy in 2019, it was due to be reversed in early 2020 but Covid hit. My surgery is tomorrow thanks to a last minute cancellation. Loved watching your videos, it feels like having a natter with a friend over coffee!

    Have found your videos they are fabulous I ruptured my colon and had an ostomy for awhile. It was a very difficult adjustment to get used to, and no real guidance on what to do when things went wrong with it. Whit you telling your story I feel it will help others survive and gain insight on how to survive. May God bless you and your inspiration to others. Thank you for your videos

    Thank you so much, I am having my reversal in 4 weeks. Did you experience any accidents after the reversal? I heard someone saying she had to wear a nappy. I am so scared.....

      I hope everything goes well! I actually didn’t have any accidents. I even prepared for it by wearing Depends for a few days after my surgery just in case but it was very controlled. The only time I had a tiny accident was when I passed some gas and a very small wet spot came out with it. Now I pass gas only when I’m sitting on the toilet. I was surprised I didn’t have any accidents and no leaks either with my jpouch.

      I’m 2 weeks out and I occasionally have leaks, but I haven’t had a full accident since I was on heavy pain meds in the hospital. I’ve been wearing nappies at night just in case but haven’t needed it much, honestly you might just need to wear a longer menstrual pad.

    Hi
    I went through ileostomy reversal 10 days back. Since last 1 week I am passing loose stool and my rectum and surrounding area burns burns burns like hell each time I pass the loose stool. I was told to apply MEBO, EMLA and now EMOFLON, however nothing works and no one know what to be done. Is it my food (eggs, bread, white rice, banana, chicken) or my LAR anastomosis or irritated skin or all of the above. Don’t know what to do. Any help will be appreciated

      Maybe cause the poop is very acidic in the absence of colon. My son has ileostomy.

    do you have diarrhea after surgery? how can we stop the diarrhea because I am losing a lot of weight from diarrhea?

    • @lyndzerella
      @lyndzerella  ปีที่แล้ว

      Since my reversal surgery I haven’t had a lot of diarrhea. I’d consult with your doctor if you’re losing weight due to diarrhea. It’s always good to make your medical team aware of what is going on so they can help treat it.

      It’s gotten much better! I have no issues during the day with holding it when I get the feeling of needing to use the restroom.

    Have you faced any inside burning issue after reversal?

    • @lyndzerella
      @lyndzerella  ปีที่แล้ว

      I get butt burn occasionally. After the dilation procedure I had I had burning inside for about a week which was just due to the scar tissue I had and then the output being acidic.

      @@lyndzerella any medication taken for this? Or any cream?

    • @lyndzerella
      @lyndzerella  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use calmoseptine ointment for the butt burn and it helps heal the area that is irritated. My surgeon also has prescribed me a medication called lomotil which helps slow down output when it’s really liquidy.
