that particular VP is one with an alloy nib unit. It is not the typical ones with the gold nib units. It is about 60-70 dollars vs a gold nib one that is around 125 give or take .
@@MarcoRuschkowski - I personally bought the pen a few years ago because I wanted the mustard yellow color pen. I always just replace the nib unit inside with the size I want. ( always the 1.0 nib size). I have only ever seen the "special alloy " versions, on Amazon, and a few online retailers
Omg...u hit jackpot!🎉 See...this is because u gave that lady the $100 tip. The universe us rewarding u.😊 Welcome to the Pilot rabbithole! Now u will need to acquire an E95s. It's life changing.🥰 congratulations on ur lucky mistake!
Thank you for sharing! Karma is wonderful! You put such positive energy into the universe, and the universe will smile at you. I have the Pilot Capless in Yellow, and it is such a pleasant everyday fountain pen. You will get lots of compliments when you use it. Since you love brown inks (I do, too!), my current favorite is the Monteverde Brown Sugar. Wishing you and your family a lovely, healthy, safe, and prosperous new year!!!
You are so lucky! I just got my first vanishing point on Christmas after having it on my wishlist for years lol. Enjoy your new pilot pen and happy new year!
Yes, It's a Vanishing point, in the rest of the world it's called Capless. I have it, and this one has an alloy nib unit, but it writes beautifully. Congrats on your surprise. ❤😄
So fast and fun! When you said you ordered a Prera I was excited, but wow-- Capless!! I wanted to suggest medium nib only because my last Prera says M but is thinner and very fine. Both of mine are transparent so I just ordered a slate gray for under $20. I actually want another Prera, but won't complain if it's Capless, HA! Can't wait to see and hear what you and others receive this time, especially if you like the Prera. Keep us posted! (Oh and Preras post like a dream, too.) 😋
I love the Kakuno, I have 2 of them and looking to get the new madoromi color series. It's such a versatile and affordable pen and writes nicer than some of my more expensive pens.
You have the best luck on Amazon! LOL Enjoy! You should also try a Platinum Preppy. Ooh, and if you want to get fancy try a stub or italic nib (1.1 mm or greater), which makes your writing look like calligraphy without even having to learn it. Because the nib is squared, not rounded, it makes broad vertical strokes and thin horizontal strokes. I like to journal with mine - so pretty! Unfortunately, the TWSBI doesn't make a great nib for this, but there are plenty of others out there.
I ordered the capless intentionally. When I first looked it up it was around sixty dollars. When I went to order it, it was $80. So my husband gave it a try and got it for $71. You had a great left turn!
I actually bought this same Capless a few days ago, and I'm loving it. I paid 70 bucks for mine, and it is such a nice daily writer for me so far. I have it inked with Diamine Sepia at the moment, and its a pretty spot-on color match for the pen body
Hi Michelle, Hope the holidays are treating you and the Fam well. I do not currently have a pen on my wishlist but I love and enjoy everything you present so it gives me ideas ❤🖋📓🦋🌹
Hey! The capless is another name for the vanishing point, but there are steel nibed and gold nibed ones. That one is a steel nib and a lower price point than the 18K gold ones. I have collected a few of the gold nib VPs and they are amazing everyday pens! Enjoy this happy accident LOL!
Wow, what a lucky mistake! I bought 2 Kakunos after your last video - I love them both! I bought a fine nib & a medium nib & weirdly I'd say the fine nib is smoothest. Inked them with Writer's Blood & Sepia both from diamine & am really enjoying them. Thanks for the inspiration x
Well, I think I'll try the much cheaper Majohn A1 first to see if I like writing with a pen like this. There are also A1 versions without the clip now. Oh, there are new colours of Kaküno out now. They are more hazy or dusty in their colours. They look interesting. I might try the Kaküno eventually since i love my cute little Preras. The soft click when closing the cap is amazing. 😁 Your new Capless costs 129€ at my favourite online pen shop in Europe. The gold nibs are 210€ and up. 🎄🎁
I got the A1 specifically because I wanted the clipless body and immediately swapped in a gold VP nib in broad because the A1 only comes in EF (or at least that's all I could find).
Kakuno was my first fountain pen, I made a video recently saying the same thing and recommending it to begginers, its to this day one of my favorites to this day. Many of my friends decided to try kakuno as their first fountain pen, I bet Im getting them to enjoy fountain pens with me in the near future hahaha
lol! i saw the capless/vanishing point in the thumbnail and got confused when you said you bought a prera! from another pilot fangirl, the capless is by far my favorite fountain pen from them!
What luck!!! That's such a fortunate mishap~ Anyway, I'm a super noob too (~1 year) and I syringe fill all my pens! I think it's so much easier than trying to vacuum up the ink? But maybe I'm just not good at it yet 😅
Yeah, as you now know, you SCORED! You should still try to get ahold of a Prera, though. One of my favorite models from Pilot. In the United States, the Capless is the steel alloy nib version of the Vanishing Point, which has a gold nib. I love CVS Caliber paper, but the good stuff is in the notebooks which say they are made in Vietnam. The scratch pad is made in the USA, so it doesn’t perform as well.
Kaweco pens are nice. They write well. The body size is just a tad bit too small for my preference as a long-form writing tool. But for on the go or travels, it's perfect! Can't go wrong
I was wondering how you got the Capless in the thumbnail when you said you got it for under $30. 😂 BTW, that looks like a CON-70 converter. It will fit the Kakuno, but not the Capless or Prera. You will need the CON-40 for those pens. Oh, and if you are using a converter in the Capless, you don't need the cartridge cover. But I tend to just use refilled cartridges, so I don't have to keep up with that cover. Heh. - When you fill from a cartridge, there is no ink in the feed at first. You have to wait a bit for the ink to flow through the feed to the nib. When you fill pens by dipping the nib directly in the ink, the feed and nib already have ink and it is ready to write immediately.
You don't have to activate ink, it just needs time to get through the feed because you filled it with cartrige. Normal thing. Congrats. Capless is my dream.😊
I have a pilot prera. I like it but it is a small pen. I prefer a larger size. It writes well so not a bad low budget fountain pen. I’m not a fan of the cap less.
They said the nibs of Kakuno/Prera/Metropolitan are the same, so maybe it's good to have a Capless😅And I also got my clear Kakuno few days ago, too, I really enjoy it.
For me it was the opposite everyone loves the Twsbi and I just refused to buy one, I went Kaweco first then Lamy, then Sailor, then Radius, and hating the Sailor feedback o decided to that Pilot would be perfect for me because people say is so smooth, bought a pilot lightive as a pre capless test… and thought it was TOO smooth 😅. Ended up surrendering to Twsbi and is JUST RIGHT I don’t even want to write with anything that is not Twsbi anymore 😭
@ my preference is definitely Fine, but I have a cream/rose gold Twsbi Eco in Extra Fine and a Blue/Bronze in Fine. Weirdly the Extra Fine writes thicker lines than the Fine, but I think it could be the ink! I have Colorverse brunch date on the EF and Diamine Prussian blue on the F. Maybe the Colorverse ink is just too wet? I am very new to fountain pens I started last year so I am not sure
Pilot vanishing points fountain pens are not 60 or $70 they are more like 100 too $150. how in the world did the seller make that kind of mistake he just lost a lot of money. You gotta extremely expensive pen for cheap.I could never get that lucky.
It's not a gold nib, just a gold colored steel one. I checked my black colored, 18k gold VP nib and it has extra stamping between the pilot logo and the nib size. Still a lucky mistake for her though!
@thecattpark I have the black matte vanishing point that has actually 18k nib, and because they look the same but different colours I thought hers had the gold nib too
