- Driving in different streets, cities and days, in Metro Manila, Philippines. Quezon City, Mandaluyong City, San Juan City and Makati City, EDSA, Pinaglabanan street, N. Domingo street, P. Guevarra street and Aurora blvd. Music «As The Day Begins» by Healer. Sony Handycam DCR-SR100
My mum is Filipino, Philippines is the best spot have a holiday, I can get my dental work and beauty treatments cheaply. The SM Mall of Asia & SM Megamall is the best in Manila. Mum & I usually have our holiday in Mindanao where her sisters & nephews & nieces live. Manila is the main city where I enter/exit Philippines. I'm half Filipino.
Her son and daughter were already living in USA, so I think, it's the best for her. I drove her car only to the underground parking at the condo that you can see in one of my last upload "You're Still You - Josh Groban (playing in the car)". She always drove her car, a Nissan X-Trail, and she was a very good driver and I was free to take videos. Thanks for watching my videos.
i know many of these streets. Love Manila!
Seeing this make me miss my hometown sabah ..since i mix philipines (chinese +bisaya ) i love philipines so much even my face looks like pure pinoy ♥♥
Another great one from Andre !!..Hope you do one from Ermita/Malate.
this vid made me want to go back asap , u even drove past the motel i stay in when im there, in pasay, near moa, the people in phil have been very nice to me , had no troubles cept for 1 cab drvr , love it there :)
@atisone Thanks for the comments. I used a Sony Handycam DCR-SR100.
Not the theme song from unsolved mysteries.
As the Day Begins appears on the album Mashed Mellow Grooves Three: Ibiza (disc 2). Healer is known as Michael Andresen who is the man behind.
the stainless 'owner-type' jeep at 5:48 I have similar jeep assembled in they backyard. One can assemble his own vehicle after getting the needed parts and permits.
Hey Charles! Good to see you on TH-cam.. Hope all is going well..
this is the place where you meet one of the nicest people on the planet. its not the place its the people who makes this place warm, fun and friendly despite of its looks like chaotic to others.. visit the countryside and you will be back for sure.
I do the same when am there, I have others drive and I do the video taping. But I promise to myself that the next time am there, that I will just sit, watch, and enjoy the beatiful places where my driver be taking me... I really enjoy watching your video. I use the same brand, Sony, the video always come out crispy clear.
Bless this country.
Gr8 footage.i just got bak.stayed in pasay city near MOA.crazy city.poverty everywhere.traffic is nuts along edsa wen its busy.but would go bak again.no doubt.good food too
@mizzsixty9er It may be, but Manila has its own charm that no other place has. It's so colorful, warm and you can find traces of many different cultures.
that's exactly how long i've been away too. but was just there from june 10-20. i don't know if I can handle the driving. I can manage to get around either via taxi, jeepney, or the train, but driving NO. In spite of congestions, traffic, smog, and all, I am still in love with Pinas and would love to come back ASAP, and probably retire there...
@BoxxerRose --- I dont want to hurt your feelings here. I know all that. But when you take a plane outside The Philippines to go to The Philippines it's writen Manila on the tiket, like Montreal (YUL) to Toronto (YYZ), Toronto to Tokyo (NRT) and Tokyo to Manila (MNL).
Yes sure, LOL, but I dont think, my filipina girlfriend driving her car would appreciate it. You can watch this one that I kept the original sound "Driving on Shaw blvd & EDSA, Mandaluyong, Philippines". Thanks for watching and the comment. :))
You look happy. I Wish you the best in life. My lady friend (now 55 yo), was from San Juan City (Metro Manila) and got married to an American last year and now lives in USA (the american dream). Thanks for watching my videos.
Thank you for showing that. I felt like i was in Chicago sort of. It sounds so nice there but the places you took us were in the city, Know drinking Jose Cuarvo at the beach all that fantasy stuff. just reality. thanks!
Je suis allé à Manille en 1987 ,et j'y suis retourné en 2009 ça a été une belle émotion j'ai retrouvé pas mal d' endroits . les jeepneys sont toujours là . Super vidéo.
super pay
Nice video and music Andre. Thanks...
That's a very interesting video, especially with the EDSA segments. I enjoyed every minute of the ride through Metro Manila.
tnx for the upload. how many dys u`ve stayed there?
I stayed there 3 months. Thanks for watching.
@BoxxerRose --- Yes, it's in the description anyway, but I like short titles. Here in Montreal, it's an island with the City of Montreal and some other cities too, call Montreal Metropolitain, but it's still Montreal for the World.
Where are going to in The Philippines? Manila only or to some islands too (have to see Puerto Galera or Coron, El Nido, Puerto Princesa, in Palawan or Boracay. Money is Philippine Pesos (43 pesos for 1 US$). Food is good, mostly sea food like shrimps, eat local like in Jollibee (chicken), Shakey's (pizza & pasta), also Brothers Burgers or other filipino restaurants. Bring with you immodium just in case, so if you're sick, you wont search for medecine. Drink water in bottle, and local beer (1$).
That was fun to see again. I spent 2 months of 2005 in Las Pinas. It always amazed me that traffic moved as well as it did. The drivers live by the horn...LOL.
American dream? not necessarily to some unfortunate ones. I love your video. It's clear. Did you do the driving yourself?
No problem.
nice video..been to manila last 2016..its a great city...from malaysia.✌
I have yet to go to Manila
i went in all that places...amazing...my second country..i love it....
I live in Nueva Ecija and I usually ride jeepney to go to school. What I hate about some jeepney driver is that they drive carelessly. Some of them smokes even if there's a "No Smoking" sign inside the vehicle. And also here in my city, there's a lot of tricycles!
it's Incredible to see the similarities of Filipinos & Latinos. It's just like visiting a typical Latin American city!...
Thanks for posting! I too love the Philippines~! My Girl is near Cebu City in Lilona Cebu! I love it there~!
Philppines is incredible, not sure why anyone would want to stay in the US. Nice job on the vid btw
I miss this country. :(
Same
i was born in manila its a pretty cool place to live although parts of the places are polluted and dirty.theres alot of nices places as well.hope to go back again soon.im from california..
I got a friends in Philippines and they want me to go there;)
Do u got any advice for me? Money, food, and anything to get myself ready soon?
This is my Mom's birth place. Great video.
@deltanalliance Never mind found it in the description.
I find the prospect of driving in Manila really hectic and I blame it on poor road design. There needs to be more optimization for Jeepneys (i.e. consider they often stop suddenly to pick up/drop off passengers at non-designated stops) and more turn lanes.
the place where i grew up- sana makauwi uli. salamat maraming salamat
I also uploaded one, title: "[HD] Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan City, Philippines". Thanks for watching.
beautiful country and nice people
My second home, I miss it so much it almost hurts.
Good video. I did not drive when I was there. Learn how to drive in Canada and it sure scare the hell out me if I'm going home and drive there.
Thank you for the information. I looked at your website and also facebook, interesting. My lady friend (now 55 yo) got married to an American last year and now lives in USA (the american dream). I dont think I'll go back in The Philippines, so beautiful it is.
That's a rather epic ride around Metro Manila. I enjoyed it very much.
thanks. I used to take these routes.
i really miss back home so bad......
@mizzsixty9er --- Thanks for the comment, I agree.
Enjoyed the tour, thank you very much.
How do you left turn in the traffic light if its green ahead?
Wow, it's amazing! And those buses are unic!
:)
Merci.
when I was there I tried to use the "walk-overs" on the big streets. Usually they were urine smelling homeless people hang outs, actually scary.
@BoxxerRose --- The Manila Airport is in Pasay City, isn't it? Metro Manila is a Province in The Philippines, like Bulacan or Palawan. When you say Pasay or Paranaque, outside in the World, they dont know what it is except by filipinos only. I dont want to hurt your feelings.
@BoxxerRose
You're so technical. Manila boy ako at kapag sinabi mo ngayong MANILA, it refers to the entire METROMANILA. Actually, they're now calling it MEGAMANILA because they're now including some areas of LAGUNA, CAVITE, RIZAL and BULACAN as part of METRO MANILA.
Like in NEW YORK, when you say NEW YORK CITY or CITY, it refers to MANHATTAN, QUEENS, BRONX, BROKLYN and STATEN ISLAND.
@kyokushin723 - - - From Greenhills Shopping Center, about 1,5 km by Ortigas Ave
there are trash in the streets when garbage collectors do not collect them but generally if collected regularly the streets are clean. Makati and greenhills and the ortigas business area are clean so is Pasig and Mandaluyong. only the sidestreets of Manila are full or trash sometimes
hey nice vids, i remember this route leads to Greenhills shopping center quite famous for bargain hunters.
@seaymajor --- Thanks...Happy to have a fan. There's also Driving in Manila (2) in my Channel.
Hey nice video. If you don't mind, can use your footage for our short film? It's not really a big thing, its for our school project. This video is would be perfect for our film.
what year is this?? if this is 2011 this was 13 14 years ago
I saw many of those jeeps in The Philippines.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. I drive and cycle through these streets back in school and workforce. The video shows vehicle traffic in an 'organized chaos' through the use of 'common sense' on the part of the drivers. A system that probably would scare those who are used to driving only in countries like Canada or USA. As for the background music, maybe you can use a background like that song 'Manila .. manila, I kept coming back to manila'. That would fit this video.
Philippines is great. Canada
A lot of good looking people there! Better than the States!
Yes, you have my permission tu use this video for your class project. I appreciate your request. Have fun :)
Sir, do we have to pay parking fee if we park our car on the city street, is there any parking meter along the street. I,m going there with my fam on holiday thanks. Me from Jakarta
No parking fees along the streets, but a lot of places you cannot park along the streets. In most tourists places and the malls, there's parking fees but sheap.
They're mostly short though.. And i think you have a different view of "Good Looking".
Nice vid, sound and editing : )
I love the Philippines, I want to one day move there.
5:44 👏👏👏👏
Very informative and entertaining street scenes of Manila --- Thank you very much ... --- Uplifts my memory from 2009 when I was there ... Best wishes "KarlMaTo" Stockholm Sweden
I am a Pilipino and grew up there for 20 years then moved to Canada and people see this video how dirty and stink my home country and their right, But what they don't know is how warm and caring Filipinos are.
can you make a vid about walking around a palengki? i miss those too
you are right man!!!
search youtube for a video on driving in an indian or pakistani city, and you'll see there's very little comparison in the way they look. manila looks very similar to ho chi minh city (minus all the bikes) or jakarta.
gawa ka pa ng video hanggat maari buong metro manila kc gusto ko ang video mo

Hi. Can we use this video clip in our music video about the environment in the philippines for our class project? we will cite the source. thank you. :)
kailan kaya mahahanapan nila ng magandang solusyon ang mga kuryenteng ito...
Thanks for the ride. This just reminds me not to stay in Manila. I would rather live in my town in the mountains of Panay. No traffic, no pollution, no slums.
very nice thank you..
Je vous remercie pour ce clip. en tant que philippin au canada, je me demande des fois si j'ai fais la bonne décision chaque fois je vois les rues sur laquelle j'avais grandi.
nice music, can i know the title and composer?
Awesome! Thanks :)
i remember many of those places, stayed many times in wack wack towers in mandaluyong, love the street foods, jolliebee, and most of the people(there are assholes everywhere) anyway my filipina wife showed me many things there, ready to go back thanks for posting video i should try to post a few
Thank you for watching.
I enjoyed this video. Manila seems like an unattractive city but very facinating. I've never been there.
amazing
Hey it looks a lot like my country ,India. I like Philippines. :)
Great Vid! Does youtube pay u for your videos?
No, not on this Channel, but on my other one "miram3D" my 3D Channel.
The Pedestrians don't care if they will be hit. They don't look. The Philippines needs more road markings because unwanted vehicles enter without looking. I'm going back next christmas to get a one month's permit and some lessons of how to drive in the Philippines. I do know that most of the cars are with standard transmission but i have looked that there are some with an automatic transmission. I'm way familiar with automatic, Standard......No because i'm scared of stalling.
thanks,it was nice video...:)
was there about that time, stayed in wack wack towers, ready to go back dec 2013, remember many of the streets you driving on, love it there
