Thank you sweetie x Journals and books have been popular for many a year! (centuries even) I think more people just have the confidence to film and to sell them now. No 2 hand made journals are ever the same so they are always unique, as is a loaf of sliced bread :-D xx

That came out so lovely!! Thanks for sharing! I also never considered poking the holes from the outside for a neater finish- just one of those things as I learned to do it one way and kept doing it that way. I wondered what it was that makes the signature string go crooked so often and didn't realize it was how the jokes are pierced. I will do it your way next time.

Hi Tracy; happy you are back! Happy New Year! The camera worked well! Loved this video; it was extremely helpful!! Basic is good! Simple can be beautiful. You sewed this spine so simply! I will absolutely incorporate these techniques. For a dear friend, I made her a Christmas journal out of the smaller vintage book, "Christmas is a Time for Giving" by Joan Walsh Angland. I made a 2 inch hidden spine with 3 signatures. It was chunky! And my 1st journal! The story is precious! I left it intact in the center signature. I was afraid to sew through the spine.😳 These simpler techniques would allow one to keep a smaller book's spine intact and embellish in simpler fashion! Love it! Going to make a journal with her book on Love for Valentines! Who says a journal has to have a 2-3 inch spine? Sometimes, less is more! TFS!
