    My Go to recipe! Love this. Made it more than a handful of times. I coat my pan in cinnamon and sugar. Then sprinkle it on top. My co-workers request this often. Easy and always so moist and delicious. Blueberry, peach 🍑 just so yummy!

    Exact recipe for self rising flour. 1 cup all purpose flour, 1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder, 1/4 tsp salt. Mix well or sift together. Works great!

    this is how my mom always made cobblers, as I do now..my mommy called it poor man's cobbler, you can use any fruit & it is so good...with apples & peaches I use a mix of brown & white sugar 1/2c of each..very tasty😀 & use real butter no margarine!! only difference is we melt a stick of butter in the pan then add berries & pour batter over berries...so good our favorite is blackberry but any fruit or berry is yummy!!

    Love your video , will bake, viewing here from Ireland I too use kerrygold ... avonmore is also delicious and a natural product, I use raw cane sugar when making muffins or cobbler as this is makes more of a golden top cane sugar is also natural product, I soak all fruit and veg in a small amount of sea salt from Achill Island which gets rid of any nasties. Ty for your demo

    Great home recipie, I used my standard pancake batter with 2x the type of flour (bisquick if you must) and substituted half the sugar for brown sugar and it worked great . 2 tablespoons of tapioca thickens everything right up.

    Don’t forget to put the pure vanilla extract in the blueberries with a little bit of nutmeg and cinnamon. It gives a good flavor and put some vanilla extract in the batter mix I promise you you’ll love it it gives it a nice flavor like a vanilla cookie flavor crust.

    I tried it.seriously the best cobbler that i ever tasted.i almost gave up on cobbler because i didnt like cakey cobbler.tgis one has a crispness n a chewiness to it that is perfect.n the blueberries got thick n were delicious with the blueberry taste shining through.your exclusion of cotnstarch is a good idea as it subtracts from the taste of the blueberries,but i did add 2tbs of sugar to help thicken up the juices but i will folow your recipe completely next time n leave out the 2tbs of sugar because it made it too sweet.

  • @patsycav
    @patsycav 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I never use anything that's lowfat or nonfat. Fat is good for your brain. It prevents brain damage if you have a stroke. You need fat in your body, and lowfat products always have added sugar, to make it more appealing to the taste buds. Sugar is the culprit. I use coconut palm sugar and also date sugar, which has oat flour added for some reason. You can't win 'em all. Oat flour won't hurt you...it's probably to keep the date sugar from sticking together, as dates are naturally sticky, due to their sugar content, which is natural, not processed sugar, so it's okay to eat dates in place of candy or cake, if you crave something sweet.

    • @amytolbert3435
      @amytolbert3435  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there Manuel! To answer your question, the fruit is naturally sweet, but the cobbler crust with a cup a sugar bakes around the fruit. It’s the perfect amount of sweetness, add ice cream and you’re welcome! Enjoy!🫐😲

    • @manuelalmendarez2232

      And great advice about draining frozen blueberries.i did a blueberry cake last week n in my haste,i didmt discard the juice n my cake turned purple,which took away the beuaty of the cake and which afected the overall taste.blueberry is probably my favorite fruit probably the greatest .i tried a blueberry pie when i was younger and have since been hooked on blueberries.i used to get trader joes blueberries and make jams and you name it out of blue berries and while i love other fruits more in certain things,i love blueberrie s most in these type of pastries

    I hate when a person says this is the recipe when it is not. No mention of the baking powder that is in the flour or must be added if you don't have self-rising. No mention of the butter or vanilla. I added an egg, too, as I didn't want to ruin the taste without it.

    • @amytolbert3435
      @amytolbert3435  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Joyce T I think the one thing I’ve always liked and the 3 generations that have made it before me, is that the recipe is forgiving. Use varieties of fruit, fraction the butter if you want. But one thing that’s a must is self rising flour or make your own with baking soda and powder. Hope yours turns out as good as mine does.🤩

    I've now tried this recipe twice, once with blueberries, once with blackberries. Followed the instructions to a tee. It basically ended up being like a big blueberry muffin: very cakey with the batter/cake ratio a little too much for my liking. Kudos for making a simple recipe and it tasted good but not a true 'cobbler' in any sense.
