Had exactly same model and colour as yours back in the day ,did ramp jumps on it ,in fact lined up kids so I could jump over them .one of those kids ended up my wife of over 30 years ...love the old MK1 chopper ..

It's often said, and I'm pretty sure that it's true that the 70's was the best time to grow up (....ok, I happened to be there!), but it is actually a fact......, and having a Raliegh Chopper was the best bike or anything else you could actually possess (....ok, I happened to have one, and it was a Mark 1!). It's a real treat to see one of these again, loved, and filmed in wonderful close up detail! It must be a thrill to experience actually riding one again.....though as a 61 year old I'm sure I'd look more than a little silly giving it a go!

Hope I didn’t look too silly at 63 y.o. Always liked the look of the bike although never had one. I took the bike to where I grew up as a kid for the video. Never going to relive this stuff unless you actually do it

Nice bike, looking at the frame design (later non upturned cleet) later handle grips etc , this is probably a 1971 model...the rear wheel may be from an earlier bike?

Everything on this bike looked original. I bought it from where it was in storage for decades ( barn loft) I believe the reason it was a survivor was the fact the crank arm was bent and it through the pedal balance off to the point where you wouldn’t want to ride it. I’ll have to look into the frame although the wheels, hub, shifter etc all had the same patina. The red line tires both have the same amount of wear.
