What is your favorite headphone monitoring plugin?
Realphones can work as standalone. A very important feature for me.

For my workflow, the plugin version is most practical , and I can see where people want to use it standalone.
Yes standalone, so you can also compare your Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music to your mixes and get used to the plugin sound

I could get realphones almost to sound like my speakers in my room.

Hey! I do see the added value of plugins like these. Nothing beats a proper listening environment and ditto speakers, but tools like these can work really well as secondary mix check or when you always need to use headphones.

It's been out for a long time. Absolute must have for pro mixing.
This review was on version 1.7 already. Need to compare all those headphone mixing plugins maybe in 1 video.
I've been eyeing this for a while, but not entirely sure how to apply it. It applies to main/master and then I enable it to hear a corrective headphone response? I guess it needs to be disabled once exporting tracks?
You use it as very last plugin on you masterbus, so even after a limiter. disable during export.

Yeah, because the headphone companies are totally horrible at making headphones, thus must be corrected. Palm in face.
There's a difference between having headphones to enjoy music on and using heading headphones to make sure your mixes translate to other systems.
Headphones, by default, are far from linear and lack the very crucial components of crossbleed and influence of room acoustics on you mix decisions.
That why often mixes done on headphones without any correction model usually have a wrong level balance in drums and weird frequeny balance, ditto for the use of reverb.
