And Khayon is a big player Chaos Sorcerer and the Grey Knights underestimated him, the outcome had nothing to do with plot armor.

And how did that battle go? 20 thousand dead or wounded space wolfs, around the same number of solar auxilia and few dozen custodes/sisters of silence. Compared to 80 thousand dead thousand sons, the elimination of prosperos guard regiments, 30 million dead and a crippled primarch. Truly a great victory for the thousand sons, especially considering they had to run into the warp with the assistence of tzeentch with only 1200 survivors (with a further 3 thousand that werent on prospero at the time)
Well grey knights are an anti-daemon force, not an anti-psycher and the thousand sons sorcerers are supposed to be very strong especially the magistrate templi, which is more or less what Keyon seems to be at the level of.
Why is it always that a group like the Grey Knights are one of the most elite psyker space marines, training for years, their armor adorned and blessed with faith and protection, yet they die. Like its almost as though the Archenemy, Orkz, Tyranids, and Daemons are just so stupidly over powered and yet Space Marines generally die so easy.
I mean, Loyalist marines have many more cases of bs plot armor and ridiculous victories, and that was 5 greyknights recklessly fighting one of the strongest space marine psykers in the setting.

They may be powerful, but it's more just a power boost than genuine psychic strength. Grey Knights are still Space Marines. And only by the skin of his plot armor was Khayon able to survive. For a long time I only knew Khayon from the Black Legion books, but when i figured out he managed to bring magnus to his knees (its less ambiguous how, but theres like two ways, either knowing magnus' demon name or hes very persuasive which he isnt) i knew he was a mary sue
There’s literally no other evidence for that except Khayon telling the inquisitors that.
He’s an unreliable narrator, idk why everyone takes what every character says as an absolute truth in 40k.

Personally, I think the 40k community needs more shorts and videos about the Grey Knights getting humbled. I’ve seen fans say that Grey Knights are Custodes-tier.
Exactly. There seems to be that sentiment going around. They’re just highly specialized, highly psychic marines. They’re what the Thousand Sons were meant to be, minus the daemon hunting part. It makes perfect sense an OG, highly experienced Thousand Son could take them out. They’re on the same level, Khayon just has more at his disposal.

@@adrienwatson2179 To be fair, I don’t think he ever beat any Primarchs. I think the “brought Magnus to his knees” thing people love to quote was a bit exaggerated. Remember, Khayon narrates his own books. This isn’t an objective fact. What likely happened was he used some combination of trickery, persuasion, coercion, and force to turn Magnus to support the Black Legion. I think “to his knees” means more metaphorically that he “bent the knee” to support the Black Legion.

I get it Khayon is strong af but I really hate the discrepancy in GK power. Drago is a living god, and GK’s are stupid strong but then they just randomly die to black legionnaires. Then can solo a greater bloodthirster unaugmented to buy time then legit solo it with a dreadknight, then die en masse to trash mobs.
I get it they can’t all be unstoppable super beings but they do have geneseed from Anathema, the emperor. Surely they shouldn’t just drop dead to trash mobs and especially not lesser daemons or unnamed chaos space marines.

Black legion/chaos marines always seem so OP... it seems like they win every battle I read. I'm new to 40k so I might be wrong. You would think that grey knights first interaction with black legion they would go crazy with revenge based off what happened with the Heresy and the emperor. It always seems like the imperium gets its ass kicked 100 times but then wins 1 important battle and just repeats

He enslaves deamons and teases them, ine of his enslaved Daemon alone ince butchered 3 squads of Astartes.
Hes fought and beaten 2 Primarchs
Was a legendary assasin and killed dozens of Chaos Lords himself.
And is Abbadons #2 and helped form the black Legion and actually broke thr Emperors Children Legion inside the Eye of Terror.
Hes also on par with Ahriman in terms of sorcery and one of thr original Rubric lorss and almost stopped Ahriman and thr council.
The Grey Knights are just about the only group of space marines that weren’t around for the full heresy. They were just being created towards the end.
