Yep. Forget restoring the balance. Just bring back at least some quality in these Gimmick Whiskies. Nothing happened after Alligator, just Scorch was a junior Alligator. The Traigh Bhans are quite okay … but rather go for one old (independent / indecent) bottle than ten new ones which also will safe space in your cupboard and help saving your relationship. And I am really an Ardbeggian
Ardbeg in recent years have taken the gimmick to new levels, the point of silliness. Restoring the balance falls smartly between not taking life too seriously Monty Pythonish, despite what it is and a focus on the whisky, not the package. If Monty Python were here today, I'd love to see their caricature of the good ship Wencelaus of whisky tasting 'notes' - a satirical ode perhaps to the greater glory of the gimmick and leave us to enjoy the whisky.
I'm a fan of the Ardbeg gimmicks. I like that they don't take themselves too seriously. That said, the prices are a little steep but, Ardbeg, I still love you❤
Every once in a while these gimmicks work out (Alligator, Dark Cove, Supernova…), maybe this will be another one? Hopefully!
This would be very interesting if done to the Dark Cove. I'm still highly excited about the Anamorphic & Bizarrebq. Now you've given the addition of this beast as well, I'm going to have a sensory overload. Oh, nearly forgot the Smoketrails release as well, though that was an International Airport only exclusive release. Would've like to of seen that as a wide scale release, alas we can't always get what we want. Truly, the amount of innovation that you are all doing is incredible.
Wasn't the prurifier not broken arount 1997, just before the re-opening of Ardbeg in 1998? As much as I'm concerned it was repared shortly aferwards. But there was some disilling during the silent time, between 1990 and 1997 where arount 300'000 liters have been distilled by the Laphroaig team every year, and in some bottlings from the 1990's you also can get the heavy vapours.
I hope that roast beef dick smell is pungeant and offensive. Can't wait to try Hevvy VaporZ.

Even the quality of their core range is slipping. Probably because they're focusing too many resources on these overpriced cash grabs!
@@FEWGEE1 what do you consider the core range? I'm not the biggest fan of Ardbeg 10 but I love the Uigeadail and the Wee Beastie is great for the price
@@VBYTP Wee Beastie, An OA, 10 yr old, Corryvreckan, and Uigeadail, are the core range.
I haven't tried Wee Beastie or An Oa. I'm also not a huge fan of the 10 year old, but i love Uigeadail, it's definitely my favourite Ardbeg. Corryvreckan is also great.

Smoke trails was a small disappointment. Very nutty and it detracted from the Islay feel that it should have
