I was up in Detroit.. back in 66... maybe 67.. I was jamming with this band. They called themselves the "Prime Movers" or something. I was using a Special in those days. Late 50's model. The drummer sucked. I was kinda bumbed. It was hotter than hell in this joint, so.. I took off my shirt, which I often did. We were starting to sweat. It was a good time, but.. I knew it wasn't for me. While I was there.. I decided to catch a show at the Cobo. Marvin Gaye was in town, but.. turns out.. he had to cancel, so.. "the Miracles" were headlining. It was a cluster fuck. The backup band's equipment was frozen in at the airport or something. I knew the guitar player, so.. I loaned him my rig. It was a great show. Smokey brought the house down. Awhile later.. a friend tells me.. you gotta see this crew playing the University, so.. we go up. We walk in.. and the singer is rollin' around.. doin' this Jim Morrison shtick. Its that shitty drummer.. and the fucker AIN'T WEARING A SHIRT. Son-of-a-bitch. The Stooges stole my act.
Snuffy Grunt - That band with the shitty drummer was famed luthier Dan Erlewine's band who, among other things, made Albert King his replacement Flying V in the early '70's, "Lucy". The Prime Movers actually opened for Cream so apparently that drummer did bother anyone quite as much as he bothered you :) And Iggy Pop was originally the drummer for the Prime Movers before he moved on to do his own thing. Just a little background info.
A very lovely example of Les Paul Special Strat. Those pick ups are killer tone machines. Live loud the feedback can be a real pain. But oh the tone!!! By far the Strat I've see here all week.
A beautiful Les Paul..I always liked this exact model, and I have never seen it in this color..COOL..BUCKS ,DELUXE. ..COOL AND HOT AT THE SAME TIME.!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
oh yah , TV yellow , very cool , luv the P90's guitars , the JR's , the specials , the ES , they are just straight up garage rock kickers , great job on the Lenny tune Mark , great set , well done. Ya gotta crank out a Marshall next time ya have one of these , just for a change of pace

Interesting....you took the zipper off for the ‘46 Martin, but then for the Les Paul Special with “just the right amount of wear”, you let the jacket on, and even at one point, leaned the guitar back into the zipper. Now does it have “even more of the right amount of wear”? Just say’n Cha-had!
Today's setlist: 1. Aerosmith-Same Old Song and Dance 2. Stone Temple Pilots (STP)-Plush 3. Lenny Kravitz-Always on the Run (thanks to Marquis McMichael)
Siavash Massoudi Seymour Duncan, but they would probably cost more than the guitar. Cheaper end of the scale, Kent Armstrong are very good and reasonable price.
Hey, Mark, did your snazzy motorcycle jacket add any additional relic vibe to the back of that little Special? All the cool zippers and metal ornamentation look like they could scratch the finish. If it did, I bet you can get more money out of it...I mean, now that you're a big Gibson Exec and all. Seems like a possible selling point....
While I appreciate mint and collector's guitars, I'm illogically fond of player's guitars with all the chips and scratches. Feels homey. Not to the extent of Willie Nelson's cigar box, but not museum pieces!
#GibsundayEve #1958LPspecial🇺🇸
1)Same old song & Dance/Aerosmith
2)Plush/STP
3)Always on the run/Lenny Kravitz

Lovely Tuberculosis Yellow LP Special. :-)
Had to sing along to STP, that sounded so great. What a fantastic guitar and thankyou Mark Agnesi, Jen? and all the other guitar lovers at Normans.
Great guitar! I love the simple ones. I would enjoy owning a guitar like this way more than a Burst from the same year.
Sounded amazing, thank you for showing and teaching us about these guitars.

Snuffy Grunt “bumbed” ?
Tioga Fretworks - Ya. It's slang. It means "sad".. depressed.. according to Urban Dictionary. Some use "bummer"
Tioga Fretworks -"It was a real bummer."
"I got really bumbed out."
Either usage is correct. In either case.. the drummer sucked.
Why does this read like '60s fan fiction?

There's just a certain charm about those stripped down, no thrills, bare bones rockers. And this one has BALLS!!!
Great job with that. Excellent video!
Magical sounding guitar!
Dude, you rock! Thanks for keeping it going!

"it's not a Strat but..."
I will gladly take this over any Strat
That one is very near perfect.
I love Fender guitars, but P90s just look right on a Les Paul
I use to want one ☝️
I’ve got an Epiphone Les Paul special based on this guitar. Thinking about installing different p90s in it. Any suggestions anyone?
Siavash Massoudi Seymour Duncan, but they would probably cost more than the guitar.
Cheaper end of the scale, Kent Armstrong are very good and reasonable price.
Well I know this will never work but.... it’s my birthday Wednesday it’d be sweet if you could play some JJ Cale or some Marcy playground
Mmmmmmm...Dream guitar.
