Vintage Gibson Les Paul and SG Juniors sound so huge that it would probably be more appropriate to refer to them as Seniors. Awesome guitar, great choice of songs - well-done Mark (as always) 🤘

I love the overdrive sound out of that combination. There's something so rad about the tone and simplicity of single pickup guitars
this is one of the best sounding guitars you have played here.
the neck is fantastic. A friend let me play his and I swapped him my Telecaster and I wanted to steal this guitar.
The LP jr.was Leslie Wests weapon of choice back in the 6O's.
It would have been nice to hear a few Mountain tunes played on it.

Mark always played songs that brought out the best in the guitars and without special effects, well, other than overdrive. The guy can play, too. All Gibson had to do is watch him on TH-cam and it was bye bye Norms, hello Nashville. No one does this show better than Mark.

I must say I’ve never liked the looks of a junior. I feel like in comparison to nearly all other actual full size LPs, the junior has always looked cheap to me, and in ways where it didn’t feel like Gibson tried really at all to make the guitar look appealing. However, this video has made it glaringly clear why people love them: that tone. I’m sure many prefer the minimalist features and simplicity of the axe as well, but to me that sort of jangly, bell-like chime is priceless. And on a Gibson! Beautiful demo. The tonal character of the guitar and amp are represented attractively here.
Yapping stops at 5:47 and that’s when it starts mattering. Good job.

@@ThePFRG I put a Seymour Duncan jb-4 in my epiphone Les Paul and it sounds pretty awesome, too. The right pickup makes all the difference.

"They gave these to children, Chad!! What were they thinking?!" M's enthusiasm is compelling, and the guitar warrants it. I used to wonder what kind of fuzz boxes the 60's bands used, and I see now it was the guitars themselves, no special effects necessary.
SupernalOne Mick Ronson got his sound by putting a cranked 100 watt Marshall through one 12" speaker. At least that was what I was told at the time....
I had a epiphone lp jr with a humbucker in the bridge as my first electric guitar
Mr. Mark: Why not crank the amp and demonstrate some of the various Volume/Tone combinations instead of just progressively turning up the amp?

If I ever get a vintage guitar the first will most definitely be a 50's Jr. Love the tone. I had a chance to play one before, I believe it was a 55 as well, but it might have been a 56. That thing just simply played itself!

oh yah baby , I have a Jr so I dig the vibe , mines like a 2015 so it's not nearly as cool as a '55 but I luv it , and now I have a cornucopia of Bowie tunes to try out on mine , thanks Mark , just a straight ahead rock and $%^&ing roll machine , the P90's were made for getting into it , crushed it dude. All Bowie all the time. On the original recordings, Mick Ronson played guitar on songs 1 and 3, so who played guitar on the 2nd one? It was David Jones himself.
