Really useful thanks for this...very useful! For anyone else, like me, who struggled to get the BI software off your android phone I used airdroid...very simple. Thanks again!
Thanks for taking the time to show this. I see there is an "Alerts" box. I wonder if there is a way to send a notification to the TV screen if an event is triggered?
Not that I have seen. There may be something with the Android apps Trigger or Tasker that could fire if BI were running in the background, but I haven’t investigated it. If someone finds a way to do that then please post as it would be really cool to see!
This may be a stupid question, but I have purchased Blue Iris for my Android devices. How do I get the APK file, I do not see it anywhere on my tablet?
Why do all that with the PC cmd window and Android tools? All you have to do is download the app "downloader" on firestick then use it to download the blue Iris apk to the fire TV and it's done.
That’s definitely an easier way, but I have seen the downloaders come and go, so I needed to post a way that I knew would persists. But you are 100% right that if you have a good downloader app then that is the way to go. Still awesome to have BI on my TV no matter how it gets there!
Thanks for posting this video! I skimmed through it first, so I may have missed this, but... Can you select a specific camera from the all camera view? Thanks again!
I think you can, but the app doesn’t give you a good visual indication of where the cursor is located. So while you probably can enter the right set up clicks, up, down, etc., it would be rather hard to do blindly.
I ran into an issue where my cmd prompt kept saying failed to authenticate to 192.168.1.xxx:5555 that was because I had to select a box on the FS that was asking if I want to allow a connection from my pc. Once I selected that, I ran abd kill-server in the cmd prompt and then did the connect 192.168.1.xxx and it went smoothly after that. Hope that helps anyone else that may see that message in the cmd prompt. Thanks for this Video!
Good question. I have Reolink cloud-only cams (Reolink Go) for my house that I am building since they are the only good option for a solar-powered cellular cam. I will do a test today of side-loading the Reolink app and post the results. For non-cloud only Reolink cams, you can add those to BlueIris: support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003601394-How-to-Add-Reolink-Cameras-to-Blue-Iris
3/17/2020 I have a brand new Fire TV Stick.I completed the install but can’t find in App. My menu is different than yours. Anyone else have this problem?
Hold down the Home button on the remote for 2-3 seconds, then click Apps. It shows you all your apps. Click left to go straight to the last App installed instead of hitting down several times. If you highlight the App, press the three lines on the remote(to the right of the home key) and you can move the App to the top.
Thanks, Matt. I have been going crazy trying to find a security solution that does not go to the cloud. How would this work regarding viewing cameras while away and on your phone. Secondly, the fire tv does not have much storage so where are all the videos stored to view later. Thanks again.
I set up a VPN server at home, and just connect to that when I'm away from home. Blue Iris has a built in webserver or you can use their app once the VPN is connected.
Yes, I just did that my house. I saw this video and tho I can go through the advanced steps of installing ADB and side loading the app, I figured I'd try firefox first. And it works.
Thank you for taking the time to make a detailed video to save others from muddling through this. Great resource!
I was just wondering if I could do this and came across this video. Great job.

Nice job on BI and the video. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for sharing. Nice to know.
Hi Matthew! Thanks for the video. When you view all cameras, you get video and audio for each feed? Or just video. Thanks!
Your a good teacher ! Great video ! You should be Blue Iris support ! Blue iris support video's are pathetic !
Does this work on current blue iris and fire sticks?
great. How about doing one on the whole server/camera set up or Do you have one to recommend
Great work!
Amazing. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

Good video, what happens if you have more cameras than can fit on a screen, does it scroll or does it shrink the camera views?
The videos shrink and rearrange to fit the number of cameras you have.
Good work

Dougheclipse CMD is cooler 😎
I can't get the BI APK to download

FYI, the Device menu option is now called "My Fire TV"
Does it works with Reolink Cameras too?

You can also use Firefox app in FireTV to browse to the Blue Iris webserver : and provide the login details.

Yep, came here to see if anyone had an answer - I can only get to it by going into Settings / Apps / Blue Iris / Launch app
Hold down the Home button on the remote for 2-3 seconds, then click Apps. It shows you all your apps.
Click left to go straight to the last App installed instead of hitting down several times.

did not get the part using the remote of amazon fire tv????????
Will it work if you type the IP address & port number in Firefox and sign in from there?
Yes, I just did that my house. I saw this video and tho I can go through the advanced steps of installing ADB and side loading the app, I figured I'd try firefox first. And it works.
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
nm, managed not to turn off 1 of the 2 at the beginning of the video.
Go EAGLES!
