Spoiler free explanation: 1- In question of power, Satella and Reinheardt ARE ON THE SAME LEVEL. Yes, that's official information given by the author. Now you see why people think Reinheardt is the "SAITAMA of Re: zero"? 2- Satella is the one choosing checkpoints for Subaru. Like Echidna said, she just wants him to stay alive. That's why the checkpoints are ALWAYS in safe spots. The decision to put himself in danger is Subaru's decision. 3- Subaru can't die in this place. Remember episode 9?
I always thought that the RDB power was the one choosing the checkpoints, not Satella making the conscious decision of the exact point for it. I always thought that the power in itself was that, when dying, you go back in time to right before the decision that led to your death ever existed in the universe; like it's something engrained in the power itself, it does it automatically without anyone having to choose the location. I don't know if I have explained my little RBD hypothesis in a way that it's understandable, sorry if it is messy xD I have to say that I only watch the anime and I'm a few episodes behind the latest one cause I've been busy. So I'm aware that it may have been explained further in the novel or something and I'm totally wrong hahahaha

Yes Subaru achieved something big, so that might be the reason why it got saved there, but I could also see Satella being like "Subaru is mine" and making it so that Rem "can't be saved" (for a while atleast) so that she has Subaru for herself

The reason why Greed, Gluttony, Envy and Lust seem similar is actually because all deadly sins are aspects of Pride. Biblically speaking Pride is the first Sin (Putting oneself above God). In very short terms they all relate to Pride because: Greed: I deserve to Have all that is Gluttony: I deserve to Consume all that is Envy: How dare someone have something I do not Sloth: I don't need to do something to deserve something Lust: All that is must serve me Wrath: How dare "X" thing hurt me or go against me. The differences between Greed and Gluttony are also interesting Greed relates to Hoarding. The acquisition of something is the goal in and of itself. There's no particular reason why Echidna seems to want to know everything. She's just hoarding knowledge. Gluttony relates to Emptiness. You acquire something to consume it, leaving you again in a state of wanting it, it's a cycle. At least that's my interpretation of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Part of me actually wonders if that outburst was planned. Subaru near the end there calls her "infantile and shallow" and comments on how she expresses emotions. I read those lines as saying that Echidna's personality is performative. It makes me wonder; the quirky, charming, at times cute aspects of Echidna may be her intentionally trying to appeal to Subaru. They're her attempts to be personable, to ease tension and make him comfortable so that he'll like, confide in, and trust her. Notice how her outburst at Subaru nearly taking the contract did not dissuade Subaru from that contract, only Minerva did. As such, I think her doing that was specifically to add levity for Subaru and make her seem fallible and relatable. Rather than having the conversation be serious and dreary business proceedings, rather than going slowly and letting him think too much, she acted endearingly excited. She did it at a time to break his concentration and goad him into jumping into the deal quickly without tripping his alarm bells. Not to say she's necessarily lied about anything, I think she largely deals with lying through ambiguity rather than active deception. Also, I'm not even saying that we necessarily don't know anything about her "real personality". I think she may be a sociopath who's real personality IS performative.
That’s exactly how I took her whole cute and flustered act from the beginning. she know a lot, including how to make conversation, make people feel at ease and lowering the power dynamic in the way she did is brilliant, seeming honest with her witchness and like she makes mistakes in the manipulation, making Subaru feel more at ease, like you could see trough her more then you actually can to make him open to deal with her. It’s 300iq stuff until the other witches intervened

There are several spin-off novels of Re:zero. In the Greed IF spin-off Subaru makes the contract with Echidna and she makes him die over 100 million times just to experience every single path available.
To be fair about the proposed contract, Echidna would not do anything Subaru doesn’t want to do. She would show him what she honestly thinks the best choices would be. But she does experience emotions like a normal person does. What she thinks is best would not always be what Subaru thinks is best. It would be a monkey’s-paw situation- Subaru would get his literal desires, but the paths would often be unthinkable. Subaru has already been dehumanizing himself by not respecting life- this would greatly accelerate that.

Easily my favorite episode of the series, and this series has some great episodes. The whole "What happens in each timeline when you die" thing recontextualizes the whole series.
It certainly gives a lot to think about but it’s quite unfortunate that ppl took it to mean that there are parallel universes. I remember before s2 dropped and before I read the novels so many ppl were saying this was cornfield, until I actually read the source and discovered it was all lies.

@@himanbam i don't think it's actually confirmed, she's just saying that people care about him, Subaru at this point thinks of his life as the only thing he can offer to those around him to be useful, but Satella tells him otherwise.
Echidna's whole "choose me" speech in this episode gave me flashbacks to Hatsume's sales pitch from back in My Hero S2; "Ladies and gentlemen, your choice is clear: Hatsume Mei!"

Also I reckon they would love to hear how one of the IF stories (I forgot which one, I think Sloth?) Involves Subaru actually running away with rem at season 1 to actually lead that quiet happy life to old age only to die from old age and loop back to the apple ^_^
I always loved how they showed him the alternate endings after he had died, I always kinda slightly wondered if something like that happened and it was really cool they explored that a little bit and Subaru saw the true ramifications for his actions.

I believe the author has answered the question of what exactly would have happened if Subaru had accepted Echidna's contract. Essentially, she would guide him to the True Ending.... by systematically going through all the Bad endings first. A 100% completion run, so to speak, which is perfectly befitting of someone whose only desire is to gain all knowledge possible. Basically, she would guarantee to help Subaru from breaking down from the trauma, but ALSO have him go through all of it anyway. And, just a fun fact, her amazing speech in this episode was basically just a huge wall of text in the Light novel. The atmosphere of it was achieved simply because there weren't any proper line breaks or paragraphing for basically a whole page. It was just a huge rectangle of letters.
Oh man, this is still my favorite episode of rezero. "Ariubekarazaru ima wo miro" + Rem impersonator + Beatrice's contract + Satella showing up. All in one episode. And of course the cherry on top: Echidna's Monologue. Dona-chan ist just the "best".
Fun fact, in the Greed IF side story that the author wrote, Subaru took Echidnas hand. What happened? Well... Subaru was forced to die 100 million times, not by physical force, but he was put into situations by Echidna that would require him to kill himself or die by another's hand by pushing their buttons and learning what makes everyone tick. Eventually, he does reach his future, but he is no longer the same person, very jaded. One day, while walking through the morning of the mansion, Petra tells Subaru that she is planning on going to the village for shopping and hopes it won't rain. Subaru goes through his day dealing with problems that various people have going on, some of which he already learned how to deal with by having repeated this part of the day a few times. In the evening, he asks one of Roswaal's/His own servants to kill him and he wakes up that very same morning. Why did he do that? So he could tell Petra "Don't worry, I foresee a very sunny day."

They are side stories the author wrote so they are not fan fiction. “If stories” Are pretty much different timelines. “Pride if “ - Subaru never got saved by Reinhardt in the beginning of the story and he went crazy because of it. Elsa killed him almost 100 times before Reinhardt showed up and saved the day. Subaru hated Reinhard because he died 88 times for Elsa to be defeated in one shot. “Wrath if “- Subaru didn’t kill him self on the cliff, then he killed Ram to survive. He became insane and became the “Purge king” “Sloth if” - Subaru runs away with rem “Greed if” - Subaru accepts the contract with echidna and she abuses him, killing him 100 million times! “Gluttony if” - Subaru gets possessed losses his memory still thinks he is “Subaru” but kills everyone of his friends . Once again goes insane. “Lust if” - a troll side story I don’t recommend it. Subaru becomes the harem king.

#1 Thing to note : Satella has killed Emilia in season one so she doesn't need her #2 The dream world doesn't seem to reset in time since every witch knows about Subaru's ability even though it's Echidna's domain #3 Echidna has said that if Subaru dies in the mind domain he will come back a vegetable #4 Reinhard can kill Puck regardless of the spirit fighting back or not ( trying to destroy the world is suicide, because eventually Reinhard will stand in your way), also I find it weird that Puck wanted to hurt him with the comment "A hero is all you will ever be" but I can see this coming to play later on.

When first watching this show, I was dissapointed at how closely it adhered to the traditional hero's journey, but this season has been subverting my expectations and contextualizing the previous one in ways I never imagined: At first, we not only accepted the call, but entered into a bargain without understanding. We met with the mentor, received supernatural aid and found the white spirit, each of them inverted without us realizing until now. We faced allies, foes and even a literal belly of the whale as ordeals and trials, whithout trusting which was which. This season, through the Sanctuary we LITERALLY CROSSED THE FIRST TRESHOLD AND BEGAN THE FINAL TEST, but instead of an inmost cave for the protagonist, we found a witch's graveyard for his bride to face. We found the godess, only to reveal she was the devil. We got a chance to become one with our father and mother, but instead of finding our shadow self next, we ran into our bride's dark and twisted image. We faced wandering, dismembering, and harrowing of the soul, but in the end rejected the ultimate boon. Will the love in the underworld also be refused? I could keep going, but I'd run the risk of spoiling the much superior storytelling twists that you'll find on the next season, the point where this show truly became a classic in my eyes. Just know that you haven't seen Re:Zero at its best quite yet.
If you’re wondering how sharing in return by death would work practically, basically she’d just record his memories after every time he loops. Satella probably wouldn’t be happy about it at all, but as it’s a contract, and he technically didn’t break the taboo, she’d be powerless to stop it.
If Subaru had accepted Echidna's contract here... well, all of his previous deaths would be a drop of water in an ocean... Greed IF, over 100 million deaths, at this point he has no value for his life whatsoever & will kill himself just to know what the weather for the day will be like to assure others if it'll be fine or not for them to do shopping that day... it's that bad...
This episode's cliffhanger reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally sucked. I actually didn't mind how the next episode ends compared to this. Even with the obvious gap between half seasons.
There's a official "what if" story where subaru accepts her offer and dies a billion times to show echidna every reality in exchange for help. He then becomes completely detatched from his own life. He even Kills himself to tell someone that the weather will be nice that day.
Theres a series of IF story’s released by the author depicting the broken Subaru after he makes a wrong choice somewhere in the story. Choosing to hold on to his greed, wrath, or pride. Its a good read if you want to know the hell after Subaru took her contract.
Echidna offered everything she had. Her wisdom, her love, even her body, for access to Return by Death through him. This girl is THIRSTY for knowledge!
The best way to understand sins is to look at their opposites. The opposite of greed is charity, so greed isn't simply a desire to hoard a certain thing - it's an unwillingness to share things with others. The opposite of gluttony is temperance, so gluttony isn't just about eating a lot, but rather it's about lacking self-control. And the opposite of lust is chastity - purity and abstinence - so lust at its core is about indulging in taboos and enjoying the loss of innocence. It's easier to see what makes these sins different from one another in this way.
He would've died. Not just looped. Dying is actually what happens to him when he loops. He doesn't randomly plot armor through and stop death. He literally dies to respawn.
It's revealed in the IF novels that if Subaru would've accepted Echidna's contract he would've proceeded to die and return by death over 100 million times just for the whole sanctuary arc to be resolved.
Poor Beatrice. Echidna told her to wait for someone to give the library to. She meant for Beatrice to pick someone, but she took it mean that she’ll be told by Echidna or revealed by the book or something. And what does Echidna think about that mistake? That it’s neat as hell.

There is a big difference between Greed, Gluttony and Lust. Greed is wanting to HAVE things. Gluttony is wanting to CONSUME things. Lust is a bit harder to describe, but it's being consumed by the things you already have. (People associate lust with sexual things, but it actually has nothing to do with it directly, lust can be for any pleasure, including eating good food or even playing games, sex is just the most common one to see it in) They're all very different actually, and Greed and Gluttony are basically opposites even. If Gluttony is eating as much food as possible, Greed is filling your fridge to the brim to have all the food you would want, regardless of if you eat it or not. Then Lust would be to only eat delicious food because you're only interested in the pleasure of eating it and not on the nutrition it gives you. For other examples, playing videogames for hours on end and not sleeping or eating properly because of that is a show of Lust, and collecting things that you'll never have a use for, like stickers or achievements in games is a show of Greed. One thing that confuses people is that all of them are wants, but they're different in purpose. Greed is wanting something for no reason other than to have it, Gluttony is wanting something because you want to use it, Lust is wanting something because you want to enjoy it. Echidna's character is actually based on exactly that difference. She is the most inhumane of them, exactly because Greed is the most unnatural of all the sins. Gluttony and Lust are both desires that come from a certain reason and that reason is what differs them, while Greed lacks a reason completely, it's simply a desire with no purpose at all, it's wanting for the sake of wanting. Thinking mathematically: Gluttony = Want -> Get -> Use Lust = Want -> Get -> Enjoy Greed = Want -> Get -> Keep Okay, I went on a rant there, sorry...
Subaru is the perfect control sample when running an experiment. He can run through a scenario, die, wipe his memory, and have him redo it with a different variable. Study all the results possible. Infinite research.
So there is an alternate story where he accepts her offer and she makes him die millions of times in order to get him to the best outcome amd subaru loses his humanity along the way. That's the catch.
not spoiler, accepting her offer would have been the worst choice made by subaru in all of re zero . until now he have died may be 30 times but if he had accepted her offer then he would have died over 1 million times from now on.( official information from " greed if " - re zero side story )
she isnt the main villain but shes definately the antagonist of this arc with roswaal. Basically everything that is happening is directly and indirectly her fault and subaru is specifically going against against her ideals

can someone please briefly explain why echidna's contract is bad? I've played the scene several times as well as listen to the discussion but even then, I personally don't see any major downside to it; at least from everything that was said about it. am I missing something here?
She wanted to use Subaru as way to know every variation of every situation. So accepting her contract will mean that Subaru will have to die hundreds, thousands times in every situation just to give Echidna knowledge of every possibility of every event.
Imagine this: I offer you 10 billion dollars but to get it you'll have to come and live with a tribe of cannibals for 5 years. This is basically similar to what Echidna was offering Subaru

Spoiler? Yes, Reinhart is the literal cheat code in Re:Zero. He can one shot almost anyone with only a few exceptions, mainly Satella, which a battle between the two allegedly would end in a stalemate.

Some time in the past used to be 8 sins, and then two of them (that are Vainglory and Melancholy) were included into Pride and Sloth respectively making them 6, and then Envy was created after that as the last sin. Historically, it used to be eight cardinal sins. Vanity used to be among them, but then one of the Popes decided that Vanity (vainglory) is just a subtype of Pride and rolled the two together, bringing the number down to seven.
@@omargoodman2999 Actually I believe that the original 8 also consisted of Melancholy but did not consist of Envy. Vanity was combined into Pride, Melancholy into Sloth making the count 6 and then Envy was added, so although the original count was 8, there are 9 in total.

1- In question of power, Satella and Reinheardt ARE ON THE SAME LEVEL. Yes, that's official information given by the author. Now you see why people think Reinheardt is the "SAITAMA of Re: zero"?
2- Satella is the one choosing checkpoints for Subaru. Like Echidna said, she just wants him to stay alive. That's why the checkpoints are ALWAYS in safe spots. The decision to put himself in danger is Subaru's decision.
3- Subaru can't die in this place. Remember episode 9?
I always thought that the RDB power was the one choosing the checkpoints, not Satella making the conscious decision of the exact point for it. I always thought that the power in itself was that, when dying, you go back in time to right before the decision that led to your death ever existed in the universe; like it's something engrained in the power itself, it does it automatically without anyone having to choose the location. I don't know if I have explained my little RBD hypothesis in a way that it's understandable, sorry if it is messy xD

The reason why Greed, Gluttony, Envy and Lust seem similar is actually because all deadly sins are aspects of Pride. Biblically speaking Pride is the first Sin (Putting oneself above God). In very short terms they all relate to Pride because:
Greed: I deserve to Have all that is
Gluttony: I deserve to Consume all that is
Envy: How dare someone have something I do not
Sloth: I don't need to do something to deserve something
Lust: All that is must serve me
Wrath: How dare "X" thing hurt me or go against me.
The differences between Greed and Gluttony are also interesting
Greed relates to Hoarding. The acquisition of something is the goal in and of itself. There's no particular reason why Echidna seems to want to know everything. She's just hoarding knowledge.
Gluttony relates to Emptiness. You acquire something to consume it, leaving you again in a state of wanting it, it's a cycle.
At least that's my interpretation of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Part of me actually wonders if that outburst was planned. Subaru near the end there calls her "infantile and shallow" and comments on how she expresses emotions. I read those lines as saying that Echidna's personality is performative. It makes me wonder; the quirky, charming, at times cute aspects of Echidna may be her intentionally trying to appeal to Subaru. They're her attempts to be personable, to ease tension and make him comfortable so that he'll like, confide in, and trust her.
Notice how her outburst at Subaru nearly taking the contract did not dissuade Subaru from that contract, only Minerva did. As such, I think her doing that was specifically to add levity for Subaru and make her seem fallible and relatable. Rather than having the conversation be serious and dreary business proceedings, rather than going slowly and letting him think too much, she acted endearingly excited. She did it at a time to break his concentration and goad him into jumping into the deal quickly without tripping his alarm bells.
Not to say she's necessarily lied about anything, I think she largely deals with lying through ambiguity rather than active deception. Also, I'm not even saying that we necessarily don't know anything about her "real personality". I think she may be a sociopath who's real personality IS performative.
Kinda reminds me of the Aes Sedai from Wheel of Time.

That’s exactly how I took her whole cute and flustered act from the beginning. she know a lot, including how to make conversation, make people feel at ease and lowering the power dynamic in the way she did is brilliant, seeming honest with her witchness and like she makes mistakes in the manipulation, making Subaru feel more at ease, like you could see trough her more then you actually can to make him open to deal with her. There are several spin-off novels of Re:zero. In the Greed IF spin-off Subaru makes the contract with Echidna and she makes him die over 100 million times just to experience every single path available.
The 100 milion deaths are only like 2 years into the future pretty sure, yea Subaru is broken beyond recognition at that point.

"Bad" is a soft way of saying it. It's one of the worst endings i could think of
To be fair about the proposed contract, Echidna would not do anything Subaru doesn’t want to do. She would show him what she honestly thinks the best choices would be. But she does experience emotions like a normal person does. What she thinks is best would not always be what Subaru thinks is best. It would be a monkey’s-paw situation- Subaru would get his literal desires, but the paths would often be unthinkable. Subaru has already been dehumanizing himself by not respecting life- this would greatly accelerate that.
She very much would. The cause of Subaru's deaths in Kasaneru were much of her fault and because she was the one suggesting death.

Easily my favorite episode of the series, and this series has some great episodes. The whole "What happens in each timeline when you die" thing recontextualizes the whole series.
It certainly gives a lot to think about but it’s quite unfortunate that ppl took it to mean that there are parallel universes. I remember before s2 dropped and before I read the novels so many ppl were saying this was cornfield, until I actually read the source and discovered it was all lies.

I believe the author has answered the question of what exactly would have happened if Subaru had accepted Echidna's contract.
Essentially, she would guide him to the True Ending.... by systematically going through all the Bad endings first. A 100% completion run, so to speak, which is perfectly befitting of someone whose only desire is to gain all knowledge possible. Basically, she would guarantee to help Subaru from breaking down from the trauma, but ALSO have him go through all of it anyway.
And, just a fun fact, her amazing speech in this episode was basically just a huge wall of text in the Light novel. The atmosphere of it was achieved simply because there weren't any proper line breaks or paragraphing for basically a whole page. It was just a huge rectangle of letters.

Fun fact, in the Greed IF side story that the author wrote, Subaru took Echidnas hand. What happened? Well...
Subaru was forced to die 100 million times, not by physical force, but he was put into situations by Echidna that would require him to kill himself or die by another's hand by pushing their buttons and learning what makes everyone tick. Eventually, he does reach his future, but he is no longer the same person, very jaded. One day, while walking through the morning of the mansion, Petra tells Subaru that she is planning on going to the village for shopping and hopes it won't rain. Subaru goes through his day dealing with problems that various people have going on, some of which he already learned how to deal with by having repeated this part of the day a few times. In the evening, he asks one of Roswaal's/His own servants to kill him and he wakes up that very same morning. Why did he do that? So he could tell Petra "Don't worry, I foresee a very sunny day."

“Wrath if “- Subaru didn’t kill him self on the cliff, then he killed Ram to survive. He became insane and became the “Purge king”
“Sloth if” - Subaru runs away with rem
“Greed if” - Subaru accepts the contract with echidna and she abuses him, killing him 100 million times!
“Gluttony if” - Subaru gets possessed losses his memory still thinks he is “Subaru” but kills everyone of his friends . Once again goes insane.
“Lust if” - a troll side story I don’t recommend it. Subaru becomes the harem king.

I'd just like to point out that Tappei mentioned that the closest Echidna can get to a love declaration was that entire speech, and honestly, valid.
I believe they mentioned several times at this point, but Satella killed the other witches (allegedly at least).
When first watching this show, I was dissapointed at how closely it adhered to the traditional hero's journey, but this season has been subverting my expectations and contextualizing the previous one in ways I never imagined: At first, we not only accepted the call, but entered into a bargain without understanding. We met with the mentor, received supernatural aid and found the white spirit, each of them inverted without us realizing until now. We faced allies, foes and even a literal belly of the whale as ordeals and trials, whithout trusting which was which. This season, through the Sanctuary we LITERALLY CROSSED THE FIRST TRESHOLD AND BEGAN THE FINAL TEST, but instead of an inmost cave for the protagonist, we found a witch's graveyard for his bride to face. We found the godess, only to reveal she was the devil. We got a chance to become one with our father and mother, but instead of finding our shadow self next, we ran into our bride's dark and twisted image. We faced wandering, dismembering, and harrowing of the soul, but in the end rejected the ultimate boon. Will the love in the underworld also be refused? I could keep going, but I'd run the risk of spoiling the much superior storytelling twists that you'll find on the next season, the point where this show truly became a classic in my eyes. Just know that you haven't seen Re:Zero at its best quite yet.

There's a official "what if" story where subaru accepts her offer and dies a billion times to show echidna every reality in exchange for help. He then becomes completely detatched from his own life. He even Kills himself to tell someone that the weather will be nice that day.
Theres a series of IF story’s released by the author depicting the broken Subaru after he makes a wrong choice somewhere in the story. Choosing to hold on to his greed, wrath, or pride. Its a good read if you want to know the hell after Subaru took her contract.
Echidna offered everything she had. Her wisdom, her love, even her body, for access to Return by Death through him. This girl is THIRSTY for knowledge!
The best way to understand sins is to look at their opposites. The opposite of greed is charity, so greed isn't simply a desire to hoard a certain thing - it's an unwillingness to share things with others. The opposite of gluttony is temperance, so gluttony isn't just about eating a lot, but rather it's about lacking self-control. And the opposite of lust is chastity - purity and abstinence - so lust at its core is about indulging in taboos and enjoying the loss of innocence. It's easier to see what makes these sins different from one another in this way.

He would've died. Not just looped. Dying is actually what happens to him when he loops. He doesn't randomly plot armor through and stop death. He literally dies to respawn.
Fun fact, in the Re:Zero web novel the Echidna speech was multiple pages long.

There is a big difference between Greed, Gluttony and Lust.
Greed is wanting to HAVE things.
Gluttony is wanting to CONSUME things.
Lust is a bit harder to describe, but it's being consumed by the things you already have. (People associate lust with sexual things, but it actually has nothing to do with it directly, lust can be for any pleasure, including eating good food or even playing games, sex is just the most common one to see it in)
They're all very different actually, and Greed and Gluttony are basically opposites even. If Gluttony is eating as much food as possible, Greed is filling your fridge to the brim to have all the food you would want, regardless of if you eat it or not. Then Lust would be to only eat delicious food because you're only interested in the pleasure of eating it and not on the nutrition it gives you.
For other examples, playing videogames for hours on end and not sleeping or eating properly because of that is a show of Lust, and collecting things that you'll never have a use for, like stickers or achievements in games is a show of Greed.
One thing that confuses people is that all of them are wants, but they're different in purpose. Greed is wanting something for no reason other than to have it, Gluttony is wanting something because you want to use it, Lust is wanting something because you want to enjoy it.
Echidna's character is actually based on exactly that difference. She is the most inhumane of them, exactly because Greed is the most unnatural of all the sins. Gluttony and Lust are both desires that come from a certain reason and that reason is what differs them, while Greed lacks a reason completely, it's simply a desire with no purpose at all, it's wanting for the sake of wanting. Thinking mathematically:
Gluttony = Want -> Get -> Use
Lust = Want -> Get -> Enjoy
Greed = Want -> Get -> Keep

can someone please briefly explain why echidna's contract is bad? I've played the scene several times as well as listen to the discussion but even then, I personally don't see any major downside to it; at least from everything that was said about it. am I missing something here?
She wanted to use Subaru as way to know every variation of every situation. So accepting her contract will mean that Subaru will have to die hundreds, thousands times in every situation just to give Echidna knowledge of every possibility of every event.
Imagine this: I offer you 10 billion dollars but to get it you'll have to come and live with a tribe of cannibals for 5 years.
This is basically similar to what Echidna was offering Subaru

Yes, Reinhart is the literal cheat code in Re:Zero. He can one shot almost anyone with only a few exceptions, mainly Satella, which a battle between the two allegedly would end in a stalemate.

I mean, Hector and Pandora are part of the deadly sins too. Some time in the past used to be 8 sins, and then two of them (that are Vainglory and Melancholy) were included into Pride and Sloth respectively making them 6, and then Envy was created after that as the last sin. (The only part that its a spoiler is about saying Hector and Pandora names, the rest is actually a fact)
Historically, it used to be eight cardinal sins. Vanity used to be among them, but then one of the Popes decided that Vanity (vainglory) is just a subtype of Pride and rolled the two together, bringing the number down to seven.
@@omargoodman2999 Actually I believe that the original 8 also consisted of Melancholy but did not consist of Envy. Vanity was combined into Pride, Melancholy into Sloth making the count 6 and then Envy was added, so although the original count was 8, there are 9 in total.
