Thanks to everyone for all your lovely words about how great I'm looking at the moment. Of course it's a large part to do with how I'm taking care of myself, showing up for myself, but also I've had a few "tweakments" over the last few months. In this video I show the entire process of deciding and what I end up getting done.
This video contains medical procedures and needles.

Over 30 years ago I lost 150 lbs, walking. I had a tummy tuck…skin removal on the abdomen…I didn’t do my arms because it was too expensive. That surgery changed my life! I don’t tell many people because the judgement is real, also it’s none of their business. I have had a nice flat abdomen for the past 30 years, and at 65 I still do! Anyone who thinks we did this the easy way never went through our journey…good luck in whatever you choose for you!

I'm on my way to a 120 pound loss and, at the age of 64, I realize the changes to my face and body will be different to those of a younger person. I'm trying to begin getting my head around this now and you are the only one who talks about these challenges of the journey. Your "middle of weight loss" video is one I repeat a LOT! Thanks so much for this valuable content.

Karen, I'm 69 and trying to lose the same as you. At my age, the only thing I worry about is that my eyelids will droop down over my eyes. They already do a little and I've only lost 50. I have to admit, Carla looked beautiful even in her before losing weight picture, and again before the procedure, but she looks even more beautiful now. Maybe I should really consider getting the drooping eyelids fixed when the time comes.

You were very cute even before the weight loss! I have lost 90 lbs. I have since had filler in my face and I am scheduled for a tummy tuck and breast lift in November. I still have a lot of loose skin in my arms and legs, but may have to just live with that because all of this is expensive. I am almost 72 yrs old, so my skin does not have much resiliency. I am still thrilled with the weight loss. My daughter laughed and said did you ever think you were going to peak at 70! I have to admit…I’m a hottie!😂🥰

I know exactly what you're talking about after loosing a large amount of weight. My face became looking old, ill and has wrinkles on the cheeks. Just so far I'm still thinking about getting fillers and one doc I considered told me, that due to the amount of lost fat in my face and my age, fillers won't work. But better a wrinkly face than an unhealthy weight. Congratuations to the results! They look really natural and good!

Yesss! I totally understand ALL of your rationale. Thank you for this video! And great that you were able to film your consultation and procedure. (I, too, have started injections to my forehead. [Haven't tried filler yet.] I'm still losing weight, so I guess I'll have to see what's staring back at me in the mirror once I'm closer to goal.) I think this is an important conversation to have for those of us who experience major body composition changes. There's so much involved in terms of mental health, self-care, body image/esteem, and grappling with stigmas (size, age, etc.). It can feel triumphant to arrive at the moment when you want to AND CAN do something like this.

You go girl! I used to get filler&botox back when I was working full time and LOVED how it looked. Now that I’m broke I do “face yoga” and practice awareness so as not to have an habitual “oh woe is me” look lol. Once you become aware of whatever outer expression you want to project it’s just takes some practice and that’s half the battle. The other thing that happened with the Botox is my muscles learned to overpower it so I had to keep getting more and more to achieve the same results.
Now my forehead is falling down and I wish I could get that snatched but financially that won’t be happening anytime soon

Carla-I never stop being amazed at what people are willing to say when they are sitting at a computer screen. You look amazing, and I understand why you had that “boost” after your weight loss. I started getting Botox when I was about 42, after I glanced at a photo, and thought it was an old one of my mom. It wasn’t. I also was told, even in my 30’s, that I had “resting bitch face”! They don’t say it anymore. 😄After what you accomplished with your weight loss, you should absolutely take it to the next level, if that’s what you want to do. No explanations need to be given.

I think I must do that, not because I want, instead I think it will be to much hanging, so it will be impossible to walk, and problem under tummy etc. I looked to the end but forgot what smiley you wanted.

Honestly, I agree with you. I feel like it's almost like reconstructive surgery after weigth loss. You become the way you should have looked all along but couldn't because of your food addiction. And now you've beaten it and you deserve to look as beautiful and healthy as you always should have. And if you've got the means, yeah why not. I'm not sure though if it's really that common outside of the beauty influencer bubble. And of course there's dangers that go with it. If everything's improvable then we get a certain norm of beauty etc etc I also don't like the language that is being used, pointing out "flaws" in faces. In the most extreme sense it can instill great insecurity in vulnerable groups like teenagers. But honestly, we already have that anyway and cosmetic surgery only plays a small part in it. After weight loss, is definitely a case where I'm all for it. I'm only against it if people feel pressured to get it to reach an "ideal". I'm really fond of personal little asymmetries cause they make faces individual and interesting. Like your slightly receding chin. That's personal and special.

I'm just starting my weight loss journey. I went from 125 to 230 on a 5'5" med boned frame. I'm also going on 52 and went through menopause.
Honestly I would be happy at 140. But I'm ashamed to say I'm afraid to lose weight and have all the extra skin. I'm afraid it will make me look older. Hopefully there is something to help fix that without looking pulled.

I just stumbled across your page randomly tonight and I’m so chuffed about it! I love how you talk about how much you love how you look (and feel) but you don’t sound conceited in the SLIGHTEST. Just complete self-love. That is awesome! Thank you for being so honest and transparent in all of your videos. You’re amazing. 😊

I love that you thought deeply about it before committing - I was in my late 40s when I lost 50kg - and frankly, enjoyed my slightly gaunt look - what is interesting, is how now I'm 61, my face and body have all reshaped naturally (as in with being an active and healthy woman) - I'm content without any interventions - I have a natural outlook with most of life, but I know that as a younger woman I was less confident - one of the best things I ever did for my self esteem was hair removal on my legs - I'd hated my pale skin with dark long hair since a girl - so I do understand that we all have our personal journey with body image. Great video sharing.

I never leave comments on videos, but I just cannot help myself. I absolutely loved hearing you say how you feel so fabulous Carla. You absolutely deserve it and you do look fabulous. I got so excited hearing you speak so beautiful about yourself and how you feel. I just love when women feel amazing about yourself and in their self, and I love when I feel that way Keep up the good work keep on loving yourself and spreading that loved others. It is a great example to look up to and very inspiring. I wish all women could say that about their selves that they feel freaking fabulous every woman deserves to feel that way. X

I appreciate this video. I've close to losing 70 of 87 lbs and my face is not looking it's best either. I couldn't figure it out but now watching your video, it makes sense.
I was already planning to do fat transfer into my boobs since I lost a lot of volume there but now I'm going to definitely do the tear troughs. I had already been considering Botox.
My husband doesn't want me to get my boobs done but I still have more fat to lose but before it's all gone, I can take advantage of the excess and transfer it.

    • @roxanamcglinchey6613
      @roxanamcglinchey6613 ปีที่แล้ว

I think fat transfer is the better way to go, as it's permanent so much cheaper in the long run. I wish you well in your journey...

I lost over 30 kilos and just like you said Carla, my face looks gaunt. I had really loose neck skin and that was I could see when I look at myself in the mirror, and for this I was very interested in PDO neck threads procedure. Luckily I went to an amazing injector and she suggested chin filler instead, just 1ml and my oh my it balance my face out. no one knew that I did something and thats how I love it❤ I have also done some baby botox before but that was for excessive facial sweating from when I was much bigger but all in all, as a woman in her late 30s, I will say women should be empowered to do anything they want. Just because you had some work done, that means you “dumb” or “bimbotic”, dont let society tells you anything. If any of you want to do it, make sure you can afford it, do your reserch and go for it. Its your face, enjoy it. ❤
