hey guys! just wanna clarify when i said that this feels different than got7’s normal music, that statement was based off the songs i’ve reacted to (lullaby, girls girls girls, etc). i’m DEFINITELY still new to got7. i’m seeing that the title tracks sound different than the b-sides so i guess that’s why i was led to make that assumption. this is a journey and i’m sure the more i react to them, the more i will discover and be educated 👍🏽
i understand jeff, since u react only on tittle track which mostly not composed by the members, make it kind of hard to see got7 actual colours. but their versatility is superb. i appreciate your reaction and opinion towards them!
Don't worry, it happens, actually this is Got7. Title tracks tend to be commercial chart friendly. This is Youngjae's song, and the next release is JB's.
they'll have 2 title tracks for this comeback...Breath (penned by Youngjae) and Last Piece (penned by JB) and 2 mvs is connected.
when you said that this song was more like what you're into, I immediately knew you'd probably enjoy got7's b sides a lot. Breath aligns perfectly with some of their best b sides like Page, Teenager or Thursday.
Fun fact: JYP rejected Page as title track even though that's what all the members wanted bc to him "it was not GOT7's color". Having a song like this (written and composed by Youngjae) feels like we're finally getting the creative freedom we so much wanted for Got7 and people will get to see the GOT7's color that was there all along.

you know why it just sounds so good? because this song was produced by youngjae! in fact, all the members participated in the upcoming album. the reason why you think it sounds different is because jyp didn't get his hands on it. usually, jyp would be involved in it, or even told them to change the sound if it's not to his liking (which sucks because got7 are a bunch of talented producers and songwriters). thankfully, now we get to hear got7's sound SOUND in both title tracks and b-sides. i know you said you'll check their upcoming cb, so i'm excited for your reaction and analysis! btw, i think they didn't include dancing in this mv because jackson was in quarantine during october and most of this were shot without jackson too if we look carefully.
they made it really well considering all this!! the boys, the song, the mv, the mv transitions are 💯💯💯

Actually this is got7's color. This is GOT7. Their b side tracks are like this. If only jyp gave them chance for the past years. But nonetheless im happy that jyp finally gave in, and give the spotlight to youngjae and jaebum and did not interfere in making this pre-release and the title track.

Youngjae wrote and composed the song! This is a pre-release but is also a title track. Therefore, they're coming back with two title tracks, Breath and Last Piece (written and composed by JB).
And actually, this is REALLY GOT7's sound. But they can usually just show it through their b-sides because they rarely had full creative control for their title tracks. Except for this comeback. Youngjae said that this song really shows GOT7's "refreshing charm" which many people like. Other songs of them with this refreshing concept are Teenager, Page, You Are, etc. Youngjae also posted an Instagram story a few days ago saying something like, "If it's GOT7, it's refreshing (concept) right? If not, then it's whatever."

@@JeffAvenue no probs sorry if i was harsh it wasn’t meant to it’s just that a lot of reactors make that mistake when practically their whole discography always had these sounds minus some of the title tracks, and people tend to think it’s a fact when it’s not when listening their various work.

GOT7’s B-Sides are more like this! This is definitely more like their sound since Breath and their songs similar to it are usually produced by the members :)) This one’s produced by Youngjae!

This is Got7. Eclipse, YCMN, and NBTM is... Heavy with their company input. But if you listen to their B tracks, you'll find Breath there.

This is actually the most got7 song they’ve released, like jyp finally let them do it on their own style, and of course it is amazing ;)
It's honestly the most GOT7 they've sounded in 2 years I think (for me). They did something similar with the pre-release for Eyes on you with the Hyolyn feature and mini MV. I really enjoyed that.
Maybe you haven't really engaged in a GOT7's song because you never heard of their B-sides, which most of the time has the same tone as this song (not exactly but you know what I mean). For ahgases, this song is sooo them and have that particular GOT7 color that we love!
If you hear their other releases, this has Got7’s signature sound. SOO GOOD FOR A PRE RELEASE!
It's fun to see how people who are more familiar with GOT7's sound overall (outside of titles but including side tracks) will say "THIS IS SO GOT7" in like the first 5 seconds haha It's good for the more causal GOT7 listeners to see what GOT7's true color is :) Youngjae did such a good job showcasing who GOT7 really is!

Youngjae wrote this! Last Piece by JB and the whole full album is by them. No JYP. There will be 10 songs total. This is an amazing song and MV. So good! Way to go Youngjae and Got7!

I'm so glad you like it because I've been sure that GOT7's B-sides would hook you if you got to them (though this is technically a pre-release title, it's still GOT7's sound and what you hear more in their B-sides)
Yeah agree with you abt how this song is so different with their other song but for me, i think this more show off their true colors. I can't wait for their full album coz this gonna be amazing and no JYP on credits make it more special for GOT7 and Ahgase

@Sonia I think that is what @rira_ alvina is saying. If you only listen to title tracks of GOT7, then yes, this song may seem different to you. But if you are familiar with all of GOT7 discography, then you know about GOT7’s real sound because the B-sides are where they had the most say in their sound up to this point. Even for the title tracks that JB did get to release, JYP had his foot all up in it so most of the time JB didn’t even recognize the song when it was all done.

This song is so got7, I think you should check out more of their music! Their discography is seriously flawless
this song is actually very brand on for got7’s color. it’s just that for title songs, most of the the jyp interferes with them and changes them but when you look at their self composed b-sides you can see that while it’s a different sound it’s not really that different lol

I know you said this song feels unusual for GOT7 but this is actually most representative of their vibe!! The songs that represent them best often are not made title tracks because of JYPE (long story short JYPE usually tries to make their title tracks fit in with kpop trends but GOT7 themselves don’t make that kind of music so their B-sides where they have more creative control are usually are more their style) but they usually become the fandom’s anthems!
Tbh the only song I think JYPE got right was Lullaby.
Hope you check out their B-sides (on albums from 7 for 7 onwards) which often have this chill vibe!

This song feels different to you because it’s has the GOT7 sound all over. I must say that this is one of the best songs to describe their color. The sad thing is that we rarely hear that in title tracks.

honestly this is not different from got7 THIS IS GOT7 there isn’t any better title track that can describe them better then breath. They have been making these type of song for their albums it’s just jype that never let them use their own self produced songs as their tittle track. u will know what I mean if u listen to their full albums

Like everyone else is saying here, this is a very got7 sound. Not the ones jyp makes for them but the ones the members write themselves. The first time i heard it it felt like its a got7 song ive heard before, like the vibe just captures genuine got7. It also feels like a youngjae song! If i didnt know youngjae made this, i would probably still say its color is very youngjae!

All of the members of Got7 took part in the upcoming album. Youngjae actually produced and wrote this song “Breath” which is one of the title tracks of their album. The next title track called “Last Piece” is written and composed by JB which will be released on Nov 30th along with the rest of the songs in their new album. During their vlive, they showed snippets of their choreo for “Last Piece” so we can expect it to possibly be a hard song/good beat to dance to! This is the true colour of Got7 that JYPE have been holding them back from doing for several years. So proud of them!
Oh so that dance was for Last Piece that they did on Vlive? Ok, because I wasn’t sure if they were kidding or not when they said that didn’t learn the whole choreo yet. I guess they don’t need the while thing for the video. 🤷🏿♀️ Either way, can’t wait until November 30th!! 🤗

if you listen to their b-sides this song is actually very much in line with got7's music style! (at least the songs produced by themselves), this song was made by Youngjae, and the title track by Jaebeom. The other songs on the album are made by the other members as well, finally they get the musical freedom they fought for for so long - and though I've always enjoyed their music, their own songs definitely fit them the best. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and look forward to you reacting to the title! I have high expectations for this comeback

I had the same reaction when i heard the drop. I was amazed by how good they are. It was my first time listening to their song too.
This is why got7 are the ones that know got7's color. No one can fit their styles like themselves.
'Breath' is a pre-release music video for the upcoming album, I believe there's no dance choreo to this song. Their actual comeback, the title track with choreo should be this song called 'LAST PIECE', which will be released on Nov.30th
I recommend you listen to their B-sides ;) this is actually how GOT7’s music sounds. Most of the songs they’ve written/composed/produced are in line with this type of music. Hope you enjoy! :)
Btw, i think they’re saving the Breath’s choreo (hoping they have one) for the music shows. :)
