I have the VONTAR branded version of this remote. Really close to excellence (for the price) but it desperately needs software for custom key mapping.

You have to press the button to activate.

Thumbs up. How do you compare the operation to a logicech keyboard + mouse + dongle? Asking because I'm thinking of taking a TV box, like the lovely H96 Max, travelling with me for email, internet, watching movies. As there is always a TV in the hotel room.
It depends what your comfortable with, keyboard and mouse combo is probably nicer to use but will take up space. Where as this little remote is convenient.
how does the air mouse work? There is no device to recognise where the remote is pointing so I am confused by that.

I picked up this remote for $10 USD (The WECHIP branded version) thinking it was just a media remote...was pleasantly surprised to find out it was much more than that and am very glad that this happy accident occurred as I now prefer this over a standard media remote. For the price and functionality, it really can't be beat. The pointing is very responsive and accurate which I wouldn't have expected from such a low cost solution.

The volume buttons dont work with a FireTV device or the power bitton, everything else is good

The manual suggests a "learning mode" similar to that of an android remote, by that I mean infrared controls, however, I cannot make it turn off my TV, despite my following the instructions to have it do so.
Yes this remote will not be able to power your device on or off.

some are noisier than others, i have minix a2 and the clicking does my wifes head in lol
They're definitely "clicky" sounding and not quiet but not harsh either. I'd say it sounds similar to the buttons on an old cell phone.

Yes back button works fine. Just power button does not switch off the shield.

Its not a left click button that mouse button activates the mouse cursor on screen.
so if I use on my PC, will it give me a left and a right click?
Shawn Guest "ok" button is left click and the 3 horizontal lines button is right click, but make sure to select what you want right clicked, otherwise you will always get the windows background right click options.

Plug your chromcast power supply into one end plug the other end into your chromcast and put the dongle into the USB port. You can also use this adapter in the USB port and add even more USB devices

Power button will only make your device go into standby.

Hi Chigz Tech -- nice reviews tks - i need your help to found a Air-mouse - keyboard that have 3 important keys. to use on my Tanix TX6s. many box model don't bring any Navigation Bar and need install APKs Virtual Navigation buttons but some rooted box the Recent (square) virtual button NOT work. ( Home/back/recente virtual buttons) that is i need in air-mouse command . mainly the Recent square button - the multitasking square button to acess /change /close aplications running. I only need for sure from you, if the Menu key on that control/comand that you use make this functions well - Home / Back / Recent ( multitasking list apks running management) or if you know other model of air-mouse that have that function key - Recent running apks. tks a lot if you help

Hi - I have the Wechip branded version of this device which has an IR power on/off function which can learn from the TV box remote. Anyone got this function to learn? On mine it does not appear to function as the manual describes. Other than that it works very well with my H96MAX
I dont believe this version has IR learning feature. That would be cool though.
Hi, I eventually got the IR learning to work - the English translation in the manual was confusing but I eventually worked out what it meant. The IR function is very useful as I can power on the H96MAX remotely when the wireless link is down. The Wechip seems to be very similar to the Zidoo but with the useful IR function.
