His music is fantastic and the way in which he performs it live is pretty genius, but the best bit about this is just watching him I think. He bounces and sways and he does so many different things with that violin and his face is forever changing it's brilliant!!
a professor showed my friends and I this performance when i was in first year college around 7 or 8 years ago, then lent us his copy of his music. every few years, i return to this performance to re-center myself. it is 2021 and i feel a little more grounded again. kishi bashi, you fantastic artist.
This man is such a class act. I was a huge fan of his work with Jupiter One and was so sad when they broke up. But this performance is just so great. He's such an incredible violinist and songwriter, yet modest. So glad he kept making music :)
My favorite new music artist. Thanks NPR for the great interview. Favorite song so far = Manchester. I haven't listened to the new album "Lighght" though.
Wow, so I just discovered Kishi Bashi, his song played on "Miracle Workers - Bright Whites". What a talent you have Bashi. An amazing man you are. Continued Success my friend!
one thing I love about him is...the violin is turning into be a part of him...he is just comfortable.. and 'natural' about playing, singling, being with the violin..I've felt that way for a while with my favorite bicycle..(until I fell horribly on a paved road!) It's a magic. I guess that is what we seen in arts, artists.
its one of those shows where people only do that on like 1 song. the rest of the time everyone waits to go crazy after each song and concentrates on the music when its playing.
idk, I have seen this guy three times in Seattle and each time the crowd wasn't afraid to clap and cheer out. First time with Of Montreal people went nuts, second time when he played with Bison it was a little reserved, but just a few days ago at The Crocodile people were cheering and clapping along to the point I wanted them to shut up so I could listen to the music haha
You can do that on the album. Live is for a shared experience. If you go see a live show to listen to the music it kinda defeats the purpose of going live
This guy is having a concert in my town for $10 at an age-restricted venue. I am seriously considering making a fake ID right now, you don't even know...

Good professor.
after at least 100 plays- Manchester is still officially the most beautiful song I've ever heard -finally seeing him live next month!
jealous
Couldn’t agree more. Was lucky to see him once in Boston and once in Vt. Been wanting to see Omoiyari, his song film
He sampled their clap, genius
the way he smiles when he plays or sings is just so warm and happy uwu

Watching K ishibashi is a spiritual experience.
Except for the fact that he still writes multi-part symphonies and plays, sings, and beatboxes exquisitely.
WoW!
I cried a little during the "Kissing the Lipless" cover. Once of my favourite musical artists covering my favourite band. Too much for me to handle.
My favorite new music artist. Thanks NPR for the great interview. Favorite song so far = Manchester. I haven't listened to the new album "Lighght" though.

Saw him live tonight. Out of this world! Thank you KEXP for showing an amazing musician to the world!
this is absolutely one of the best things ever. dreamy. Audrey Horne would say, dreamy.

Opening bottled water while keeping the sustain on his violin. Pfft..maybe add some Cirque movements to make it unbelievable. Incredible talent.
Wow, not what I expected at all when I saw the violin thumbnail. Good stuff! Love the creative sound.

If the audience makes noise, it gets stuck on the loops. Usually, musicians will ask the audience to be quiet to minimize this.
Who down voted this vid? WHO??? KB is pure perfection ❤️
15 people are soundgarden fans
Гениально!
Holy hell
great
HIm and Dosh need to do an album.
This guy is having a concert in my town for $10 at an age-restricted venue.
I am seriously considering making a fake ID right now, you don't even know...
10:30 That moment !
This is great.. but i miss Jupiter One so bad!!
He actually toured with Regina Spektor and with Reggie Watts. So they've probably jammed together :)
Damn, I miss Jupiter One.
