  • K Ishibashi is a master of building his music from the ground up, from live violin loops to layered singing to beatboxing, in order to create pocket symphonies steeped in classical music and 21st-century pop. He brings that ingenuity and songcraft to the Tiny Desk at the NPR Music offices.
    Set List:
"Improvisation / Atticus, In The Desert"
    "Bright Whites"
"I Am The Antichrist To You"

This. This exact video is what inspired me to start my career.
I was so miserable and so lost, and Kaoru was the musician that I found that guided me where I needed to go. I've met him a handful of times, made art for him, and I have all of his albums signed by him on vinyl. This man is unreal; his mind is one of the most beautiful and brilliant things that I have ever been able to see personally. I found more complex thoughts just by listening to his music and it broadened my entire understanding on what I view life as. I truly hope others have found their way in life. If anything, thank you Kaoru Ishibashi. You helped me find happiness.

Agreed. I paid for front row and it was worth every cent to be able to visually see what was occurring as all of that flooded my ears. I actually had tears rolling down my face at a few points, it is just THAT GOOD.

I can't believe the dimensions of his creativity. With all of the layers, he's got to keep so much sorted out during his performance to do what does... a very heavy cognitive load. And then he adds creativity to it. Not only is he an incredible musician, he must be simply brilliant. I don't want to go for hyperbole, but this is must of what it felt like to be in the presence of Mozart.

One of a kind.Great Artist. What makes N.P.R so great is that they highlight a lot of lesser known talent and present them in a more intimate setting so you can hear and see how they truly shine. When My Family, Friends and I get together and Play and Sing and Dance it is a small affair. It brings us together in Peace and Love.Brings Good Energy and Light to this often cold, dark world.

Hearing his music on Rick & Morty and subsequently falling in love with his works. Only to discover NPR picked him up 10 years prior - you guys have always been switched on to great artists before they made it big. Can't believe "I Am The Antichrist To You" is older than 10 years and I've only just discovered it. Would've loved to hear that when I was younger
