    You make it look so easy, like a tutorial! Lines, ergos & geometry are killer. The darker stonewashing is fire. And I can feel the handle just from looking...🤯

      Thank you, the geometry of this knife does not work with a belt sander, the quick grinding of the belt sander will destroy the lines. A file is safer. You are glad you liked my video.

    I'm watching this because I've been trying to see how many different knife makers have made this specific knife but I've also learned something I didn't expect...
    That pair of long locking pliers you use for heat treating makes way too much sense not to use. Yet I've always used blacksmith tongs, and I've got one of those pliers in my shop. 🤣🤣 How many times do we see someone drop their knife right into the heat treating oil and warp it. Geez. I think I'm going to use that now. Haha.

  • @genejeffries2888
    @genejeffries2888 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Beautiful work.
    now, loose the sawish bit on top and replace it with a false edge. Delete the subhilt/finger groove and add some aggressive checkering to the scales and you would have a very practical fighting knife.
    As it is you have a pretty knife that you can only hold one way, will snag in clothing or meat and then promptly slip out of your grip.
    Thats not on the maker, that's on the original designer, great workmanship on the makers part, just following a flawed pattern.
    I used to love the look of the sub hilt knives(still do) until I learned to really use a knife. Second, the whole point of a fighting knife is to punch holes in the really juicy bits of a human, that can lead to getting your hands very wet with a very slippery substance... aggressive grip surface is a must or at best you lose your knife, at worse you slip up the knife and lose function of that hand... probably at a time you can least afford to lose said function.
    And yes....I know, its how it's shown in the game. Thats not really an acceptable excuse.
    But as far as craftsmanship, well done.
