- This video completely records the entire process of making the dagger. The steel plate forged from countless steel balls, I call it Dragon Skin Damascus. Under the reflection of sunlight, this dagger can reflect colorful colors. This is my favorite work and the most complicated dagger to make. Thank you for watching.
This dagger was designed by Neels Van Den Berg (ABS MS). You can find the drawings on their website.www.blackdragonforge.com

That's the nicest looking ball bearing Damascus I've seen. Great work!
Beautifully executed dagger! Great handle with beautiful grain! The Dragonhide damascus blade is fantastic! 🤔😱😁
the blade has 1 of the nicest patterns I have seen! Nice antiquing on the brass!
Thanks!🍻
Absolutely agreed.. I’m very interested to know what chemicals you used for the aging of the brass and on the blade? It looked like a copper sulphate solution on the cross guard. Was it liver of sulphur you used on the blade? Thank you for your outstanding craftsmanship and video 🙏
Agree - that is a beautiful blade.
That is a great tool collection! Happy for you! Thanks for sharing!
I think the handle is ok, pretty but. The shape of the blade, style is beautiful! Love it....a real piece of art. Functional and the pattern is holy. Can't say enough about the blade. 😊
So I just sat here for fifteen and a half minutes watching this? Not sorry at all. What a beautiful piece. Amazing!!
That's one of the best forge welds I have ever seen!
Absolutely stunning. The whole thing is beautiful but hat wood burl handle is the final stab. 10/10.🥰
I usually think that damascus from ball bearings looks like trash, but this is fantastic!!!
right this is sweet looking
Yeah, if you don't warp the shape and just leave it as circles it just looks goofy.
It's because most of the time, people keep pressing it to draw the desired length, in this case, I bet he carefully chose the tube length to not press more than the forge weld would require. You can even see that he cut off a lot of leftover, thick wise, from the forged tube.
Damascus is an oft wrong used term. This is pattern welded steel.
Agree it's a beautiful end result however
@@stuartburns8657 yeah, we know. But we've been using them interchangably for the last century, so....
This is your best piece yet! Gorgeous dagger
The key to this was so simple, yet imperative. Vibrating the canister to allow the powdered steel to sink in the canister to fill the spaces in between the ball bearings was genius. Well on you good sir!
wow. that is the coolest knife ever
it's a beautiful blade, beautiful craftsmanship and it looks incredibly amazing.
The only thing I'd nitpick as someone who's been using blades all their life would be that the grip is round. That isn't nitpicking your craftsmanship, it's nitpicking the standard design itself of such a dagger.
The Fairbairn Sykes dagger would like a word...😄
Outstanding work with this!
That pattern in the metal is beautiful. As I watched the video, I was thinking of ways to implement a similar design of the “dragon scales” into a fantasy story I’m working on
Beautiful work.
That is absolutely beautiful! Well done.
Damn dude that thing looks AMAZING
Beautiful work. Whole design and execution.
Beautiful workmanship 💪🏼
Neels would approve!
Awesome. Got my subscription with first video watched. Thanks for sharing!
It looks beautiful and you did a wonderful job making it as well!!!!
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
Thank you !bro 🍻
I love the marbling on the wood...Nice....
This came together very nicely
Beautiful piece of work! I love the charred look on the brass pieces, it really complements the dragon scales on the blade.
I thought I recognised Neels's templates. Great job!
Really awesome dagger, great work!
Beautiful work!!!
Absolutely gorgeous dagger!!!
That is actually 'gourgous' 😍 dam!! thats a sexy dagger!!
That’s pretty slick. Nice job
Amazing! Beautiful blade, Sexy handle wood. Great pommel and guard, with a very nice antique.
This is just wonderful. Very beauty. Thank you.
Absolutely gorgeous!!
That is so beautiful, great job!
Phenominal craftmanship and a gorgeous piece 👍
A generous coat of dried white spray paint on the inside of the container will prevent it from sticking.
Nice work
The quality here is off the charts. It’s as close to perfection as it gets.
But will it cut?
Always love the demonstrations from "Forged in Fire"
Though this dagger was obviously constructed with much more modern tools than most of how things from the show are made.
other than “wow”, i don’t know what else to say. it’s absolutely a beautiful piece.
Masterpiece!
Beautiful!
That's stunning
Beautiful
I think I like everything except the handle of the dagger. Mostly because I'd functionally want a dagger rather than awkwardly shaped handle.
Things that would have made the handle better:
Reverse the direction on installation. Narrow end towards the blade.
Incorporation of flats on the handle so the blade can easily be indexed in the hand.
A master craftsman that is not just a weapon its a true work of art , subscribed 👏🏻
Precious piece of work ✨️ 😍
Beautiful knife. Worthy of master maker.
Love the Damascus!
That's just...gorgeous.
Absolutely beautiful
That’s freaking gorgeous
Beautiful Damascus. I've not seen this pattern before.
I love how brass peels of with fresh paper on a belt sander or disc
You’ve still got it Han! Beautiful Dagger. Well done 👍🏼
That is gorgeous
Well done
I have always had an idea for a Damascus billet. Never tried it dont have a forge.
Fish hooks and ball bearings in 1095 powdered steel. Forge welded. Can stripped off. Then forged round. Then cut diagonally half way through very inch or so then twisted one fourth turn. Forge weld. Then repeat by drawing out round with the diagonal cuts 1/4th turn. Repeat this 2 more times. Then forge into a blade.
looks good
Very good machines and tools 👍
Amazing pattern! Just a little advice for your lathe to serve you longer, keep it away from the sawdust, it absorbs moisture really well and gets really well under the carriage. It is possible to just cover the ways and leadscrew with something but I generally avoid abrasives and wood near my lathe. Worst case you can actually make a wood turning fixture with your lathe, probably the motor and bearings will be the only things you need to buy
Impresionante 👏👏👏👏👏
It's beautiful!
Wow... That is amazing! Truly a work of art!
Thank you . bro! 🍻
OMG! This is EPIC! Your work and designs are always exceptional in every way. Just beautiful. ❤️😍⭐️💫👌🏻
This dagger was designed by Neels Van Den Berg (ABS MS). I forgot to make it clear in the video.

Sick Dagger and realy nice work
Looks good.
Nice work as always 👏👏
Thanks!🍻
Hello mister beautiful dagger beautifully done good job
Знатный получился клинок! Нужно было его протестировать! Заколоть свинку например! 😊 Рукоятка получилась как янтарная.
Such a beautiful dagger, the blade is by far the focal point, the Burl handle adds to the look as does the "Antiqued bronze fitments" and definitely not a blade meant to be used, but deliciously displayed inside a glass case to keep greasy finger prints off of it!
Very pretty
amazing 🙌
You are an artist
Thanks!🍻
Incredible
Brilliant work congratulations friend 😊
Great dagger would be an amazing sword.
