    I assume there is an error in this video since the "maximum speed" is 274 KTAS - 0:41, and the "Vmo" 250 KTAS - 2:32.
    Probably you mean Vmo = 250 KIAS since Vmo is usually defined as KIAS.

    Overall, I believe the M-600 offers incredible value. Especially since it has Garmin's G3000 installed with its avionics suite. Ideally, a lavatory option would be nice. Nevertheless, Piper has a competitive winner here.

    I think the smaller single engine turbo props like the M500 and TBM700 offer the best value (especially used). The larger PC12 and future Denali are bigger but slower.... If you want seats, range and speed these single engine turbo props are faster than than some of the VLJ's like Cirrus jet. If you want more speed a twin engine a used Citation is nice, but operation cost go way up.

    FYI, keep it below 18,000ft and you you can fly this with the new Basic Med. It's the largest, fastest aircraft that qualifies under the Basic Med rules...but just don't go cruising in the FL's without at least a Class III.

    The middle screen must have the option to turn some degrees with a button to pilot side , the small screens down can be permanent turn some degrees to pilot ( left screen ) and to co poilot ( right screen ) .
    Are you working on a multi engine aircraft with 1200 ps ?? , little bigger aircraft with a wc ? Cruising speed it can be more than 330 knots....

    There were a few well publicized Hypoxia cases where the flight crew was incapacitated and the plane flew until it ran out of fuel and crashed. One killed pro golfer Payne Stewart (Lear Jet). Another was in a single engine TBM700 turboprop. The plane crashed into Caribbean Sea near the northeast coast. Radio indicated the pilot cognitive abilities were declining due to oxygen deprecation. Why did these pilots not put their O2 mask on and descend? Don't know but this new system would have likely saved both crews and passengers.

    • @llathem2212
      @llathem2212 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      OMG, I forgot that’s how Payne Steward died. That was awful, I remember thinking at least they weren’t conscious. I’m a nurse practitioner so my brain automatically goes to how the person felt prior to demise. I know I’m weird. I’ve rented a very old piper, hard to crawl into the cockpit and I’m not that tall.

      a simple expanding gasses balloon activating a switch audible alarm system that activates when internal cabin pressure is reduced to/reaches 10k feet equivalent would be enough....; this would cost about $40 in materials... If internal cabin pressure hits 10K feet, you have pressurization issues....

    • @gmcjetpilot
      @gmcjetpilot 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mdd1963 There are warnings galore in high flying pressurized planes. There have been cases where the crews O2 was turned off at the BOTTLE. It was serviced and maintenance forgot turn it on. THAT IS WHY before flight cockpit crew checks their mask. But to your point... good idea. Flying at altitudes that don't support life is serious business.

      @@berndl Yes GPS knows mountains because it is in the data base... it has topography and knows your altitude and location, it can warn of ground. It is part of enhanced ground Prox systems. Do they have it programmed to avoid terrain in the emergency auto descent for hypoxia? Don't know but it could be done. Also in the lower 48 states, the max mountain peak is about 14,000'

      @@gmcjetpilot What about traffic. Will it descend into traffic below?

    • @gmcjetpilot
      @gmcjetpilot ปีที่แล้ว

      @kimberlywentworth9160 I doubt it but there are other safe gaurds. Many planes have a TCAS traffic collision alert system that advises pilots how to avoid traffic if too close. Second in an emergency ATC ( air traffic control) will see the aircraft position altitudes and get other traffic out of the way. Also every aircraft of this level has ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast) broadcasts position, speed, altitude others can see in their cockpit. Last is looking out windscreen and avoiding other traffic. I am guessing buy if you push emergency automatic land it will "squawk" emergency on aircraft transponder ATC will see. As I said planes who have an emergency have over all othet aircraft will be moved out of the way. I a plane descending from assigned altitude or getting of flight plan route, and not talking will be assumed to be a plane in distress.

    While the TBM 930 has much better numbers there are two things that make me consider the Piper 600! Number one is its American made not French. Number two is the throttle quadrant, the newTbm's throttle looks like a Toyota Corrola engineer designed it! Dear Piper, please leave the quadrant looking like an aircraft part!

  • @chrisalster7680

    Mooney aircraft back in the 60s all had a similar wings level function that was active all the time. It was called "POSITIVE CONTROL" or "PC" To bank the plane you had to press a release button on the yoke. It was a great feature, but someone who did not know how to use it killed themselves and a bunch of passengers and sued. Mooney forced all planes to later deactivate this feature because of their insurance carrier demands. A real shame that an insurance company puts profit ahead of lives.

    Hey Piper! I fly and operate a Piper M600 N600EU now it's T7-COM in Europe , Check the videos on my channel :)
    I have flown 286 hours within 3-month single-pilot within Europe, I can say that it's a very economical and fast aircraft for the passengers and owners ( except pilots)
    Garmin G3000 is so easy and intuitive to use!
    Before M600 I flew on Diamond DA42 twin-engine And I had to learn how to fly on M600 from the beginning (Completely different handling - much harder )
    Cons are
    - not enough space for the pilot's head ( I am 180 cm tall )
    - seats are too narrow and too close to the window ( I'm 78 kg)
    - auto temperature controller doesn't work well ( it always heats the cabin air even when set for cold ) I have to switch to manual mode all the time at cruise.
    - it's cold at the pilot seat, cold air is coming from the airframe parts ( not enough insulation )
    - It requires a lot of muscle force to flare it with 1 hand. I spent a lot of hours adapting to this feature.
    - Power lever is located too low and too far from my hand and you have to seat like a monkey with one arm and shoulder pushed down to control it.
    - Power lever is too sensitive at 350-550 torque and requires experience to operate.
    - It's hard to get into pilot's seats!

    • @kimberlywentworth9160
      @kimberlywentworth9160 ปีที่แล้ว

      So the aircraft is hard to flare with one hand. That could be a problem with me as I am a smaller lady.

    Well, it seems pretty clear that Piper is jumping on the 'Daher TBM' bandwagon with a cheaper, lesser quality and MUCH slower knockoff with less payload and range than the TBM 930. If you're going to try to copy your competition, you should at least make an effort to bring something improved to the table instead of 'inferior but at a cheaper price'. Comparing an M600 to a TBM 930 is like comparing a Chevrolet Spark to a Porsche 911. Yes, they both do the same thing but in a VERY different way and yes, you get what you pay for, as with most things in life.

    • @hawkdsl
      @hawkdsl 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Although the M600 and the TBM are the same class, Piper made the M600 from customer request for a faster plane. It's not a copy of the TBM, but a copy of the M500/P-46... going back to 1982. I've been in both planes, and the quality is equal between both planes. TBM is a hot rod, but if you need a family hauler with excellent speed and payload, the M600 is a far better value at almost half the price in ALL category's; Sale Price, Insurance, Maintenance, and cost to operate.
