I was really surprised with how good that looks. Normally I don't like the ott buildings like Meow Mansion, but the internal scene and those eyes sold it to me
Videoville Villages, Two good years in a row I think would be asking too much :D. But That's actually a good thing for my wallet :D. Though I liked the animation and lighting on the Wedding piece, the theme doesn't do it for me. Very reminiscent of the Symphony of Screams, which is one of my favorite pieces, mixed with a little dancing from the Gloom Room. Do like the dance variations of this wedding piece though. Then three of the sights and sounds pieces really intrigued me, but they all feel like there's something missing, like they're just short of being great. And for what these pieces usually go for nowadays, they have to be perfect to near perfect for me to spend the cash. The first, Medi-Evil castle, I almost jumped out of my seat with glee! Would I now be getting something equivalent to Lemax's PERFECT Black Castle? I intently watched this video to see if it may be the case, but alas, like I mentioned before, something's missing. Maybe the Sea Dragon could've moved his head back and forth and slid forwards and backwards when the draw bridge was up. Maybe the Gargoyle to the right could've been replaced with the Cerberus that could rise up and down slowly. Just something more... Instead, I think this piece is going to live and die by it's lighting, which is nicely varied. I'll really have to see this one in person in the store to consider it. The second is the Spells Abound shop. This one actually looks more visually interesting to me than Medi-Evil castle, but again, there's something missing. The tired old spinning birds have got to go and Lemax should retire that effect for quite some time, except the next piece may make me change my mind. And I love Frogs, but this changing a guy into a Frog doesn't work in the least bit and doesn't look great. The large purple robed wizard and the person holding the books coming out the door make this piece, but not enough to get me to buy it. The third piece is the Air and Space Novelties Museum, which seems like a quick copy idea from last years FG Square No Landing Zone piece. And sure, they are both different, but all the sudden "Aliens" coming from Lemax? The quick turn around build is more than evident here. Your Standard Zombies (creatures, people, whatever) going around in a circle, standard birds circling overhead... I mean... Flying saucers this time. But I have to admit, I like the saucers. The only thing this piece has going for it are the lighted shadows in the tent, which are ultra cool! This is the kind of effect you bring back after not using it for years. Other than that, this is a no for me. btw, you should really check out FG Square No Landing Zone. I have it and it's AWESOME! Now to the biggest surprise for me... The Quick Bite Spider Diner! Spiders are one of my least favorite Halloween characters. Yet this building has so much character, I may have to pick it up. And now to the only one I'm for sure picking up... Nightmares Video! This is Lemax at it's finest! Something new and also a building without a bunch of random reused Jack-O-Lanterns and ghosts everywhere. This one screams what it is and shows a careful consideration to only add things that make sense to the piece. I'm loving it! And another piece I'll for sure be picking up is the Skeleton on the Toilet figure called The Horror! No TP! Classic! And for a piece I'm considering, because it just looks so dang cool, though I won't be running it with water, is the Full Moon Lagoon. The trees are what got me, but all the other creatures are placed well and nothing boring on the piece. THANK YOU SO MUCH for always sharing this info when it becomes available. This'll be a light year for me (thank goodness), but I think some truly great pieces! Happy New Year! vgv
Happy New Year vgv, Thank you for your comment, informed as ever and really echoes my own opinions too. The wedding party would be a great table piece. Putting it in a village given its an interior scene would be tough unless you perhaps make your own ruins of a hall or something? I wasn't sold on the castle as it reminded me more of something from Playmobil. I loved the Skeleton King and the drawbridge but if they had gone for a more heavy metal style, I think that piece would have been lit - especially if the drawbridge came down to reveal the King on his throne in a great hall, with candles inside like they use on the exterior of The Cursed Ruins... And height! A castle to me should be tall, like Greyskull from MOTU. I loved the Alien base though...apart from the Zombies. I looked at that the first time and thought I don't get it 🤷, but the soundtrack explains it, but who displays with those soundtracks repeating over and over again?! It is one I will buy... But it's gonna go through a big overhaul to make it more Alien/Hangar 18. The one piece that was perfect pretty much was the Nightmares Video store! Fantastic design and colour scheme, really awesome! Thanks again for your time in commenting, Pete
I need that video store!!! So cool
Me too 😬 Love that piece, and the Alien hangar ❤️👽
I want the Spider Diner !

@VideovilleVillages I’ve got a few ideas for spooky town houses and I’ve got a home tiki bar I like to see in a haunted version of that!
@webstudio2amigos a haunted tiki bar would be novel.
I do make commissioned pieces so maybe down the road we can make that thing 👍
@@VideovilleVillages that would be so cool!!
@@VideovilleVillages I just checked your Etsy shop. Nice work! Have you ever build the Psycho house in mini?
