I want the Spider Diner !
I was really surprised with how good that looks. Normally I don't like the ott buildings like Meow Mansion, but the internal scene and those eyes sold it to me
@VideovilleVillages I’ve got a few ideas for spooky town houses and I’ve got a home tiki bar I like to see in a haunted version of that!
@webstudio2amigos a haunted tiki bar would be novel. I do make commissioned pieces so maybe down the road we can make that thing 👍
@@VideovilleVillages that would be so cool!!
@@VideovilleVillages I just checked your Etsy shop. Nice work! Have you ever build the Psycho house in mini?
So much new carnival items for Christmas - nothing new for Halloween :( Side note - I bet the Topsy Turvy is spinning faster than it would in real life lol
I reckon Michael's will get an exclusive Spooky Town ride this year - seems very odd for Lemax to not produce something new for ST. As for the Topsy Turvy, I kind of hope it is lol. My first thoughts when seeing that spin around at 18000 rpm was "that's gonna break" 😬😂
Carole Towne might have a Halloween Carnival ride Or Dept. 56
I get to see very little of Carole Town over here the UK. FG Square haven't announced anything yet so possibly they may too 🤞
Videoville Villages, Actually a bit more excited with the Christmas Line this year. Duck Hunt is for sure a buy for me. I like this new refresh to the older Lemax Duck Hunt (except for maybe the bit that it's $10 for 5 shots, especially when the rides have much cheaper prices in cents; maybe a mistake on Lemax's end). But what I REALLY want to see is a re-release or re-vamp (Because I don't think Lemax has ever done a re-release) of Spooky Town Shooting Range. I've been on the look out for one of these forever, but to find one at a reasonable price, let alone fully working, is nigh impossible. This piece needs to come back! I'm also planning on picking up Skeeball for sure and possibly the Runaway Sleigh. Runaway Sleigh doesn't perform as cool as I would've thought, but I absolutely love the look of it. I'm also mulling over the Topsy Turvy as it's just plain spectacular. I was thinking about adding it to my Smooching Skeleton Theme Park to replace my dying Ghost Around, but of course, Topsy Turvy isn't Halloween themed. And I've seen people paint pieces to look Halloween, but I know I don't have the patience to do that. However, this one looks SO COOL, that I might just work. I originally wanted to add the Spin Out to my Halloween Theme Park, but it's one that REALLY needs to be turned off properly with the switch and not just powered down on a plug strip. I've only run into one other piece that makes you use the switch 100% and that is the Rest In Pieces Mausoleum. All the other ones that "say" you need to use the switch, I haven't needed to and they continue to move. I know it isn't recommended for most rides to not use the switch, but I've had pretty good success with just the power off method for most. All in all, pretty light year for me with the Lemax collection. And I don't mind as I have so many great pieces and technically I don't need anymore :) Can't wait until these finally get released! vgv
Hi ya vgv, I hope they address the price on the Duck Hunt too - seemed like 2025 prices in 1945 lol. I was wondering yesterday how easy it may be to customise the DH for Spooky Town - I had visions of Leon from Resident Evil 4 popping off on zombies lol. Runaway Sleigh appeals to me as it's visually striking but compact with it's depth, allowing for rides within a Christmas village without overpowering the theme of a small village should you be limited for space. Maybe give the TT a repaint and see if you enjoy doing it? You can even buy lightbulb paint so you could make the colours under the top more spooky 🤔 Still, maybe 2026 they will do a ST version if not - Ghost Around and the Round Up were basically the same so fingers xd. Thanks, Pete
Where online i can buy this? I am from Serbia Stanning! ❤
Hi Violet, These have only just been announced and should become available around July. Unfortunately I'm not too aware of where would supply Serbia, but you could have a look on the Lemax website at the European stockists to see if Serbia is an option for any of them - www.lemaxcollection.com/where-to-buy Worst case scenario, you could purchase from a reseller on eBay that offers worldwide shipping. Hope this helps. Pete
@@VideovilleVillages thank you 🎄
I need that video store!!! So cool
Me too 😬 Love that piece, and the Alien hangar ❤️👽
Videoville Villages, Two good years in a row I think would be asking too much :D. But That's actually a good thing for my wallet :D. Though I liked the animation and lighting on the Wedding piece, the theme doesn't do it for me. Very reminiscent of the Symphony of Screams, which is one of my favorite pieces, mixed with a little dancing from the Gloom Room. Do like the dance variations of this wedding piece though. Then three of the sights and sounds pieces really intrigued me, but they all feel like there's something missing, like they're just short of being great. And for what these pieces usually go for nowadays, they have to be perfect to near perfect for me to spend the cash. The first, Medi-Evil castle, I almost jumped out of my seat with glee! Would I now be getting something equivalent to Lemax's PERFECT Black Castle? I intently watched this video to see if it may be the case, but alas, like I mentioned before, something's missing. Maybe the Sea Dragon could've moved his head back and forth and slid forwards and backwards when the draw bridge was up. Maybe the Gargoyle to the right could've been replaced with the Cerberus that could rise up and down slowly. Just something more... Instead, I think this piece is going to live and die by it's lighting, which is nicely varied. I'll really have to see this one in person in the store to consider it. The second is the Spells Abound shop. This one actually looks more visually interesting to me than Medi-Evil castle, but again, there's something missing. The tired old spinning birds have got to go and Lemax should retire that effect for quite some time, except the next piece may make me change my mind. And I love Frogs, but this changing a guy into a Frog doesn't work in the least bit and doesn't look great. The large purple robed wizard and the person holding the books coming out the door make this piece, but not enough to get me to buy it. The third piece is the Air and Space Novelties Museum, which seems like a quick copy idea from last years FG Square No Landing Zone piece. And sure, they are both different, but all the sudden "Aliens" coming from Lemax? The quick turn around build is more than evident here. Your Standard Zombies (creatures, people, whatever) going around in a circle, standard birds circling overhead... I mean... Flying saucers this time. But I have to admit, I like the saucers. The only thing this piece has going for it are the lighted shadows in the tent, which are ultra cool! This is the kind of effect you bring back after not using it for years. Other than that, this is a no for me. btw, you should really check out FG Square No Landing Zone. I have it and it's AWESOME! Now to the biggest surprise for me... The Quick Bite Spider Diner! Spiders are one of my least favorite Halloween characters. Yet this building has so much character, I may have to pick it up. And now to the only one I'm for sure picking up... Nightmares Video! This is Lemax at it's finest! Something new and also a building without a bunch of random reused Jack-O-Lanterns and ghosts everywhere. This one screams what it is and shows a careful consideration to only add things that make sense to the piece. I'm loving it! And another piece I'll for sure be picking up is the Skeleton on the Toilet figure called The Horror! No TP! Classic! And for a piece I'm considering, because it just looks so dang cool, though I won't be running it with water, is the Full Moon Lagoon. The trees are what got me, but all the other creatures are placed well and nothing boring on the piece. THANK YOU SO MUCH for always sharing this info when it becomes available. This'll be a light year for me (thank goodness), but I think some truly great pieces! Happy New Year! vgv
Happy New Year vgv, Thank you for your comment, informed as ever and really echoes my own opinions too. The wedding party would be a great table piece. Putting it in a village given its an interior scene would be tough unless you perhaps make your own ruins of a hall or something? I wasn't sold on the castle as it reminded me more of something from Playmobil. I loved the Skeleton King and the drawbridge but if they had gone for a more heavy metal style, I think that piece would have been lit - especially if the drawbridge came down to reveal the King on his throne in a great hall, with candles inside like they use on the exterior of The Cursed Ruins... And height! A castle to me should be tall, like Greyskull from MOTU. I loved the Alien base though...apart from the Zombies. I looked at that the first time and thought I don't get it 🤷, but the soundtrack explains it, but who displays with those soundtracks repeating over and over again?! It is one I will buy... But it's gonna go through a big overhaul to make it more Alien/Hangar 18. The one piece that was perfect pretty much was the Nightmares Video store! Fantastic design and colour scheme, really awesome! Thanks again for your time in commenting, Pete
Thank u
No trouble at all Kullyk
Looks so good!!!
Thank you Jan 👍
Ok. I’m seriously impressed! Absolutely love this! Thank you!
So glad you like it! I will do a couple of follow up vids to go in more detail for those that would like it
@ sounds great to me!
I'm sad to see all of them being retired! All are so creative and awesome!
There were some really nice pieces retired wasn't there? I think the 2 that shocked me the most were the Web Of Terror and the Garden of Eaten given that they are starting to really develop that side of things with The Living End and Slithering Gardens
Videoville Villages, Simply a masterpiece! I have to tell you though, if I took the time you did to set this up, it would NEVER be taken down. Heck, the village I created this year, which was for the most part, just arranging pieces, is now a permanent fixture of the room. I am SO GLAD to see so many different people approaching this hobby in different ways. And being able to share them on the internet, whereas back in the day I'd have to visit a rare Department 56 store, or a mall popup Christmas store to see one, it's been a treat! I'm glad I found your channel and your new village put a smile on my face :) vgv
Thank you vgv! That's lovely of you to say so. Like many people i'm sure, the most repeated phrase I hear is "all that effort... For just one month.." lol. For me, it's the making of the village that keeps me collecting rather than the pieces themselves and I love having a blank canvas each year. Thank you for all your insightful and thoughtful comments throughout the year - it's always a pleasure to read them. Merry Christmas vgv, Pete
Videoville Villages, Merry Christmas to you as well! vgv
I just put a bit of tape over the downward-facing speaker to reduce the volume. Mine runs around the plate rail in the hallway so I had to cut 'n' shut curved pieces to get the correct radius for turns. Family and friends love it.
Great idea about the tape! Might do that myself 👍
I just started my Christmas village this season and the first piece I bought was the Lemax Madeline’ Macarons. I didn’t realize the misspelling on the advertisement and box. The building actually says Madeline’s Macaroons 😂. My first piece and it has a misspelling lol.
Ha ha! I'm not sure if that is one of Lemax's weird regional changes? That same piece is sometimes sold as Madeline's Macaroons and also Mignon's Macarons, possibly more too. The confectionery displayed on the store is called either a Macaron or a French Macaroon, which isn't the same as a normal coconut based Macaroon. In Spooky Town, the Bigfoot Brewhaus also has regional variations. The lager advertised changes between "Yeti" with footprints shown above the door, and Naga with a snake, depending on that locations folklore. If you've got something different to everyone else in your area, that's pretty cool 👍
Felicidades por su hermosa villa y Feliz Navidad. Un saludo desde A Coruña(España).
Gracias Jaime, Feliz Navidad para ti también.
Haunted Aquarium retiring after just 2 years? Wow
Shocking isn't it?! Although... The first time I saw it, I was like "why does it have a cow hyde on the side?" And I've not been able to unsee it since lol
Nice work!
Thank you Lisa 👍
Well done Pete it looks amazing
Cheers bud, thanks 👍
Nicely done!!!!!

Hello, is it possible to add another train on the same track? Because I have 5 meters to cover and would like to have a bigger train convoy. Thanks
Hi Nik, Presumably it would be if there was a big enough space between them but as the motors get older, they become slower, so I would be mindful of one eventually catching up with the other and causing a derailment.
I apologize if this has already been asked, what scale is this? It appears to be a bit smaller than G scale but a bit bigger than HO (OO). Also, I apologize again, but where does a person purchase the basic set?
Hi Rusty, I don't believe these are a scale relatable to Hornby/Lionel etc trains. The rails are approx 28mm wide (1.10 inches) and the tram itself is approx. 50mm (2 inches) wide. You should be able to purchase one of these from any authorised Lemax retailers.
Great tips thank you for sharing
You are very welcome, hope it helps 👍
Love the tune the jolly trolly makes ,would like to know what's it called.
Isn't great - very jovial. I believe it's an original piece created for/by Lemax

Nice review. Just bought it as a christmas present for my father.
Fantastic - I'm sure he'll love it, can't wait to display mine this year
Hello my friend from lemax, where can I buy or acquire the crossing? Thank you for the info
Good morning Marco, Unfortunately the crossings have sold out this year. Please favourite my etsy store to be notified when back in stock. Regards, Pete
@VideovilleVillages thank you i find the Store. Danke Dir ich habe den Shop gefunden.
Hi, do you have any more of the crossing pieces available... i checked the esty link but states item no longer available ... also do you ship to Australia?
Hi Cindy, Unfortunately I am fully booked for orders and what stock there was has now gone. There should be plenty available next year and worldwide delivery is available. Thanks,
Amazing!!!
Thank you!!
It'll be my first time having a go at a Christmas village this year. Already made one mistake by buying different scale buildings, village sets and listening to other people telling me I need this I need that. The first one was only meant to be a small one to have a go. I had also thought about buying one of those moulds to stand everything on.
Oh the scale of buildings is ridiculously difficult as even the manufacturers have no scale they stick to. The plastic moulds from My Village and such are fantastic if you haven't got either the time or inclination to craft your own. Making your own is almost another hobby in itself and the plastic moulds are great for adding elevations to your village instead of having it flat
Very cool! I think I'm glad that I'm not hooked on it enough to need one. But if I did I'd get the weathered one.
Thank you Greg
Love the glass dome viewing hole. So fun!
I won't lie - I would have been less self conscious if I had my young son with me.. but I had to show what it was like and age is just a number right? 🤣
That looks like an amazing store !
It really is, and if it's like last year, they had so many different themes and styles for decorating your home, all divided up into colours - could have spent a fortune!! 🤣
3:32 Thank you! So I am not the only one who wishes they bring back a road system. All the old ones and the accessories to it (like the traffic lights) all been retired before I was able to start collecting.
You are absolutely not alone on that one - that was retired well before it's time. Whether there was a manufacturing issue or something? I don't know. I started work on my own version earlier in the year but had to shelf it due to having to allocate more time to producing orders vs prototyping, but it is a priority for Q2 in 2025
Well, except we are well past January of 2024. I'm guessing you mean 2025, but you might want to update your information. I would love to see everyones village entries.
I definitely need to do an update as I know there are hold ups in the UK with some retailers. The closing date is October this year. In the UK we do smallest to largest (DD/MM/YY) and I will make that more clear in the contest update - thank you for bringing that to my attention 👍
Great video. I plan on creating my first Christmas village this year on our coffee table. Next year, I'm planning on hoping to be able to include a train once I get a bigger place. Thank you for the tips!
You are very welcome and good luck with finding your new place 👍
Awesome, you’re giving me some very good ideas to boost my scenery… in my matchbox diorama and my Christmas Village. Thanks
That's fantastic to hear, glad to be of assistance. Out of interest, is that a Matchbox diorama as in the cars from Matchbox?
Hello, I submitted my entry today.
Awesome! Your entry has been received
All are beautiful !
Completely agree - wish I could have them all 🥰
Can you please tell me how I can order rocky river grist mill
Hi Andrew, It will be exclusively at Michael's this year and then on general release for 2025.
@@VideovilleVillages OK thanks
great video! These prices are crazy!
Thank you! And yeah they really are eye watering. I missed the opportunity to grab "The Graveyard Scene" a couple of weeks back and it went for a steal by comparison - gutted!
Hello, for the witch-crafty entry, is it for only 1 item handmade or could be multiple items handmade for a small Halloween village scene? Thank you
Great question. It's one piece, be that a building, figure or figures on a single base, swamp etc. If you have multiples, I'd suggest sending one entry of your best one for the Witch Craft, and another for the Scream Scene if it fits within the rules of that category 👍
How did rave at graves not make list searching for a while for it ,there is finally 1 on eBay now but have a feeling it’s going to go for $$$
Hi Tim, I only included verified sales in the video - no expected sales prices etc, just those I could say for a fact sold for the price I stated. I'm planning on making a part 2 soon, and I expect some of the more known high value pieces will feature in that
This was a great video. Thank you for sharing your tips
Thank you Cathline
Sounds great ! 🎃

Damn. I cannot understand this guy.
Ha! Sorry -My Irish friend always comments on my accent and I'm like you are one to talk lol. Thank heavens for closed captions lol
Videoville Villages, I think this is a great way to bring the community together! And though my village this year won't fall into one of these categories and I won't be submitting an entry, I still plan to upload a video of it to my channel and I'll let you know when it goes up (barring any unmitigated circumstances). I wish you and the people involved much success with this! Cheers! vgv
Hi ya vgv, I truly hope it does. I'd love to see villages of all shapes and sizes, I get inspired by so much of what I see on Facebook etc, it would be lovely to bring it altogether and have some fun
Videoville Villages, As promised, dropping by to let you know I posted my Halloween Village video for this year (not for the contest, of course😁just for fun) Hope you get to check it out :) I also listed all the items I used in it in the description below. Have a great one and Happy Halloween Season! vgv
Absolutely love this great work a blast from not to long ago ,seeing this makes u long for them times at BB video or any video store that a lot of media ppl miss.
Thank you for your kind words. We are spoiled now with on demand video - going to the movie store was an event and I personally feel that having everything at your finger tips takes the shine off it. The convenience is great, but physically holding the movie or game you've wanted can't be beat. Vinyl came back, here's hoping video stores do too 🤞
@@VideovilleVillages lol my wife a I had our cable turned off over a yr ago and I’ve never Netflix, I’m a physical media person always will since the 80’s my video collection is over 3000 videos and I’m always adding to it ,so it within hands reach.🎟️🎭
I actually found a Grimsley Manor at my local Goodwill store a few years ago and the sound and lights still work. I only paid 10 or 15 bucks for it with the original box! One of my best thrift finds ever.
Oh wow! That's incredibly lucky
Where is your movie theater from?!!!
Hi @meplumb949, That was actually the first village piece I ever made, taking inspiration from the Warner Village cinema in Leicester Square, London in the 90's
Videoville Villages, Great tool! Oh, and by the way, the comment stuff is still having issues and my last one to you I posted in the comment section of my video called, "My Comment To You Is Here" :) The only thing missing from this tool, and Lemax themselves, is the original MSRP. I don't think Lemax has ever divulged it, but if there was ever a time to do it, it would be now with all the Michaels grossly over inflation of prices over the last few years. We really need some regulation, and also, it would be cool to see what the prices of pieces were back in the day. I'm probably going to utilize this. Now we just need to get Department 56 on board and to update their picture library :) vgv
Absolutely! I fear the MSRP isn't just a Michael's issue as many UK sites were consistent with their pricing such as the Castle Gala being the equivalent of $229 US, and despite the coupons, or lack of them, people have still picked the shelves clean! I hope they do include it though, along with dimensions, power draw, adapter included etc before one day we get the ultimate website feature - "Virtual Village", a bit like a "Planet Coaster" game (we can all dream right? 🤣) Pete,
