Hope your feeling better I find my origional Colt shoots well 4.75". Now I'm a geezer (73) but remember here in Orlando a security guard in uniform carried one as a bank guard when I was a boy. It was forsale by his family years later and I really considered it , but the gun sold before I decided YEP GET IT Had as I recall real stag. Historical in my mind 2nd Gen Colt 4.75 .45 Colt. Owned multiple have 2 identical Colts now. Owned a 5.5" .45 Colt and a nickel 4.75 in .44 Special. Wish I'd kept them. Hope your doing well been praying for you along with a lit of your subscribers. It has to be the gun for your a good shooter Take care SARGE.
My FFL ordered a Traditions made by Pietta. When I got it home, I discovered a rough place in the rifling. It was so bad that it could be felt when running a patch down the barrel. I was unable to see it when looking at it at the store because the barrel had power residue from test firing at the factory. I no longer have it and went with Ruger Vaquero.
George, I know you can shoot and likely better than me, just a suggestion from one old guy to another, put a sandbag on your block rest and put your hands on the sandbag. My point is to get the butt of the blaster off the rest, it tends to bounce on ignition!!!!! We both know that one ain't no Ruger!!!!!!! Thanks for the videos!!! Love em
It was a Pietta Frontier 1873. The stupid cylinder release button was also very difficult to manipulate. Seemed like it wasn’t machined properly. Never even fired a round in it. Exchanged it out to the Ruger. Much better choice.
Hi there. Does that base pin have two notches? Some of those models have two notches. The notch closer to the muzzle is supposed to be a saftey notch. It's supposed to block the hammer from falling completly. Your pin retainer may have a weak spring. Wouldn't hirt to try stretching that spring alittle.
You are a solid individual, George. May God Bless you.

Possibly need to check the chamber throat's!
If they are undersized...
It will make the gun print everywhere!

I had a similar SAA revolver where that pin needed to be turned about a 1/4 turn to "lock" it in place.

That looks like a lot of recoil for CAS ammo
My Pietta Great Western ll is an excellent shooter 🤔
Have you checked the timing?
Every family has one, you can pick your friends but family...well.

That’s horrible. Send it back or just sell it. Barrel is off. Over bore in barrel.
